Microwave transmission lines in wearable systems are easily damaged after frequent mechanical deformation,posing a severe threat to wireless ***,we report a new strategy to achieve stretchable microwave transmission lines with superior reliability and durability by integrating a self-healable elastomer with serpentine-geometry plasmonic meta-waveguide to support the spoof surface plasmon polariton(SSPP).After mechanical damage,the self-healable elastomer can autonomously repair itself to maintain the electromagnetic performance and mechanical ***,the specially designed SSPP structure exhibits excellent stability and damage *** if the self-healing process has not been completed or the eventual repair effect is not ideal,the spoof plasmonic meta-waveguide Can still maintain reliable ***-healing material enhances strength and durability,while the SSPP improves stability and gives more tolerance to the self-healing *** design coordinates the structural design with material synthesis to maximize the advantages of the SSPP and self-healing material,signifcantly improving the relability and durability of stretchable microwave transmission *** also perform communication quality experiments to demonstrate the potential of the proposed meta-waveguide as interconnects in future body area network systems.

This paper presents a microservices-driven digital twin (DT) model for precision farming in controlled indoor environments, addressing the critical need for scalable, modular, and real-time agricultural systems. As the global demand for food rises, integrating Industry 4.0, IoT, edge, and cloud computing technologies becomes essential to improve farming process. The proposed model enhances scalability, modularity, and real-time decision making through decentralized data processing. A master-agent containerized computing architecture was employed to reduce latency and optimize environmental control. Moreover, the integration of a Kalman filter improved the accuracy of key environmental parameter adjustments. This research explored how this model can be scaled for larger farming operations and addresses challenges in system interoperability and implementation. Future work will expand this research to diverse agricultural settings, real-world validation, and ensuring data privacy and security. This study provides a framework for advancing precision farming through digital twin technology.

Anomalous enhancement of Néel order in the S = 1 /2 square lattice Heisenberg model under fictitious magnetic field

Fictitious magnetic fields can be introduced in quantum magnets by strain engineering and the Aharonov-Casher effect. Here, we study impacts of a uniform fictitious magnetic field and corresponding Landau quantization on the Néel order in the S = 1 /2 Heisenberg model on the square lattice as a prototypical system of quantum magnets. We first analyze the system by using the spin-wave approximation. It is found that the staggered magnetization is enhanced by the fictitious magnetic field and it shows a simple scaling behavior with respect to the magnetic length, in contrast with a naive expectation based on the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction. We also perform density matrix renormalization group calculations to fully consider quantum effects and obtain quantitatively more accurate results. The enhancement is found to be anomalously strong and it shows a non trivial scaling behavior or a fluctuation induced discontinuity. These results are beyond the well-known understanding of correlated systems under magnetic fields called the magnetic catalysis. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Quantized polarization in a generalized Rice-Mele model at arbitrary filling

We discuss the charge polarization in a generalized Rice-Mele model at arbitrary particle filling per site as a model of charge ordered systems in one dimension. The model possesses neither the conventional bond-centered inversion symmetry nor the one site translation symmetry alone, but has combinations of these symmetries. We show that the charge polarization in the ground state is quantized by the combined symmetry and is characterized solely by the filling. Especially, the polarization can be 1/2 (mod 1) in the zero filling limit. Under the open boundary condition, there exist excess charges accumulated near edges of the system irrespective of existence or absence of edge modes. Correspondingly, we decompose the polarization into a bulk contribution and an edge contribution, and numerically demonstrate that the polarization is dominated by the former (latter) when the energy gap is small (large). We also discuss a simple generalization of our model and examine absence/existence of a gapless edge mode protected by the inversion symmetry by introducing intra unit cell and inter unit cell contributions of the charge polarization. Mechanism of skyrmion condensation and pairing for twisted bilayer graphene

When quantum flavor Hall insulator phases of itinerant fermions are disordered by strong quantum fluctuations, the condensation of skyrmion textures of order parameter fields can lead to superconductivity. In this work, we address the mechanism of skyrmion condensation by considering the scattering between (2+1)-dimensional Weyl fermions and hedgehog-type tunneling configurations of order parameters that violate the skyrmion-number conservation law. We show the quantized, flavor Hall conductivity (σxyf) controls the degeneracy of topologically protected, fermion zero-modes, localized on hedgehogs. The overlap between zero-mode eigenfunctions or 't Hooft vertex is shown to control the nature of the paired states. Employing this formalism for the N=2 model of twisted bilayer graphene, we describe the competition among flavor Hall orders, charge 4e− superconductivity, and various charge 2e− paired states in BCS and paired-density-wave channels. At charge neutrality, we show that the competition between flavor Hall insulators and charge 2e− states can be captured by SO(9) nonlinear sigma models. If the topological pairing mechanism can dominate over the conventional pairing mechanism, our work predicts the flavor-symmetry-preserving charge 4e− superconductivity as a natural candidate for the paired state in the vicinity of the charge neutral point.

This paper explores the integration of Digital Twin (DT) technology and machine learning (ML) techniques for predictive maintenance in electric vehicles (EVs), particularly focusing on fault diagnosis in electric motors (EMs). DT technology, which creates a digital replica of a physical entity, combined with real-time sensor data analytics, offers significant potential for improving the reliability and operational efficiency of EMs under variable and intense conditions. By incorporating advanced ML models like Transformers, which are adept at capturing long-range dependencies, into the DT framework, the study addresses critical challenges in fault diagnosis under non-stationary conditions typical in EVs. The research introduces a novel approach that combines Transformers with convolutional layers to enhance the fault diagnosis capabilities by effectively capturing complex patterns in time-series data. Furthermore, incremental learning is proposed within the DT framework to adapt to evolving environments and maintain high diagnostic performance, aiming for domain invariance in fault diagnosis models. The paper evaluates various deep learning models, including Transformers, FCNs, CNNs, Inception, ResNet, and MLP, across metrics such as accuracy, training duration, and inference time, identifying CNNs and FCNs as optimal due to their balance between performance and processing time. This study not only demonstrates the feasibility of advanced ML techniques in enhancing DT-based fault diagnosis but also provides insights into selecting appropriate models for predictive maintenance applications in EVs, highlighting the potential for future research in adapting these technologies to different datasets and operational scenarios.

Digital in-line holographic microscopy (DIHM) offers a low-cost, phase-stable, and non-invasive approach for quantitative phase microscopy (QPM), capturing complete wavefront information. Despite its advantages, the spatial resolution of DIHM is constrained by the diffraction limit, as with all optical microscopy systems. To address this limitation, we integrate microsphere-assisted microscopy (MAM) with DIHM. First, we validate the concept using a high-magnification objective lens to resolve a Blu-ray disc grating, a widely recognized standard for demonstrating super-resolution. To emphasize the repeatability, practicality, and broad accessibility of the approach, we further apply it with a low-magnification and widely available objective lens to resolve the phase grating of a compact disc (CD), whose line period is beyond the resolution limit of that objective lens. This highlights the adaptability of the technique, enabling both high-resolution imaging with advanced objectives and resolution enhancement for more accessible and cost-effective systems. Our results demonstrate the potential of this flexible and reproducible method for diverse applications, including biological research and surface profilometry. © 2025 SPIE.

We have previously reported spontanous formation of InGaN/GaN superlattice structure on nominal InGaN films grown by plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy (PAMBE). In this work, we report on the impact of In flux on the formation and periodicity of self-assembled InxGa1-xN/InyGa1-yN superlattice structure (SASL). We show that the thickness and In composition in the InGaN layer varies by changing the In flux. These films were stucturally characterized by X-ray diffraction and simulated by globalfit software to get the thickness and In composition. The superlattice structures were confimred by scanning transmission electron microscopy and the thickness of InGaN layer and In composition were determined by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. This work can provide a method for using the SASL with better control for their optoelectronics application. © 2022 IEEE.
