This paper evaluates the effect of initial center selection on cluster quality and the rate of convergence in K-means clustering. In this paper, a new approach is proposed that uses random initialization and spatial distribution scores. The main objective is to enhance K-means clustering by creating a simple, novel, and efficient technique shredded for data classification and other high-level image processing tasks. Our approach relies on image color segmentation through the application of a transformation to the image's RGB color space, representing every pixel by three values of different components of color, divided into blocks, and then a calculation of the density of dots in every block. This value of density mark provided information about the distribution of color values around various parts of an image. It uses a tactical approach in selecting initial centers, namely Scored Centers Initialization, or SCI. It chooses the block with the highest score as the initial center block chosen randomly. Then, it selects subsequent centers based on the probability assessed by the Euclidean distance from the nearest one picked center and the density score of the block. It continuously does this until the desired number of centers is reached. The experimental results indicate that the clustering effect of the approach proposed was better than the traditional Random Centers Initialization method, thus proving the proposed strategy was effective. Based on the consideration of point-to-center distances and the spatial distribution score, it captured better data structures to get quicker convergence and higher quality in the cluster assignment. © 2024 IEEE.

In public life, the contract, which is one of the oldest legal instruments, is widely used to regulate relations related to the satisfaction of certain needs of participants in civil law relations. Property relations that develop at the stage of sale of manufactured goods, performance of work, provision of services is based on the construction of the contract. Property interest is secured by an agreement. A contract is an agreement between two or more persons on the emergence, change or termination of their civil rights and obligations. It can be seen from the definition that the interested parties in the contract are counterparties directly participating in it. Civil law relations arising under this agreement apply only to both of them and create relative legal relations. According to the principle of relativity, the contract, as a rule, obliges the parties that have concluded it does not affect third parties. Contracts concluded for the benefit of third parties are one of the very important exceptions to this principle. When it comes to cyber security, the characteristic contract made for the favour of a third party may involve the exchange, processing, or storage of sensitive information. This article discusses the features of the secure storage for contract concluded in favour of a third party as a subject of research. The secure MD5 fused AES algorithm is proposed here to improve data privacy and security in the storage. © 2023 IEEE.

In today's competitive world, it is critical for an institute to forecast student performance, classify individuals based on their talents, and attempt to enhance their performance in future tests. Students should be advised well in advance to concentrate their efforts in a specific area in order to improve their academic achievement. This type of analysis assists an institute in lowering its failure rates. Based on their prior performance in comparable courses, this study predicts students' performance in a course. Data mining is a collection of techniques used to uncover hidden patterns in massive amounts of existing data. These patterns may be valuable for analysis and prediction. Education data mining refers to the collection of data mining applications in the field of education. These applications are concerned with the analysis of data from students and teachers. The analysis might be used for categorization or prediction. Machine learning such as Nave Bayes, ID3, C4.5, and SVM are investigated. UCI machinery student performance data set is used in experimental study. Algorithms are analysed on certain parameters like- accuracy, error rate. © 2021

The search for novel multi-functional material has been on the rise for the past decades. These materials ought to possess flexible structures and tunable properties in order to be utilized for a variety of applications. Perovskite materials are predominantly used in solar cell applications due to their broad absorption spectrum, long carrier lifetime, and long transport distance of electrons and holes. Nevertheless, their unique and tunable properties allow for their utilization in a wide range of applications. In this work, a review on the application of perovskite materials in hydrogen production, supercapacitors, and optoelectronic devices is presented. The role of perovskite in the improvement of said applications is investigated, and future outlook and remarks are presented. This paper highlights the potential utilization of perovskite material outside the scope of photoelectric devices and solar cells. © 2023 IEEE.

Some Comments on the Aircraft Landing Problem: How Optimal is the First Come First Serve Policy?

Managing aircraft landings in the Terminal Area (TMA) is a key challenge in Air Traffic Management (ATM) and has been gaining attention due to the consistent growth of air traffic congestion and delays. The Aircraft Landing Problem (ALP) deals with this issue by optimally scheduling the aircraft landings in the TMA so that the overall delay is minimized. Most modern models and solution methods addressing ALP allow aircraft re-positioning. However, majority of the airports still employ the First Come First Serve (FCFS) policy to manage landings. This study seeks to assess the optimality of the FCFS policy. Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) models are proposed to replicate FCFS, and the solutions are compared with the results from a state-of-the-art (SOA) model. Results suggest that FCFS results in 1.76 times more deviation from the target landing time than the SOA outcome on a single runway. While, in case of multiple runways, FCFS results are comparable with the SOA model outcomes. Findings also suggest that different holding times may result in different runway combinations. Implications of this study can help ATM decision-makers estimate the overall delay/deviation arising from FCFS and efficiently plan the available resource, workforce, and infrastructure augmentation decisions under FCFS policy.

Electrochemical affinity biosensors have the potential to facilitate the development of multiplexed point-of-care diagnostics in complex biological fluids. However, their commercial viability has been hindered by challenges such as electrode biofouling and the lack of inherent redox properties. To address this unmet need, we have developed a universal nanocomposite coating which is unique in its ability to not only allow oriented conjugation of the biorecognition element but also specific detection directly in complex biological fluids like serum and urine owing to its built-in antifouling and redox capabilities, thus improving suitability for point of care testing. This multifunctional coating comprises a 3D porous crosslinked bovine serum albumin matrix for oriented conjugation and antifouling properties with embedded graphene nanosheets modified with amino-ferrocene for enhanced conductivity and mediator-free biosensing. The coating showed minimal signal degradation despite prolonged exposure to 1% bovine serum albumin, artificial urine and untreated human serum for up to 30 days. To demonstrate its utility, we fabricated and tested proof-of-concept electrochemical immunosensors for bladder cancer protein biomarkers, specifically interleukin-8 (IL-8) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). The practical feasibility was highlighted by the excellent sensitivity and specificity observed for IL-8 and VEGF with a limit of detection of 41 pg mL−1 and 67 pg mL−1, respectively. Consequently, this universal nanocomposite-based electrochemical biosensing platform can be extended to the point of care testing of a broad spectrum of biomarkers present in complex biological fluids, thus enabling reliable and early diagnostics. © 2024 The Royal Society of Chemistry

Functionalizing chemotherapeutics-loaded liposomes with monoclonal antibodies can enhance their specificity and minimize side effects. Targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), overexpressed in HER2-positive breast cancer, is achievable by coating liposomes with an anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody. This study focused on synthesizing doxorubicin (DOX)-loaded immunoliposomes functionalized with anti-HER2 (HER-lip). The release of the drug from these immunoliposomes was triggered by high-frequency ultrasound (HFUS) and microbubbles, which acted as exogenous cavitation-enhancing agents. The platform was evaluated for size, lipid content, protein concentration, stability, and controlled release profiles. In vitro assessments were also performed, including the MTT assay for cell viability and flow cytometry to evaluate drug uptake. This innovative drug delivery system shows potential for combined therapeutic and diagnostic applications, improving personalized cancer care and treatment. © 2024 IEEE.
