At the Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe determining accident-prone areas on roads in Lhokseumawe still using manual systems. Determination of accident-prone areas are less effective because the police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe just using the data of the last year and had to repeatedly calculate manually accident-prone areas based on the number of human casualties. In this study the system implementation CUSUM method (Cummulative Summary) to determine the accident-prone areas designed using the web-based programming language PHP. In this system there are three processes to determine areas prone to accidents, the accident rate calculations based on the weighted severity, blacksite calculations using the Z-Score method for determining areas prone to accident blackspots and calculations using the CUSUM method to determine the critical points of an accident. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe years 2009-2013. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper introduces a new breed of four-wire (4W) multilevel shunt compensator to deal with either harmonic or reactive power compensation. The converter configurations are generalized for K-stages and the main benefits of proposed topologies lie on i) multilevel waveforms generation, ii) single dc-link unit and iii) modular characteristic. The configurations are based on cascaded transformers along with three-phase-bridge (TPB) converters. These converters are directly connected to the transformer primary side. A suitable PWM strategy combined with an appropriate transformer turns ratio guarantees the desirable multilevel output waveforms. The modularity feature provides simple maintenance and makes the proposed shunt active power filters (SAPFs) an attractive solution in comparison with conventional configurations. The configuration model and overall control are addressed, as well. Simulation and experimental results are presented for theoretical validation. © 2017 IEEE.

The use of classroom assessment based on multi-representation ability in Mechanics concept

This study aimed to describe the use of classroom assessment based on multi-representation ability. This research used descriptive research method. Research participants were 20 prospective physics teacher at one university in Indonesia, who attended basic physics course. Research instruments used questionnaires and essays test based on multi-representations. The results showed that the learning process only use summative assessment which focuses at the end of material and learning units. Learning process and assessment in Basic Physics Course used one or two representational modes, so those did not facilitate simultaneous representation modes. The result described that only 42% prospective physics teachers representation ability was good category (75-84 attainment) on mathematical representation. The recommendation of this study is to develope learning program, formative, and diagnostic assessment based multi-representation in Basics Physics Course.

This paper discusses the fault tolerance performance of two hybrid six-phase drive systems under single-phase open-circuit fault. The topologies are considered to be hybrid because each of the two three-phase groups of the six-phase machine is connected to a different type of converter. One group is connected to a two-level converter and the other group is connected to a dual converter in an open-end arrangement. A compensation strategy is discussed in order to keep the rated operation even after the occurrence of the fault. The six-phase machine mathematical model after the fault is presented and utilized to elaborate the compensation strategy. Simulation and experimental results show the validity of the discussed solutions. © 2017 IEEE.

The current rapid assessment of post-earthquake damaged houses has been done manually. The determination of the damage level is also very subjective. Moreover, the available time during a rapid assessment and limited number of enumerators lead to ineffective decisions for responses and assistances. There are several application had appeared trying to answer the problems, but still they have many types of data that need to be input and even need a lot of time to process. The system design to be simple, more user-friendly and time efficient to be operated during the assessment. This study is aimed to develop a conceptual design of a system to collect data of houses damaged by earthquake using mobile application which propose to work both online and offline. The system will consists of five components: mobile device, user, data center (web server and database), internet, and data processing center (administrator and manager to verify and analyze the data). The application design to be integrated with Google Maps containing concise data entry to facilitate users (trained users and common users) and to shorten the time of data collection. Final collected data will be presented through the website and perform descriptive and spatial analysis.

For the last two decades, electro-electronic components have become more and more integrated into automotive vehicles, with an increasing importance in essential functions implying the safe overall operation of the car. Although these innovations come as a car performance improvement, it can also have adverse effects (some related to safety) in case of malfunction. These undesirable behaviors can be caused by Electromagnetic Interferences (EMI), and the probability increases when a large number of electro-electronic components act together in the same environment, causing failures that may damage part or the whole system. In Brazil, the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) validation of these systems is currently a relative option and the decision of testing or not (and how deep) is up to each car manufacturer. Moreover, most of these validations are still realized out of Brazil, turning developments more expensive, more time-consuming and underusing Brazilian metrology chain. This paper proposes a study of the Brazilian automotive EMC validation context and a comparison with the worldwide scenario, taking into account its technical, economic and social impacts and bringing arguments to discuss a possible federal regulation. Autism Spectrum Disorder is a pervasive developmental disorder that will affect children in terms of interpersonal communication, social interaction, and imaginative levels in play. Many therapies to help the motor neuron performance is one of them Pretend Play. Pretend Play is a therapy that invites children in playing to demonstrate something else and tell how to use objects that are considered in the child's imagination. However, in the era of highly developed technology, many fields have used the Augmented Reality method as a visualization of various aspects. With this method researchers will present the therapeutic visualization of the block to 3D transportation tool that is useful for strengthening motor nerves and visual strength of the child. The system can run well during marker detection, marker movement, and 3D object display with the accuracy of precision angle and distance between virtual world with real world reach 100% with angle 0 at distance 31 cm and the maximum distance from the marker is 46 cm and the maximum angle is 30˚.

In this paper is presented a new printed monopole antenna, bio-inspired by jasmine flower, that meets the Federal Communications Commission parameters for ultra-wideband systems. The design of the printed monopole antenna in jasmine flower has developed from a printed monopole antenna with circular geometry, with comparison results. The measured results of bio-inspired antenna in the jasmine flower showed compatibility with the parameters required by the FCC for ultra-wideband technology. It obtained bandwidth of 9.75 GHz, half-power beamwidth of 148 degrees, omnidirectional radiation pattern, gain of 5.99 dBi, power spectral density below -41.3 dBm across the bandwidth of ultra-wideband technology, small pulse distortion, and constant group delay, with variations of less than 2ns. © 2016 IEEE.

In this work it is presented an AC-DC-AC synchronization technique that aims to reduce the DC-link current oscillation. The technique is applied to a reduced component count single-phase back-to-back Currente Source Converters (CSC). The deduction of how the DC-link oscillation is influenced by both input and output angles is presented. Experimental and simulation results are provided to validate the theoretical approach and to illustrate the synchronization phenomenon.
