A reliable connected digital railways must face a huge challenge of network and frequency planning in order to deploy a dedicated infrastructure for High Speed Rail (HSR). This paper investigates the parameter identification of signal attenuation for HSR in a free space propagation case. A neural network based optimization of Grey Box Neural Network (GBNN) is utilized to validate the parameter identification results. Satisfying results of minimum convergences of RMSE = 1.6371 and MAPE = 0.015 have been achieved. Furthermore, the ability of identified parameter in adjusting the dynamic scenario of the real signal attenuation measurement dataset is displayed when the distance is 118.45 meter and the path loss value is 116.82 dB. Through this applied neural network based technique, network designers are able to plan and design the best possible of network performances and frequency planning for HSR. © 2023 IEEE.

Multicolor microscopy and super-resolution optical microscopy are two widely used techniques that greatly enhance the ability to distinguish and resolve structures in cellular *** methods have individually transformed cellular imaging by allowing detailed visualization of cellular and subcellular structures,as well as organelle ***,integrating multicolor and super-resolution microscopy into a single method remains challenging due to issues like spectral overlap,crosstalk,photobleaching,phototoxicity,and technical *** challenges arise from the conflicting requirements of using different fluorophores for multicolor labeling and fluorophores with specific properties for super-resolution *** propose a novel multicolor super-resolution imaging method called phasor-based fluorescence spatiotemporal modulation(Phasor-FSTM).This method uses time-resolved detection to acquire spatiotemporal data from encoded photons,employs phasor analysis to simultaneously separate multiple components,and applies fluorescence modulation to create super-resolution ***-FSTM enables the identification of multiple structural components with greater spatial accuracy on an enhanced laser scanning confocal microscope using a single-wavelength *** demonstrate the capabilities of Phasor-FSTM,we performed two-color to four-color super-resolution imaging at a resolution of~λ/5 and observed the interactions of organelles in live cells during continuous imaging for a duration of over 20 *** method stands out for its simplicity and adaptability,seamlessly fitting into existing laser scanning microscopes without requiring multiple laser lines for excitation,which also provides a new avenue for other super-resolution imaging technologies based on different principles to build multi-color imaging systems with the requirement of a lower budget.

A methodology for the diagnosis of sensor faults in wind farms is introduced. Simulations are performed using a multi-domain model that integrates mechanical, electromagnetic, electronic control, and power grid components. The prevalent issue of intermittent sensor failures is addressed. The discrete wavelet transform is employed for feature extraction. The transient signals are processed effectively. Various wavelet families are evaluated to identify optimal candidates for fault diagnosis. Additionally, the methodology integrates three machine learning classifiers, achieving accuracy rates consistently exceeding 99%. The outcomes demonstrate the advantages of this approach in terms of enhanced accuracy. This research represents a significant advancement in sensor fault diagnosis, contributing valuable insights for the operation and maintenance of renewable energy systems. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

One strategy for emission reduction in Indonesia is the dedieselization program, replacing diesel power plants with renewables. Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) type Small Modular Reactor (SMR) is also a consideration. This study aims to compare fuel performance in SMRs. Four fuel types with varying fissile and fertile nuclides but equal fissile mass percentages were assessed: U235- U238, U235-Th232, U233-U238, and U233-Th232, using PIJ SRAC 2006 and JENDL 4.0. Parameters include neutron multiplication factor, conversion ratio, and isotope production. Results indicated that U233-U238 has a highest initial neutron multiplication factor, 1.55. Substituting uranium-238 with thorium-232 boosts neutron flux and conversion, reducing nuclear proliferation risk. While initial neutron multiplication may not be highest, thorium-232 can produce uranium-233 with high initial neutron multiplication factor. This research aids fuel selection for Indonesia SMR dedieselization program. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Mg-Sn alloy thin films have garnered significant attention for their outstanding thermoelectric (TE) properties and cost-effective elemental composition, making them potential candidates for wearable energy harvesting devices. While previous studies have explored the properties of these thin films, limited research has been conducted to identify physical factors that can further enhance their performance. In this study, we present a novel approach utilizing a convenient electron beam coevaporation technique to fabricate Mg-Sn alloy thin films. Experimental results revealed that controlling the tin content in the Mg-Sn thin films at 38.9% led to the formation of a mixed-phase structure, comprising Mg2Sn and Mg9Sn5. This dual-phase structure exhibited a notable advantage in enhancing the TE performance. The presence of the Mg9Sn5 phase significantly increased the carrier concentration, while maintaining the original Seebeck coefficient and mobility, thereby improving the conductivity of Mg2Sn. Theoretical calculations indicated that the Mg9Sn5 phase displayed 1D-like characteristics, leading to a highly effective valley degeneracy and consequently a high power factor. Overall, this work introduces a promising approach to fabricate high-performance Mg-Sn alloy thin films through electron beam coevaporation, opening up possibilities for their application in wearable energy harvesting devices. © 2024 American Chemical Society.

Importance of experimental methods at research reactors for validation of depletion calculation is discussed. The validation of fuel burnup and nuclide inventory, calculated with stochastic Serpent-2 and hybrid RAPID code system, is performed at JSI TRIGA research reactor. Three different experimental method for indirect burnup determination are presented. The experiments are simulated using Serpent-2 and RAPID depletion codes. First experiment is the fuel rod reactivity worth experiment, in which seven differently burned rods were inserted in the reactor and change in core reactivity was measured. Each insertion was simulated with both codes and great agreement (within 1σ) is observed for both codes. Core's excess reactivity reduction due to burnup was analyzed on three mixed TRIGA cores. Burnup reactivity coefficient was studied with both codes and accurate predictions of reactivity change were obtained. Finally, depleted nuclide inventory is used to simulate dosimetry experiment. Axial profile of 197Au(n, γ)198Au reaction rates was studied using MCNP, where fresh fuel model was compared to the burned fuel model. Fuel burnup was obtained from Serpent-2 and RAPID. The results indicate a 6 % better agreement when Serpent-2 and RAPID's burnup is used. All three experiments indicate a method on how research reactor can be used to in-directly determine and validate nuclear fuel burnup without the use of destructive methods. © 2024 AMERICAN NUCLEAR SOCIETY. In terms of planning aspect,nuclear power plant(NPP)development needs analyses,consideration,and right decision making due to multi criteria *** study prioritizes the best site development of Indonesian NPPs in terms of 21 social,economic,and technical perspectives which comprise transmission network,oper-ating cost,economic impact,geology,geotechnic,seismology,population density,environment,cooling water,meteorology,hydrology,proximity to hazardous facilities,topography,land use,proximity to wetland,evacu-ation route,security,transportation network,legal consideration,impact of tourism,land ownership,historical places,and public acceptance,all identified to be considerations for the best *** Fuzzy algorithms(Chang’s Extent Analysis and Buckley’s Fuzzy AHP)were used to determine the criteria priorities as well as NPP site feasibility of two locations in *** results found that geology,geotechnic,and seismology(SA1);security(SO1),population density(SA2),environment(SA3),and cooling water(SA4)had the highest priorities among the 21 *** on the 5 top priority criteria,West Kalimantan and East Kalimantan provinces serve as the best candidates for the NPP *** an innovative and novel multi criteria Fuzzy AHP–based decision making(MCDM)approach has been proven to become a useful reference to select NPP sites in Indonesia.
