Fractional-order stochastic gradient descent (FOSGD) leverages a fractional exponent to capture long-memory effects in optimization, yet its practical impact is often constrained by the difficulty of tuning and stabilizing this exponent. In this work, we introduce 2SED Fractional-Order Stochastic Gradient Descent (2SEDFOSGD), a novel method that synergistically combines the Two-Scale Effective Dimension (2SED) algorithm with FOSGD to automatically calibrate the fractional exponent in a data-driven manner. By continuously gauging model sensitivity and effective dimensionality, 2SED dynamically adjusts the exponent to curb erratic oscillations and enhance convergence rates. Theoretically, we demonstrate how this dimension-aware adaptation retains the benefits of fractional memory while averting the sluggish or unstable behaviors frequently observed in naive fractional SGD. Empirical evaluations across multiple benchmarks confirm that our 2SED-driven fractional exponent approach not only converges faster but also achieves more robust final performance, suggesting broad applicability for fractional-order methodologies in large-scale machine learning and related domains. © 2025, CC BY.

The proposed antenna with a size of 90 mm x 90 mm, and the ground portion is 64 mm x 64 mm, which material is FR4 glass epoxy substrate with the thickness of 1.6 mm, relative permittivity of 4.3 and loss tangent of 0.023, consists of four modified dipole elements and four power dividers, as shown in Figure. 1. For the multi-band and broadband operation, three dipole antennas were shunted to be a dipole element. The electrical-length of the dipole element can be determined from the one quarter-wave length at the 2.45 GHz, 5.5 GHz and 6.525 GHz, for covering 2400 MHz-2500 MHz, 5150 MHz-5850 MHz and 5925 MHz-7125 MHz. In order to operates in various modes such as normal mode and axial mode, the modified four port triple-band microstrip series power divider was designed. In normal mode, it radiates horizontally polarized waves where as in axial mode, it radiates circularly polarized waves. The radiated patterns of the proposed antenna as shown in Figure. 2. The features of the proposed antenna are shown in the Table I. Impressive radiated gains and efficiencies are obtained.

A vast number of technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) have proliferated into various application domains. As part of its objectives to develop agents which can behave and think like humans, some branches of AI have focused on developing various algorithms that can learn from input data without explicitly being programmed. In the food industry, notably in restaurants, smartphone technology is typically used to collect data from customers efficiently such as orders or feedback toward the services provided. The use of smartphones by some restaurants is motivated by their convenience and efficiency. Furthermore, various promotions, discounts, and membership benefits offered by cellular service providers have attracted the use of smartphones as devices for improving restaurant services to their customers. This study aimed to conduct a sentiment analysis related to multi-brand restaurants in Indonesia based on customer feedback. The data retrieved from the Google Play Store consists of 756 reviews from Boga, Champs, Hangry, Ismaya, Kulo, and Union groups. In this study, TF-IDF was used as a vectorizer to represent customer feedback as numeric vectors. The polarity sentiment of customer feedback was recognized using classifier models based on machine learning such as Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes (NB), Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) as the classifier. The empirical results showed that SVM has the best accuracy of 93.10 % average accuracy followed by Logistic Regression with 92.41 %, Random Forest with 84.14 % average accuracy, and Naive Bayes with 76.55 % average accuracy. © 2022 IEEE.

Peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading, commonly recognized as a decentralized approach, has emerged as a popular way to better utilize distributed energy resources (DERs). In order to better manage this user-side decentralized approach from a system operator's point of view, this paper proposes an optimal operation approach for distribution system operators (DSO), comprising internal prosumers who engage in P2P transactions. The DSO is assumed to be a financial neutral entity, holding the responsibility of aggregating the surplus energy and deficit demand of prosumers after their P2P transactions while dispatching DERs and considering network integrity. Impacts of P2P transactions on DSO's optimal operation have been studied. Results indicate that energy matching P2P trading where only the total amount of energy over a given period of time is defined may affect quantities of energy exchanged between the DSO and the wholesale market, but not internal dispatch decisions of the DSO. Different levels of real-time power consistency may lead to different total surpluses in the distribution network. For the real-time power matching P2P trading, as a special case of energy matching P2P trading, the provided energy and total surplus are not affected. In other words, DSO can safely ignore P2P transactions if they follow the format defined in this paper. Case studies verify these conclusions and further demonstrate that P2P trading will not affect physical power flow of the whole system, but the financial distribution between the DSO and prosumers. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

This paper presents a realistic power transformer condition assessment and Health Index (HI) determination technique. The real-time operating data of twenty-seven power transformers of Bhutan Power Corporation Limited in transmission substations are used for condition evaluation. The diagnostic test data are combined into nine diagnostic groups for condition assessment. The conventional method of scoring and weighting average and the fuzzy logic methods are adopted for the condition assessment of power transformers. The excel program was developed for the conventional method for seamless evaluation. All the parameters harmonies the estimation and classification of the transformer operating condition. Then, this paper proposed new procedures for validating the conventional system of HI determination by the fuzzy logic method. © 2022 IEEE.

Java, recognized for its reliability and portability in object-oriented programming, has found application in diverse systems such as enterprise servers, smartphones, and embedded systems. To facilitate self-study in Java programming, we have developed Java programming Learning Assistant System (JPLAS) that provides a range of exercise problems tailored to support novice students at different skill levels. In this paper, we implement the web-based personal platform for JPLAS using ***, named NPLAS. Docker is adopted for its easy and solid deployments to novice students. The instance file update function is incorporated to help a teacher to distribute the files of the new/updated problem instances to the students, using Angular and Laravel. In addition, we extend NPLAS to Python programming learning. For evaluations, we asked teachers and students in three universities in Japan and Indonesia, to install NPLAS, solve instances on it, and update instance files. Then, all of them could successfully complete them, which confirms the efficiency and validity of the proposal. © 2024, International Association of Engineers. All rights reserved.

This paper proposes a performance analysis of using a static volt-amp-reactive (VAR) compensator for a three-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG) operating as a single-phase induction generator. The study proposes appropriate capacitor for building up voltage supplying power to load with static VAR for regulating terminal voltage. The simulation model is analyzed by using MATLAB/Simulink under various conditions such as reactive power supplied, dynamic response, steady state, building up voltage for startup, linear load, non-linear load and harmonics in system. From the study (based on the study, the findings revealed it is found) that using the static VAR compensator connected in parallel with loads for supplying reactive power to the load systems is needed for maintaining terminal voltage.

The problems of high voltage equipment usually come from the imperfection of solid insulation, which may be caused by poor workmanship during cable installation, leading to multi-void inside solid insulation and subsequently partial discharge when that cable is put in service. Therefore, this paper aims to investigate the discharge phenomena of multi-void inside solid insulation by creating artificial defects in epoxy resin and testing under AC and very low frequency voltage sources. The test object consists of a single void with different void diameters and multi-void created by injecting the air voids at atmospheric pressure into epoxy resin. The partial discharge inside a single void and multi-void is detected by using a conventional and unconventional sensor. The results of PD measurement are represented in the phase-resolved partial discharge (PRPD) and several partial discharge parameters, such as PD charge magnitude and PD repetition rate. In addition, the results are analyzed to observe the impact of the multi-void with different conditions such as variable void diameter, the thickness of epoxy resin, type of voltage source, and PD sensor. The test can specify trends toward breakdown and the severity of multi-void inside solid insulation. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents the Partial Discharge (PD) investigation of defective medium voltage (3.6/6(7.2) kV) cable terminations and the impact of using different voltage sources namely AC 50 Hz and Very Low Frequency (VLF) voltage source of 0.1 Hz as supply voltage. The PD is detected by High Frequency Current Transformer (HFCT). Electric field stress investigation is carried out by using Finite Element Method Magnetic (FEMM) simulation tool. The defective cable terminations used are no-stress control, needle tip on insulation screen and sandpaper scrubbed termination. PD investigation is carried out by applying 50 Hz and 0.1 Hz voltage sources and Partial Discharge Inception Voltage (PDIV), Partial Discharge Extinction Voltage (PDEV), PD magnitude and Pulse Repetition Rate are recorded. The comparison of PDIV values demonstrates the impact of different voltage sources. © 2022 IEEE.

The manufacturing industry is undergoing a major transformation based on the emerging industry 4.0 technologies, such as cloud computing, big data, internet of things and cyber-physical systems. These novelty technologies aim at providing central management for the user’s flexible manufacturing requirements and information. Also, the advent of these technologies has transformed the process planning and became crucial for the building of knowledge-based process planning environments. However, current praxis cannot deal with all semantic issues within this new paradigm, as requirements must be clear, consistent, measurable, stand-alone, testable, unambiguous, unique and verifiable. In this context, multicriteria decision analysis models have gained focus of the scientific and industrial communities as a support tool for the decision-making process in the product development and advanced manufacturing as these processes excel in environments with numerous and conflicting alternatives, providing the optimal alternative. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to highlight the current issues and research tendencies regarding ontology-based interoperability systems, multicriteria decision analysis and their integration. To achieve this goal, it will be applied a literature review on the targeted technologies, discussing the current tendencies of the field and the main issues regarding their implementation and integration. Finally, the paper points themes for further research and indicates viable concepts that can compose a solution for the gaps in a systematic manner. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
