Objective. Multimodal neuroimaging approaches are beneficial to discover brain functionalities at high spatial and temporal resolution. In our work, a novel material composition of a microECoG device relying on Parylene HT and indium-tin-oxide (ITO) is presented, which facilitates two-photon imaging of Ca2+ signals and concurrent recording of cortical EEG. Approach. Long-term stability of the interfaces of the transparent microdevice is confirmed in vitro by electrochemical and mechanical tests. The outstanding optical properties, like high transmittance and low auto-fluorescent are proven by fluorimetric measurements. Spatial resolution of fluorescent two-photon imaging through the microECoG device is presented in transgenic hippocampal slices, while concurrent recording of Ca2+ signals and cortical EEG is demonstrated in vivo. Photoartefacts and photodegradation of the materials are also investigated in detail to provide safety guidelines for further use in two-photon in vivo imaging schemes. Main results. Two-photon imaging of Ca signals can be safely performed through the proposed transparent ECoG device, without significant distortion in the dimensions of detected neuronal structures or in the temporal signaling. In chronic use, we demonstrated that fluorescent Ca signals of individual neurons can be clearly recorded even after 51 d. Significance. Our results give a firm indication that highly transparent microECoG electrode arrays made of Parylene HT/ITO/Parylene HT multilayer are excellent candidates for synergetic recording of optical signals and EEG from intact brains with high resolution and are free of electrical and optical artefacts. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd.

University libraries traditionally follow the student-as-customer service model. However, as globalization facilitates international student mobility, the transformed profile of this group engenders needs and expectations infrequently met using this approach. This article contends that the student-as-stakeholder, as defined by R. Edward Freeman's Stakeholder Theory, presents a more appropriate model for relationship management given the neo-liberal concept of the 21st-century university. Negotiations of identity and power become important as they relate to diversity and equality for this marginal group. The neglect of these concepts may be instrumental in breeding resistance to service innovation and use, thereby affecting grade achievement and student retention. © 2018, Published with license by Taylor & Francis © 2018, © Cherry-Ann Smart.

Particularly his current research interests include the use of information technology to scale up healthcare services for the underprivileged and its application to enhance the effectiveness of healthcare personnel.

Social robots are increasingly studied and applied in the educational domain. Although they hold great potential for education, they also bring new moral challenges. In this study, we explored the moral considerations related to social robots from the perspective of Dutch educational policymakers by first identifying opportunities and concerns and then mapping them onto (moral) values from the literature. To explore their moral considerations, we conducted focus group sessions with Dutch Educational Policymakers (N = 20). Considerations varied from the potential to lower the workload of teachers, to concerns related to the increased influence of commercial enterprises on the educational system. In total, the considerations of the policymakers related to 15 theoretical values. We identified the moral considerations of educational policymakers to gain a better understanding of a governmental attitude towards the use of social robots. This helps to create the necessary moral guidelines towards a responsible implementation of social robots in education.

This publication is devoted to the research and development of an IP network model is based on IP PBX Asterisk in the Opnet Modeler simulation package. The IP PBX Asterisk software solution is used for voice telephony. The hardware part of the researching network is based on Cisco network equipment. A SIP server configured to transmit multimedia traffic is selected as the server for transmitting information for IP PBX Asterisk. A brief review of sources [1]-[4] dedicated to the use of IP PBX Asterisk on the Opnet Modeler software package is conducted. The problems related to the use of separate simulations for different types of traffic and comparing their results with each other to determine the characteristics of network delays, bandwidth between network nodes, and others are relevant (actual). Simulation in such a network is based on the two scenarios. The simulation results in the above scenarios showed that the speed of packets passing through the entire network and memory usage in each of the scenarios remains a constant value. Minimal delays are observed when transmitting Unicast traffic during videoconferencing and even during VoIP traffic.

The numerous threats and data exfiltration that has taken place in our network require that significant effort is made to ensure the safety of organizational data and equipment. The diverse nature of emerging technologies and bring your own devices (BYOD), smartphones and so on makes it challenging to efficiently secure the traditional networks. However, the popularity resulting from low-cost service offerings in cloud computing and the dispersed nature, the use of virtual machines in cloud networks makes it attractive and perhaps safer than the regular networks. There is a certain level of the layer of abstraction with cloud computing, such as community cloud, distributed or hidden identity and the lack of control makes it appear impenetrable. The key to cybersecurity is for the protection of information in computer systems to protect and guide the architectural structures that are used to support the system or database. The protection of information in computer systems requires that protection mechanisms should guide the architectural structures that are used to support the system or database.

This work investigates the performance of various forward error correction codes, by which the MIMO-OFDM system is deployed. To ensure fair investigation, the performance of four modulations, namely, binary phase shift keying(BPSK), quadrature phase shift keying(QPSK), quadrature amplitude modulation(QAM)-16 and QAM-64 with four error correction codes(convolutional code(CC), Reed-Solomon code(RSC)+CC, low density parity check(LDPC)+CC, Turbo+CC) is studied under three channel models(additive white Guassian noise(AWGN), Rayleigh, Rician) and three different antenna configurations(2×2, 2×4, 4×4). The bit error rate(BER) and the peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR) are taken as the measures of performance. The binary data and the color image data are transmitted and the graphs are plotted for various modulations with different channels and error correction codes. Analysis on the performance measures confirm that the Turbo + CC code in 4×4 configurations exhibits better performance.

This study evaluates the current series of events relating that information and data security and familiarity with our practices have not helped in securing our systems as predicted. Though we have made progress recently, lots of security breaches to data still occur that seem preventable. The past incidents do not seem to prepare us to respond to the next adequately. This study suggests the prospective reasons for the challenges involved in creating a Risk Management Plan (RMP), examines the importance of the plan as well as the factors responsible for their successes in government agencies. Many organizations often relegate to the background, the need for risk management plans although it is one of the most important success factors in organizational development. Creating a risk management policy in the government requires special skill because all the stakeholders will be involved to direct and approve the final draft. The Risk Management Plan is the working document of the organization that details how the organization intends to develop, test, remediate and implement risk management plans within the organization.
