Amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (a-IGZO) has recently made significant advancement as a key material for electronic component design owing to its compatibility with complementary metal oxide semiconductor technologies. A comprehensive analysis of reliability-related issues is required to determine the true potential of a-IGZO-based devices for next-generation electronics applications. To address this objective, we electrically characterize scaled-channel a-IGZO thin film transistors (TFTs) under positive bias (temperature) stress (PB(T)S). Both PBS and PBTS are characterized by positive and negative V_th shift, respectively, during the various gate stresses. In particular, the negative V_th shift is explained by the generation of donor-like traps stimulated by ionization of oxygen vacancy/hydrogen at elevated temperature. The TFTs exhibit relatively decent stability during the PBS operation. The analysis of devices with variant channel dimensions implies that long-channel devices exhibit relatively higher stability and performance compared to the short-channel ones. We also observe that the V_th can be controllably adjusted by employing the top gate (TG) with bottom gate sweep. Moreover, the stress-induced partial recovery mechanism is experimentally observed owing to detrapping of charges. Generally, the reported results infer a perceptive understanding of scaled-channel a-IGZO-TFTs which helps with shaping performance-enhancement strategies. © 2024 The Author(s). In the digital transformation era, Metaverse offers a fusion of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and web technologies to create immersive digital experiences. However, the evolution of the Metaverse is slowed down by the challenges of content creation, scalability, and dynamic user interaction. Our study investigates an integration of Mixture of Experts (MoE) models with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) for mobile edge computing to revolutionize content creation and interaction in the Metaverse. Specifically, we harness an MoE model's ability to efficiently manage complex data and complex tasks by dynamically selecting the most relevant experts running various sub-models to enhance the capabilities of GAI. We then present a novel framework that improves video content generation quality and consistency, and demonstrate its application through case studies. Our findings underscore the efficacy of MoE and GAI integration to redefine virtual experiences by offering a scalable, efficient pathway to harvest the Metaverse's full potential. © 2024, CC BY.

With recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, unmanned vehicle swarms have received great attention from both academia and industry due to their potential to provide services that are difficult and dangerous to perform by humans. However, learning and coordinating movements and actions for a large number of unmanned vehicles in complex and dynamic environments introduce significant challenges to conventional AI methods. Generative AI (GAI), with its capabilities in complex data feature extraction, transformation, and enhancement, offers great potential in solving these challenges of unmanned vehicle swarms. For that, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive survey on applications, challenges, and opportunities of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms. Specifically, we first present an overview of unmanned vehicles and unmanned vehicle swarms as well as their use cases and existing issues. Then, an in-depth background of various GAI techniques together with their capabilities in enhancing unmanned vehicle swarms are provided. After that, we present a comprehensive review on the applications and challenges of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms with various insights and discussions. Finally, we highlight open issues of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms and discuss potential research directions. © 2024, CC BY.

We report the design of a nanophotonic metaloxide front contact aimed at perovskite solar cells(PSCs)to enhance optoelectronic properties and device stability in the presence of ultraviolet(UV)***-quality Cr-doped ZnO film was prepared by industrially feasible magnetron sputter deposition for the electron transport layer of *** a means,the influence of the Cr content on the film and device was systematically ***-depth device optics and electrical effects were studied using advanced three-dimensional opto-electrical multiphysics rigorous simulations,optimizing the front contact for realizing high *** numerical simulation was validated by fabricating PSCs optimized to reach high performance,energy conversion efficiency(ECE)=17.3%,open-circuit voltage(V_(OC))=1.08 V,short-circuit current density(J_(SC))=21.1 mA cm^(-2),and fillfactor(FF)=76%.Finally,a realistic front contact of nanophotonic architecture was proposed while improving broadband light absorption of the solar spectrum and light harvesting,resulting in enhanced quantum efficiency(QE).The nanophotonic PSC enables J_(SC)improvement by~17%while reducing the reflection by 12%,resulting in an estimated conversion efficiency over 23%.It is further demonstrated how the PSCs’UV-stability can be improved without considerably sacrificing optoelectronic *** of nanophotonic designed ZnO:Cr front contact,PSCs device,and fabrication process are described.

Isolated power systems are typically found in rural areas that are far separated from the power grid. Rapid decrease in BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) cost provides new opportunities and preferences for utilities to store cheap energy at low loads and power out that energy at peak loads. BESS is installed to shave or level demand during peak hours in an isolated system can avoid the use of peaking generations mostly coming from oil fuels. Considering the BESS function for peak shaving, the approach is to simulate the unit commitment of different battery sizes at 10 MW, because the use of oil fuels about 10 MW at peak load, so the simulation will be representing the total energy of the battery needed by the system. Based on the simulation, the life cycle cost is significantly greater than the benefit at all power and energy ratings. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the comprehensive technical and financial analysis needs to find the optimum battery type and capacity to provide optimum impact and financially benefit the system with an approach to shaving peaks and energy costs. A study-case method is demonstrated by taking an isolated system as the base and BESS performance can accelerate voltage in the subsystem for every substation when discharging at peak load. The simulation results that 10 MW/10 MWh lithium-ion batteries provide the highest benefit compared to the life cycle cost.

Humans communicate with one another in the form of language. However, in social life, not all humans, as well as deaf people, can communicate verbally well. They tend to communicate with others using sign language. One of the sign language systems in Indonesia is SIBI. In its application, there are many obstacles when deaf or speech-impaired people communicate with normal people. This happens because of the lack of understanding of sign language in people who do not have special needs. The existence of a sign language translator system can overcome these obstacles. The development of this system utilizes the Neural Network Backpropagation algorithm as its classification algorithm. This research aims to find the best combination of its parameters based on the obtained accuracy.

The development of the internet is getting faster, participating in encouraging the emergence of new and innovative information. In filtering the various information that appears, we need a recommended system to perform well for users in today's internet era. A well-performing recommendation system in question is a reliable recommendation algorithm. This algorithm is fundamental to analyzing various information, such as responses on social media based on user behavior data related to the topic of COVID. This data is crawled from tweets on social media Twitter. The data analysis algorithm obtained uses Python, which is then visualized in the form of a diagram. The processed data is user comments on Twitter, and the text data is analyzed using Python, using more than 60000 data sets taken to form visualizations and conclusions. From sentiment analysis, polarity and subjectivity data are obtained to be analyzed, which are negative, neutral, or positive. The result is show positive tweets with 29.2%, negative tweets is 13%, and 57.8% neutral tweets. Lastly, sentiment analysis can help people effectively infer vast and complex data from social media like Twitter. © 2022 IEEE.

Assessment of force control improvement induced by sinusoidal vibrotactile stimulation in dominant and non-dominant hands

Purpose: Vibrotactile stimulation has been shown to improve sensorimotor integration in the central nervous system, thereby enhancing motor performance in several conditions. Here we aim to address two questions: (1) Would lateral asymmetries yielding handedness influence the force control improvement induced by sinusoidal vibrotactile stimulation? (2) Does the force control improvement depend on finding an optimum stimulus intensity? Methods: Eleven participants performed a visually guided force-matching task, while different intensities of sinusoidal vibrations were applied to the index finger skin. Tasks consisted of abductions of the index fingers of dominant and non-dominant hands at 5% of their maximal voluntary contractions. The force coefficient of variation (CoV) in the condition without vibration was used as the reference (control) for later comparison with five vibration intensities. Also, force CoV in the control condition was compared with those obtained from the optimal vibration selected either from both hands or from a single hand (the one that started the experiment). Results: Despite the known sensory asymmetries in cortical and spinal circuits, handedness did not significantly influence the improvement of force control induced by sinusoidal vibrotactile stimulation during low-intensity contractions. Moreover, there was a significant reduction in force variability irrespective of the criteria used to select the vibration intensity. Conclusion: These findings add to the current knowledge on the effects of sinusoidal vibrotactile stimulation on force control and have potential implications for the development of wearable motor enhancer devices. © 2020, Sociedade Brasileira de Engenharia Biomedica.

An OFDM transmission is robust to the multipath delay due to the addition of a cyclic prefix (CP). However, it will suffer from an inter-block-interference (IBI) under a severe long delay multipath channel whose channel impulse response (CIR) is longer than that of the CP. Since extending the CP leads to the loss of spectrum efficiency, some compensation scheme is needed to cope with the interference. The iterative interference cancellation with a channel code is effective even such a severe multipath channel because more reliable symbols can be obtained. Whereas a convolutional code has been mainly examined in the previous work, this paper considers a LDPC code. In the simulation, the performance of LDPC coded MIMO-OFDM systems with the iterative cancellation receiver is evaluated under such a severe long delay multipath channel in terms of bit-error-rate (BER) and block-error-rate (BLER). The results show that the performance can be improved by a few iterations. © 2020 IEEE.

The affordability and functionality of hand prosthetics in developing countries are still very limited. This work aims to present and evaluate the new version of the PrHand affordable robotic prosthesis (PrHand V3), built with soft robotics and compliant mechanisms. PrHand V3 implements a new frictionless tendon unification system, the degree of freedom of thumb opposition was removed, and the finger flexion was improved to the previous version, PrHand V2. The study contributes by evaluating these mechanical changes and conducting the first functional assessment of PrHand V3 with an amputee user. The Anthropomorphic Hand Assessment Protocol (AHAP) dexterity test was the first evaluation in this work; it evaluated how the prosthesis performs eight different grips. PrHand V3 was compared with a PrHand V2 and a commercial robotic prosthesis A3D from Prótesis Avanzadas SAS. PrHand V3’s score on the AHAP test was 80%. This result is higher than the 69% obtained by the PrHand V2 and the 79% obtained by A3D. The Activities Measure for Upper Limb Amputees (AM-ULA) test was the second evaluation in this work; An A3D amputee user performed 23 Activities of Daily Living with PrHand V3 and an A3D. PrHand V3 obtained an average of 2.86/4 and A3D obtained an average of 2.96/4 without significant differences between the two tests. The soft actuation of PrHand V3 as an affordable prosthesis performs similarly to a commercial robotic prosthesis with the advantage of being more flexible to assist a trans-radial hand amputee.
