Comprehensive results on the production of unidentified charged particles, π±, K±, K0S, K*(892)0, p, p, φ(1020), Λ, Λ, Ξ−, Ξ+, Ω− and Ω+hadrons in proton-proton (pp) collisions at √s = 7 TeV at midrapidity (|y| T ) spectra of the particles under study and the event activity are measured in different rapidity windows. In the highest multiplicity class, the charged-particle density reaches about 3.5 times the value measured in inelastic collisions. While the yield of protons normalized to pions remains approximately constant as a function of multiplicity, the corresponding ratios of strange hadrons to pions show a significant enhancement that increases with increasing strangeness content. Furthermore, all identified particle to pion ratios are shown to depend solely on charged-particle multiplicity density, regardless of system type and collision energy. The evolution of the spectral shapes with multiplicity and hadron mass shows patterns that are similar to those observed in p-Pb and Pb–Pb collisions at LHC energies. The obtained pT distributions and yields are compared to expectations from QCD-based pp event generators as well as to predictions from thermal and hydrodynamic models. These comparisons indicate that traces of a collective, equilibrated system are already present in high-multiplicity pp collisions. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Inclusive ϒ(1S) and ϒ(2S) production have been measured in Pb–Pb collisions at the centre-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair √sNN = 5.02 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the CERN LHC. The ϒ mesons are reconstructed in the centre-of-mass rapidity interval 2.5 T AA as a function of collision centrality, transverse momentum and rapidity. The ϒ(1S) and ϒ(2S) RAA, integrated over the centrality range 0–90%, are 0.37 ±0.02(stat) ±0.03(syst) and 0.10 ±0.04(stat) ±0.02(syst), respectively, leading to a ratio RϒAA(2S)/RAAϒ(1S) of 0.28 ±0.12(stat) ±0.06(syst). The observed ϒ(1S) suppression increases with the centrality of the collision and no significant variation is observed as a function of transverse momentum and rapidity. We present the measurement of a new set of jet shape observables for track-based jets in central Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. The set of jet shapes includes the first radial moment or angularity, g;the momentum dispersion, pTD;and the difference between the leading and sub-leading constituent track transverse momentum, LeSub. These observables provide complementary information on the jet fragmentation and can constrain different aspects of the theoretical description of jet-medium interactions. The jet shapes were measured for a small resolution parameter R = 0.2 and were fully corrected to particle level. The observed jet shape modifications indicate that in-medium fragmentation is harder and more collimated than vacuum fragmentation as obtained by PYTHIA calculations, which were validated with the measurements of the jet shapes in proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV. The comparison of the measured distributions to templates for quark and gluon-initiated jets indicates that in-medium fragmentation resembles that of quark jets in vacuum. We further argue that the observed modifications are not consistent with a totally coherent energy loss picture where the jet loses energy as a single colour charge, suggesting that the medium resolves the jet structure at the angular scales probed by our measurements (R = 0.2). Furthermore, we observe that small-R jets can help to isolate purely energy loss effects from other effects that contribute to the modifications of the jet shower in medium such as the correlated background or medium response. A survey on classification of maintenance fund for high rise residential building in Klang Valley

High-rise residential building is a type of housing that has multi-dwelling units built on the same land. This type of housing has become popular each year in urban area due to the increasing cost of land. Unfortunately, there are several issues occurred in managing high rise residential building especially in maintenance fund. Thus, distribution of maintenance fund need to be clarified in order to make it well organised. The purpose of this paper is to identify the classification of maintenance fund distribution at high rise residential building. The survey was done on 170 high-rise residential schemes by using stratified random sampling technique. The scope of this research is within Klang Valley area. This area is rapidly developed with high-rise residential building. The result, there are five classification of maintenance fund identified in managing high-rise residential building scheme namely, management fund for administration and utilities, maintenance fund for exclusive facilities, maintenance fund for basic facilities, maintenance fund for support facilities and management sinking fund.

The transverse momentum (pT) distributions of Λ, Ξ−, and Ω− baryons, their antiparticles, and KS0 mesons are measured in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (pPb) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV over a broad rapidity range. The data, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 40.2 nb−1 and 15.6 μb−1 for pp and pPb collisions, respectively, were collected by the CMS experiment. The nuclear modification factor RpPb, which is defined as the ratio of the particle yield in pPb collisions and a scaled pp reference, is measured for each particle. A strong dependence on particle species is observed in the pT range from 2 to 7 GeV, where RpPb for KS0 is consistent with unity, while an enhancement ordered by strangeness content and/or particle mass is observed for the three baryons. In pPb collisions, the strange hadron production is asymmetric about the nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass rapidity. Enhancements, which depend on the particle type, are observed in the direction of the Pb beam. The results are compared with predictions from epos lhc, which includes parametrized radial flow. The model is in qualitative agreement with the RpPb data, but fails to describe the dependence on particle species in the yield asymmetries measured away from midrapidity in pPb collisions.

The distance learning system has an important role to play in development and expansion of education. Use of digital technology in education makes communication, interaction, storage, and distribution of educational content more efficient (AZAMBUJA, 2013). Today, technology and media are very diverse. Internet Protocol Television, IPTV, is a new vehicle for communication and interactive information that makes new distance learning ideas possible. IPTV has become fundamental because they are highly interactive, they deliver synchronous and asynchronous content at a high quality, and offer an expanding range of options to users. Cultural probe can lead to very promissing results as a qualitative IPTV research tool. It is a proposal of a conceptual model of a learning interface for IPTV. The objective of this article is to describe the development and application process and qualitative research results as a way to collect data using cultural probes to develop a proposal for an IPTV education interface to deliver synchrous and asynchronous content to teach engineering, specifically engineering distance learning via IPTV. Objective and tasks were designed in this study for engineering and communication students and electrical and telecommunication engineering teachers to record observations. The results obtained using this technique can help to develop a proposal for an educational interface that will enable IPTV to be used in distance education to teach engineering. The development and application process of the cultural probes in this article had three steps adapted from the method proposed by Mattelmäki [1]: 1) tuning;2) probe design;3) interpretation and results. Finally, the main points of the experience were cast and discussed considering the results obtained and the protocol used to collect the data. The research aims at developing a Decision Support System (DSS) devoted to manage Postal Delivery Systems (PDSs). In particular, the complex structure of the PDS is analyzed by the Unified Modeling Language diagrams and the main decisions necessary to manage the system are enlightened. Moreover, we focus on the operations of the Postal Automation Centers that are the core of the PDS and have charge the distribution of the outgoing mail to the borough Postal Delivery Centers. Among the decision problems of the Postal Automation Center we focus on the vehicle routing problem. An integer programming formulation is proposed and a real case study of the Italian postal network is solved by a heuristic algorithm. © 2014 IEEE.

The Influence of the Deteriorations in Living Environments on the Health of Disaster Victims Following a Natural Disaster

Relief housings are used to quickly provide disaster victims with a temporary living place whenever there is a natural disaster. However, few previous studies on the influences of the deterioration in living environments on the health of the disaster victims in relief housings might be identified. Therefore, a study on the influence of the deteriorations in living environments on the health of disaster victims following a severe natural disaster has been carried out and the study results are reported in this paper. Field tests on the thermal environment inside relief housings and questionnaire survey on the health of disaster victims in relief housings in Wenchuan earthquake disaster settlement area were performed. The study found that the thermal environment in relief housings was very poor in summer days, and that the deteriorations in the living environment had significantly negative impacts on the disaster victims’ mental state, sleep duration, appetite, and body weight. It also found that frequency of sickness, especially cold and heatstroke increased after moving into the relief housings. In addition, the number of doctor visitings by disaster victims in tents and in prefabricated houses increased by 55.4% and 44.4%, respectively. The study results revealed that it is of great urgency to improve the living environments in relief housings following a natural disaster for the better health of disaster victims.

This paper presents the built glulam wooden structure of the Gipsy entertainment centre in Moscow. It is a rounded framework consisting of laminated frames with different shapes and spans covering a total area of around 1350 sq m with an irregular plan. The investor required the structure to be completed as soon as possible so that the centre could be put back into operation. Construction activity was planned to last during October and November 2012. The dead line was extended for only15 days because it was very difficult to meet the investors' requirements. The architectural solution was changed several times and was finally adopted late in September 2012. The structural analysis was carried out simultaneously with workshop drawings which were made within 12 days. By the end of October until the 10th of November all glulam wooden elements of the structure were made in factory in Slovenia. Assembly at the building site began in the in mid-November and was completed in early December when the cover membrane was mounted. The centre reopened on 14th of December, 2012. This paper presents details of the structural analysis as well as proofs of the buckling stability of the structure modelled using COSMOSM FEA software. Also the joints for continuation of girders that were necessary due to transport in the trucks measuring 13.65 m will be shown. All elements had to be smaller than the length of the cargo space.
