Energy supply and demand are at the core of one of the pressing problems worldwide as the present energy production is still dominated by non-renewable resources. The need to meet the goals for the climate has motivated the energy sector to embrace cleaner and greener electro-energy systems. Proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells, also known as polymer-electrolyte membrane fuel cells, have lately attracted more attention from various sectors due to their exceptional advantages, including high theoretical efficiency, low operating temperatures, and low-to-zero emissions. Therefore, they can be successfully used in a variety of applications. Hence, a novel membrane that possesses adequate proton conductivity is required. Therefore, in this work, MXene was investigated as a potential proton conductor. MXene/PVDF based membrane was synthesized with different concentrations 3, 5, 8, 10, 13 and 15 wt.% respectively, and evaluated for their proton conduction using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The values of the conductivity obtained were:3.22× x10- 3, 6.2× x10-3, 0.025, 0.041, 3.77×10-3 and 4.2 ×10-3 S/cm, respectively. The results of this study show that the synthesized membranes in this work appear to be promising for PEM fuel cells applications. © 2023 Computers and Industrial engineering. All rights reserved.

Barriers to the participation of distributed energy resources (DERs) in wholesale electricity markets have limited the use of DERs for power system security and resilience. In September 2020, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved an order to reduce these barriers. FERC Order No. 2222 enables the participation of DER aggregators in wholesale electricity markets. DERs include renewable generation and technologies that support the integration of renewable generation by increasing grid flexibility and resilience. Requiring wholesale energy markets to allow DER aggregator participation provides a path for DERs to become competitive in these markets. As the contribution from aggregated DERs continues to increase, the aggregator's role in supporting grid security and resilience will become more critical. This paper reviews work that demonstrates how DER aggregators can provide resilience support through technical capabilities, operational strategies, and secure communication architectures. Socioeconomic influences and impacts of aggregators, including implications for social resilience, are presented. In surveying the current state-of-the-art across different but interconnected topics, we illustrate how aggregators can be power system participants that enhance grid security. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to enhancing resilience in a power grid that includes a growing cohort of DER aggregators, but there are many options for aggregators to contribute to a more resilient and secure power grid. © 2023 IEEE.

Nursing information systems are becoming increasingly prevalent in our medical institutions. However, changes in the social environment and imbalances between the demands of caregivers and care recipients mean that current nursing information systems are inadequate in terms of quality and operational needs. This article was written to provide insights into opportunities to leverage technology to further promote care quality by applying a "data, information, knowledge, and wisdom" system development structure to develop intelligent technology products that equitably meet the needs of patients, caregivers, and nursing processes. Applied in clinical settings, these products should help satisfy patient needs and facilitate nursing work.

In 2014 he established Health Tech Solutions Ltd to offer consultancy services to the healthcare sector in strategic replacement planning lean service improvement and technical and user training around medical equipment and medical gases. He has now extended his services into the veterinary sector including medical devices medical gases pressure safety systems and written scheme of examinations

Veterinary practices use a number of different types of medical devices, from operating tables to electrosurgical units and infusion pumps. These devices are connected to the animal by a variety of cables, tubes or transducers. We know that electrical safety testing is a requirement under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and, for the most part, this is addressed through portable appliance testing (PAT). PAT is designed to check the safety of domestic and office equipment (eg, kettles, laptops and so on), where there is minimal connection. However, with medical equipment, we are making deliberate connections to the animal. As such, specific, more complex electrical safety testing is required. This article explores the requirements and what the additional tests are used for.

ERP systems are merging their powers to generate a dynamic collaboration. By examining the integration between RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, we can identify their shared potential for enhancing process flow. Combining automation and ERP integration makes RPA a powerful tool for process management across multiple industries. The paper examines the basics of RPA and its ERP integration, highlighting the advantages of enhanced productivity and fewer errors. Simulation on directed graphs is an important method for understanding the dynamics in the systems where connectivity graphs contain cycles. Discrete Stochastic Heterogeneous Simulator (DiSH) is one of the simulation tools with wide application, which uses regulator values to calculate state updates of regulated elements. Here we present a new simulation approach DiSH-trend which also takes into account the trends in regulating elements. We demonstrate the features of trend-based regulation, as well as hybrid regulation, which is a combination of the trend-and level-based approaches. The modeling capabilities are demonstrated on a small toy model, showcasing different functionalities. Real-world capabilities are demonstrated on a larger network model of food insecurity in the Ethiopian region Oromia. Adding trend-based regulation to models results in increased modeling flexibility, and hybrid regulation improves qualitative dynamic behavior prediction. With appropriate data, DiSH-trend becomes a powerful tool for exploring intervention strategies. © 2021 IEEE.
