Traffic forecasting is essential for the intelligent transportation system and is applied to managing traffic networks. Recently, there has been a growing interest in incorporating spatial and temporal variables into the methodology of traffic forecasting. The primary emphasis of modern research lies in the complex architecture of graph neural networks. In contrast, preprocessing data for the input is also essential. Especially traffic data, such as traffic flows, have high nonlinearity and complex patterns. The traffic graph signal is attributes that are associated with the nodes. In this paper, the step of preprocessing data utilized graph signal processing (GSP) to filter noise from traffic signal data before the traffic flow data was applied for prediction tasks. The adjusted parameter for filtering noise was used. In this paper, the parameter was set from 0.1 to 10. The result shows that the increasing parameter filter of the graph data was smoothed filtered. Moreover, the smooth data is affected by the time horizons. For the increasing time horizon, we can use the large parameter and get the prediction error smaller than the shorter time horizon. © 2023 IEEE.

Purpose-The production of glycerol derivatives by the esterification process is subject to many constraints related to the yield of the production target and the lack of process *** accurate monitoring and controlling of the process can improve production yield and *** purpose of this paper is to propose a real-time optimization(RTO)using gradient adaptive selection and classification from infrared sensor measurement to cover various disturbances and uncertainties in the ***/methodology/approach-The integration of the esterification process optimization using self-optimization(SO)was developed with classification process was combined with necessary condition optimum(NCO)as gradient adaptive selection,supported with laboratory scaled medium wavelength infrared(mid-IR)sensors,and measured the proposed optimization system indicator in the batch *** Process Modeling and Notation(BPMN 2.0)was built to describe the tasks of SO workflow in collaboration with NCO as an abstraction for the conceptual ***,Stateflow modeling was deployed to simulate the three states of gradient-based adaptive control combined with support vector machine(SVM)classification and Arduino microcontroller for ***-This new method shows that the real-time optimization responsiveness of control increased product yield up to 13 percent,lower error measurement with percentage error 1.11 percent,reduced the process duration up to 22 minutes,with an effective range of stirrer rotation set between 300 and 400 rpm and final temperature between 200 and 210℃ which was more efficient,as it consumed less *** limitations/implications-In this research the authors just have an experiment for the esterification process using glycerol,but as a development concept of RTO,it would be possible to apply for another chemical reaction or *** implications-This research introduces new development of an RTO approach to optimal con

Currently, hypervisor technology is an emerging topic of research. Virtualization technology, especially hypervisors and virtual machines (VM), has been widely studied but is still little applied in the cyber-physical systems (CPS) field. A hypervisor, or VM monitor (VMM), is a software program used to run multiple VMs on a single physical machine through space and time partitioning in a real-time operating system. This paper discusses the hypervisor technology to prevent software interference and to minimize size, weight, and power-cost (SWaP-C) in cyber physical systems, as well as, the application of hypervisor technology in the aerospace, automotive and control fields. By partitioning, a hypervisor can increase software safety because application programs with different criticality levels do not affect each other in failure when run in partitioned VMs. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a microservices-driven digital twin (DT) model for precision farming in controlled indoor environments, addressing the critical need for scalable, modular, and real-time agricultural systems. As the global demand for food rises, integrating Industry 4.0, IoT, edge, and cloud computing technologies becomes essential to improve farming process. The proposed model enhances scalability, modularity, and real-time decision making through decentralized data processing. A master-agent containerized computing architecture was employed to reduce latency and optimize environmental control. Moreover, the integration of a Kalman filter improved the accuracy of key environmental parameter adjustments. This research explored how this model can be scaled for larger farming operations and addresses challenges in system interoperability and implementation. Future work will expand this research to diverse agricultural settings, real-world validation, and ensuring data privacy and security. This study provides a framework for advancing precision farming through digital twin technology. © 2024 IEEE.

This study explores the potential assessment. of regenerative braking energy in the operation of Electric Multiple Units (EMU) on the Yogyakarta-Palur railway line, a 65.03 km. Prompted by a noticeable increase in passenger numbers in the Yogyakarta metropolitan buffer zone, the study calls for future energy management strategies, involving regenerative braking to reduce energy consumption. Utilizing a mathematical model implemented via MATLAB Simulink, the research encompasses complex train movement scenarios, considering variables such as acceleration values of 0.558 m/s2 and 1 m/s2, and deceleration values of -0.555 m/s2 and 0.36 m/s2. Speed limitations, travel patterns, and energy profiles are rigorously examined, along with incline influences, such as tangent angles of 0.0032 degrees and 0.0017 degrees. In segments like Purwosari-Solo Jebres, electrical energy consumption is quantified at 23.02 kWh, with regenerative braking energy at 1.42 kWh;in Maguwo-Brambanan, consumption is 15.28 kWh, with regenerative energy at 2.42 kWh. The peak power requirements and regenerative braking potentials were also determined, with values such as 619.9 kW and 225.7 kW, and 1785 kW and 198.2 kW respectively. The total electrical consumption for the routes from Palur to Yogyakarta and vice versa was found to be 325.52 kWh and 276.73 kWh, with energy recovery of 31.43 kWh and 26.6 kWh, and average energy recovery ratios of 9.66% and 9.61%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Managing the traffic system is a multifaceted challenge, imposing various solutions to prevent congestion. Traffic management aims to create an efficient control system with numerous advantages, including reduced fuel emissions, lower stress levels, and enhanced driving discipline. Max Pressure stands as one of the techniques for traffic control, designed to adapt and enhance network throughput by considering pressure, defined as the difference between upstream and downstream queue lengths. Recent developments have yielded improved performance in Max Pressure through learning. In this adaptive control mechanism, the concept of Max Pressure is integrated as a reward function within reinforcement learning. This study introduces the "Max Pressure learning"concept, revealing its potential for creating adaptable traffic controllers. By modifying the pressure equation and transforming it into a performance metric, the original Max Pressure concept effectively responds to diverse traffic conditions. This paper showcases research findings demonstrating the surprising effectiveness of pressure as a control mechanism in the context of the learning process. Ultimately, using pressure enables controllers to efficiently alleviate gridlock situations in traffic, highlighting its promising role in optimizing traffic management and enhancing overall traffic system performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Many economically essential crops in Indonesia (such as coffee, tea, chocolate, or copra) require storage or drying under certain environmental conditions, especially temperature and humidity. The solar dryer dome, typically used for agricultural purposes in Indonesia, produces a sufficient amount of heat to increase the evaporation rate inside the dome and reduce the moisture content of the commodity. A hybrid solar dryer accompanied by a photovoltaic panel, fan, and ventilation system is generally suitable. The system can provide an optimum environment with minimum control. However, as the outdoor temperature and humidity change dramatically, such as at night time, more control is required. Based on Industry 4.0 technologies, we have developed a new kind of hybrid solar dryer that provides an optimum environment 24/7. The system, called Smart Dome 4.0, is an intelligent, low-cost, self-sufficient drying and storage system to support Indonesia Agriculture 4.0. The system has a local power generation unit to self-sustain the required energy and operate without connecting to the electricity grid. The system utilizes a machine-learning algorithm to predict the environmental condition and optimally uses self-generated electric power. The developed Smart Dome 4.0 technology is critical to producing a sustainable solar dome under drastic environmental dynamics. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper presents the design and analysis of welding fixtures based on transient thermal analysis. Welding fixtures is designed to hold and support the workpiece securely during the welding process. The heat transformation from the workpiece could lead the temperature rises and impacts to the welding fixtures. Therefore, the study introduces the development of welding fixtures as one of a safety measure prevents the welder from injury while handling welding process. The conceptual design of welding fixtures and material were applied to conduct the simulation. Transient thermal analysis was performed on temperature and total heat flux by using computer aided engineering software. The result shows the analysis of equivalent stress, total deformation, factors of safety, fatigue life and fatigue damage. Furthermore, the equivalent stress failure theory used to predict yielding in welding fixture design. The design of welding fixtures and material selection were proposed to hold and support the workpiece securely. © 2018 Institute of physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system can be considered as an Internet-of-Things (IoT) system implemented to engineering structure to provide real-time information on the integrity of the structure. In doing so, the system acquires data from various sensors distributed across the structure and infers damage sensitive quantities. In the research, we proposed a damage index derived from the governing dynamics of the structure in the frequency domain. The proposal was empirically verified by applying the index to analyze the case of a cracked cantilever beam subjected to a harmonic load. The value of the damage index was computed at some points surrounding the crack to understand the effect of the distance of the monitoring point to the crack to the index sensitivity. The results suggest that the index is sensitive to the crack particularly when the observation point is near the crack. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Social network sites (SNSs) have grown rapidly in recent years. More and more companies have used SNSs as part of their business strategy. SNSs offer numerous advantages, especially in enhancing communication. SNSs have a potential as a new complaint channel for young customers to file their complaints to companies. The objective of this study is to investigate the acceptance of SNSs as complaint channel based on TAM. A structured questionnaire was distributed to young participants, which collected 222 valid questionnaires. Furthermore, structural equation modeling was utilized to investigate the structural model. The results revealed that perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness have a positive correlation on the attitude towards SNSs. While the attitude plays an important role in understanding customers' intention to use SNSs to voice complaints. However perceived usefulness has no significant impact on intention to use. Limitations and further research were also discussed. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.
