Indonesia had been suffered by earthquake and tsunami for many centuries. Since many lives have taken by tsunami strikes, alert and response system are very important as important part of Disaster Risk Reduction, especially in area with high population density. This research conducted in Kangkung fishing village in Bandar Lampung coastal area which is an earthquake and tsunami prone area. The aim of the research is to study alert and response of Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction. The research conducted by qualitative method and purposive-descriptive approach. There were 53 respondents which participated in the survey and interview. It is reported that 'Smart Resilient City' model suitable for community needs of alert and response of earthquake and tsunami disaster. This research meets conclusion that 'Smart Resilient City' model may become a great solution in Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction to cope with the hazard of earthquake and tsunami comprehensively and sustainably.

Global ground-level measurements of elements in ambient particulate matter (PM) can provide valuable information to understand the distribution of dust and trace elements, assess health impacts, and investigate emission sources. We use X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy to characterize the elemental composition of PM samples collected from 27 globally distributed sites in the Surface PARTiculate mAtter Network (SPARTAN) over 2019-2023. Consistent protocols are applied to collect all samples and analyze them at one central laboratory, which facilitates comparison across different sites. Multiple quality assurance measures are performed, including applying reference materials that resemble typical PM samples, acceptance testing, and routine quality control. Method detection limits and uncertainties are estimated. Concentrations of dust and trace element oxides (TEO) are determined from the elemental dataset. In addition to sites in arid regions, a moderately high mean dust concentration (6 μg/m) in PM is also found in Dhaka (Bangladesh) along with a high average TEO level (6 μg/m). High carcinogenic risk (>1 cancer case per 100000 adults) from airborne arsenic is observed in Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kanpur (India), and Hanoi (Vietnam). Industries of informal lead-acid battery and e-waste recycling as well as coal-fired brick kilns likely contribute to the elevated trace element concentrations found in Dhaka.

This paper proposes a novel assistive walker robot, which considers its user's gait. Previous researchers have been developed many assistive walker, and many of them have discussed on obstacles/step avoidance function, path following function and gravity negating gravitational force function. However, by opinions of nursing specialists, the walker is first required to realize safe walking function especially, which prevents falling down of its user. Therefore, it is important to maintain the body balance of its user and considering with the characteristics of its user, the walker should coordinate it according to the walking way of its user. For realizing this, our proposed walker measures the right and left foot gait of its user and estimates its user's body balance by calculating his/her position of center of gravity (COG). Proposed system does not require sensors which are installed on its user's body for practical usage. Using estimated body balance, our proposed walker controls assistance force vector for maintaining body balance stably. A prototype assistive walker, based on the proposed idea is fabricated to help patients walking safely according to their walking gait.

This paper presents a comparison study of modulation techniques of data communication in Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems applied to HST for Jakarta-Bandung. The signalling system is the most crucial part of HST as the center of operation control. CBTC systems are the next generation of signalling technology that adopts the integration of equipment on trains and land base by using wireless communication to collect position information and control signals from trains. The systems can reduce wayside equipment significantly and facilitate other advantages such as high traffic densities and the adoption of single-driver or unmanned trains. The general-purpose 2.4 GHz band usage, which is appropriate for many different regions. The CBTC system has also been made robust enough to prevent signal interferences from other wireless users and reliable for any mission-critical situations. However, LTE-R wireless communication supports more advanced broadband applications to help public safety and railway organizations compared to GSM-R. The ability of Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless communications has been undoubtedly chosen by the leading professional mobile radio communication which faster supports mission-critical voice and broadband services in the future. GMSK modulation (Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying) is proven as an effective form of modulation for GSM-R. Signal transmission phases in the GMSK scheme are continuous and being smoothed by a Gaussian filter. Meanwhile, QPSK (Quadrature Phase Shift Keying) is a suitable modulation scheme for LTE-R. In QPSK, dual information bits are combined into a symbol which is immediately modulated by nominating one within the four possible carrier phase shift states without using another carrier frequency. In the implementation, the selection of the modulation techniques is based on the required specifications and affordability of the infrastructures.

Hemoglobin is the protein molecule that binds oxygen in the blood. Hemoglobin level can be used as a benchmark of the human physiological condition, such as anemia, hypoxia, and postoperative bleeding. Generally, measurement of hemoglobin levels is performed by an invasive method that takes blood samples to be tested. This study offers a tele-monitoring system for measuring the hemoglobin level non-invasively, so it could reduce the possibility of infection or contamination to the body and can be monitored anywhere by using a website. This tele-monitoring device of non-invasive hemoglobin and oxygen saturation levels were designed by integrating the pulse oximetry sensor with signal conditioning circuit, Arduino Uno as a microcontroller, Ethernet module, an internet network, cloud server, and website. Pulse oximetry measured the oxygen saturation in the blood that indicate the vital state of human and became essential to determine the amount of hemoglobin level. The system performance in this study was tested on participants who had a good daily exercise and participants who never had daily activities to discover the correlation between hemoglobin levels with human physical activity and obtained 89% of accuracy. This system can be implemented as a personal device for monitoring the hemoglobin level and the oxygen saturation in daily used.
