Conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) have found extensive applications in various fields such as optoelectronics, CO 2 capture, and catalysis. However, their potential in electrochemical supercapacitors as energy storage and H 2 production systems remains relatively unexplored. This limited exploration can be attributed to certain challenges, including issues related to structural and electrochemical stability, as well as the relatively modest specific capacitance. Additionally, many of the CMPs discovered thus far have exhibited lower energy densities, further contributing to this underexplored aspect of their utility. In this study, we prepared two different CMPs [TPET-TTh and PyT-TTh CMPs] containing thienyltriazine units (TTh) for the redox mechanism and constructed electrodes for supercapacitor applications. The synthesized TPET-TTh and PyT-TTh CMPs displayed exceptionally high specific surface areas of 545 and 528 m² g⁻¹, respectively. Furthermore, their pore sizes were very similar, centered at approximately 0.39 and 0.36 nm, respectively. To evaluate their electrochemical properties, the TTh-CMPs were examined using cyclic voltammetry (CV) and galvanostatic charge/discharge (GCD). The resulting CV curves exhibited rectangular shapes, indicative of the characteristic behavior of electric double-layer capacitors, across a range of potential and scan rates. These TPET-TTh and PyT-TTh CMPs delivered nominal specific capacitances of 74 and 76 F g −1 at 0.5 A g −1 , respectively. In addition, they exhibited outstanding capacity retentions of 95.2 and 97.30 % even after 2000 cycles [analyzed at 10 A g −1 ]. The TTh-CMPs also exhibited excellent light-capture capabilities. The PyT-TTh CMP has faster charge separation and lower charge recombination rates than TPET-TTh CMP. This results in a higher hydrogen evolution rate from the water decomposition reaction. The H 2 production rate of PyT-TTh CMP could be as high as 18,533 μmol g −1 h −1 , which is approximately 4

Digitization and technological transformation in providing various services have become a goal for many countries in light of the current digital revolution to implement the concept of a smart city. Given the great importance of the smart city concept by researchers, the overriding concern is how to maintain data security and user privacy. These two criteria can or directly represent the strengths and weaknesses of such technology projects. This paper included a comprehensive study of the smart city, its concept and components. The research also included a detailed study of the most important applications included in smart city services and their working mechanisms and uses. The diversity of applications and services provided under the smart city environment is proof of the importance of this model. The paper also reviewed the security risks of data in all stages of work, data collection, data transfer and processing. Finally, the paper reviewed the five most important technologies used in a smart city to maintain information security and data privacy, their advantages, their internal methodology and algorithms. In the end, this paper aims to give a clear picture of all the details of the smart city and the technologies used for the purpose of ensuring information security and data privacy.

This paper presents a new approach to analyse cybersecurity challenges and opportunities, focused on the development of a new risk assessment and management framework. Such a multi-sector assessment framework should be able to evaluate and prioritize cybersecurity risks in trans-sectoral and inter-sectoral contexts. It leads toward proper resource allocations and mitigation actions. To achieve this goal, the analysis of existing risk assessment and management frameworks was performed. Also, an overview on common multi-sectoral technological challenges and opportunities were provided being derived from sector-specific use cases as well as transversal and inter-sectoral challenges and opportunities. As a result of this analysis the architecture of the ECHO Multi-sector Assessment Framework was proposed. The identified technological challenges and opportunities, multi-sector dependencies, and transversal aspects determine the input data for the new framework. The architecture is applicable in healthcare, energy, maritime transportation, and defence sectors, being extensible to others. The framework enables the definition of governance models or the design of cybersecurity technology roadmaps. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

The path we are currently following to improve the physics of construction due to the destruction of our environment through the negative impact of the built environment around us. Current efforts to decrease carbon and energy are noted by modifying and improving modern 'layered' envelopes and improving a misunderstanding of thermal comfort that has become much less effective than expected. Understanding construction physics is an important factor in improving the quality of life indoor and outdoor, relying primarily on theoretical and computational aspects, then applying the practical part to reduce excessive use of carbon and energy and hinder the elaboration of a sustainable and built environment. This paper shows how the problem stems from neglecting to think about the first principles and basic construction physics. Similarly, we show how combining good construction physics with reassessing old methodologies to construction and structure use provides some powerful and effective tools to address the climate emergency. The use of construction physics methods supports the search for new solutions to express the most important factors affecting thermal conduction and minimum surface temperatures. However, buildings have integrated concepts in which advanced systems work together to optimize energy, comfort, and health performance. Convergence between various engineering fields and the overlapping field of construction techniques and services has great potential in the future to achieve the next step in energy saving. As a result, the research highlights new methods that make our buildings interact with the external environment using climate data, responsive envelope design, simulation software, thereby achieving architectural response to surrounding variables, improving building physics to reduce environmental pollution, thermal comfort, and achieving the highest energy efficiency and performance in buildings. This is illustrated by the presentation of a case study

This paper presents a model which gives the detailed process of object identification. We need to identify class and location of object in image for completing process of objet identification. Proposed model works on the principal of reinforcement learning which takes action on the basis of rewards and experiences. Normally methods in literature uses sliding window which moves in same direction but proposed algorithm provides a variable mask which moves 360 degree for identifying object using action history vector proposed with RL also not only this work focuses on localization like other work but also used class information with Softmax classification able to classify multiple object in single image with efficient time which is novel. Proposed mask acts as agent and focuses on proposed candidate reason this saves time and works in efficient manner for identification. Agent depends on transformation action and by applying top down reasoning it gives location of object. Classification is done using Softmax classification as we are having features of image by CNN. Reinforcement learning concept used for training of agent and Pascal voc dataset used for testing. Analysis of only 10 to 25 regions is sufficient with proposed work to identify first instance of object. Experiment and performance evaluation shows the efficiency of proposed work.

Chromatographic investigation on the ethyl acetate extract of the soft coral Lobophytum durum collected from the waters of Guishan Island in northeast Taiwan resulted in the isolation of three sterols 1–3, including one novel sterol, 3β-hydroxy-25-methylene-5-cholesten-7-one (1), and two previously reported sterols, 7-oxogorgosterol (2), and (24S)-ergostane-3β,5α,6β,25-tetraol 25-monoacetate (3). The structures of sterols 1–3 were determined by extensive spectroscopic data analysis and by comparison with those previously reported in the literature. Additionally, the absolute configuration of sterol 3 was identified by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis for the first time in this study. The anti-inflammatory activities of sterols 1–3 were evaluated by examining their inhibitory effects on the generation of superoxide anions and the release of elastase by human neutrophils. © 2023, The Authors. Visual modelling can optimise sticky trap design for simultaneous monitoring of multiple species of insect pests

Coloured sticky traps are commonly used to monitor insect pests. Colour affects trap performance, with preferred colours often differing between species, making selection of trap colour for effective management of multiple pests challenging. Greenhouse whitefly (GWF) Trialeurodes vaporariorum and Western flower thrips (WFT) Frankliniella occidentalis, are major horticultural pests that often co-occur. Yellow colours are attractive to GWF, while blue is often used to target WFT, although WFT are also attracted to yellow colours. The visual mechanisms that make yellow colours attractive to either species are poorly understood. Previous experiments in WFT find that visual modelling of an opponent mechanism between short wavelength sensitive (SWS) and long wavelength sensitive (LWS) photoreceptors optimises the performance of blue sticky traps. In the current study, we assess whether an opponent response that highly stimulates LWS relative to SWS photoreceptors predicts the attractiveness of yellow sticky cards to both WFT and GWF. Our results showed that yellow sticky cards that maximize a predicted SWS:LWS opponent mechanism improves capture for both species. Further, optimising the SWS:LWS ratio allowed for simultaneous monitoring of both pest species using single colour cards. We also showed that sticky trap colour and luminance are comparable across different lab and field contexts, highlighting the broad applicability of visual modelling in pest management strategies. © The Author(s) 2025.

DNA origami is a promising technology for its reproducibility,flexibility,scalability and *** the several potential applications,DNA origami has been proposed as a tool for drug delivery and as a contrast agent,since a conformational change upon specific target interaction may be used to release a drug or produce a physical signal,***,its conformation should be robust with respect to the properties of the medium in which either the recognition or the read-out take place,such as pressure,viscosity and any other unspecific interaction other than the desired target *** we report on the read-out robustness of a tetragonal DNA-origami/gold-nanoparticle hybrid structure able to change its configuration,which is transduced in a change of its plasmonic properties,upon interaction with a specific DNA *** investigated its response when analyzed in three different media:aqueous solution,solid support and viscous *** show that,once a conformational variation is produced,it remains unaffected by the subsequent physical interactions with the environment.

Social robots are increasingly studied and applied in the educational domain. Although they hold great potential for education, they also bring new moral challenges. In this study, we explored the moral considerations related to social robots from the perspective of Dutch educational policymakers by first identifying opportunities and concerns and then mapping them onto (moral) values from the literature. To explore their moral considerations, we conducted focus group sessions with Dutch Educational Policymakers (N = 20). Considerations varied from the potential to lower the workload of teachers, to concerns related to the increased influence of commercial enterprises on the educational system. In total, the considerations of the policymakers related to 15 theoretical values. We identified the moral considerations of educational policymakers to gain a better understanding of a governmental attitude towards the use of social robots. This helps to create the necessary moral guidelines towards a responsible implementation of social robots in education.
