This work investigates strategic management processes of projects involved in the Brazilian aerospace field, addressing the Regional Center of the Amazon of the National Institute of Space Research. It proposes an approach in the monitoring of the evolution of projects by evaluation of professional performance, showing results in graphs and the need to survey and follow the most evident and significant technological advances in the mapping environment of land use and land cover in the Amazon. It addresses the main difficulties faced in the process of managing projects and people to achieve goals, needing to know the Geographic Information System tools used by employees, such as Terramazon, and their respective times consumed in this type of software. The work intends to serve as a basis for investigating, developing and implementing new management options that will reduce the efforts required by managers and administrators during the process of monitoring the evolution of projects. The methodology of Project Management Institute (PMI) and its Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) was used in this research work, ensuring an international quality. © 2018 Portland International Conference on Management of Engineering and technology, Inc. Quantum tunneling phenomenon allows a high-barrier reaction to occur even though thermal energy is not sufficient to surmount the barrier. The phenomenon has been suggested to exist in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene which occured at 11 K. Here we study the quantum tunneling that occured in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde and to vinyl alcohol based on density functional calculations. The isomerization pathways are determined under the effect of various solvents which are modeled by polarizable continuum model (PCM). We use Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation to calculate the tunneling probability (T) and extend the usefulness of T into isomerization rate. The results show that the solvents give a significant effect on the isomerization rate of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde but an insignificant one on the isomerization rate to vinyl alcohol.

This research is needed because the palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) from the plantation were ripening before processing and the length of time when they arrived at the plant, can vary. Therefore, it can affect carotene content and iodine value changes in the mesocarp. Also besides, FFB originating from oil palm plantations in the Ungaran region of Central Java, Indonesia has never been studied. The objective of the research was to examine the carotene content and iodine value in palm fruit bunches on the level of ripening, storage duration of fresh fruit bunch (FFB). A completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 factors was used in this study. The first factor was the level of ripening of palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB), namely: under-ripe, ripe, over-ripe, loose fruit from bunches and the second factor was the shelf-life of FFB, namely: 12 hours of storage, 36 hours storage, 60 hours storage. The research was conducted with 3 repeated treatments. The observed parameters were carotene content, the water content of mesocarp, and the iodine value. The data obtained were processed and analyzed using ANOVA and followed by Duncan (DMRT) at α = 0.05 using SPSS version 25. The results of the study showed that the level of ripening of palm fresh fruit bunches significantly (α = 0.05) affect the carotene content, water content and iodine value. The carotene content of palm fruit bunches from the lowest to the highest is under-ripe, loose fruit from bunches, over-ripe, ripe. For the highest to the lowest fruit mesocarp water content is under-ripe, ripe, overripe, loose fruit from bunches. The highest amount of palm oil iodine was in ripe FFB and followed by over-ripe, under-ripe, loose fruit from bunches. Similarly, the storage duration indicated that there was a case against carotene levels, the water content of mesocarp and iodine value. At 12 hours of storage, carotene content, water content, and iodine value were higher than 36 hours and 60 hours storage.

The aim of this work was to perform chemical and physicochemical analysis of oil of the camu camu (Myrciaria dubia (H.B.K) Mc Vaugh) seeds obtained at Caçari beach, on the banks of the Cauamé river, in Boa Vista city, Roraima state, Brazil. From the seeds, the dark green oil was 2.88% yield. The physical and chemical properties of the oil through the1H and13C NMR spectra: iodine content (55.39 g I2 100g-1), saponification index (178.14 mg KOH g-1), acidity (1.46 mg KOH g-1), olefinic/aliphatic hydrogen ratio (0.36), average molecular weight (934.16 g mol-1). Analysis of the signal displacements in1H and13C NMR spectra confirmed the presence of the fatty acid functional groups and unsaturated fatty acid unsaturations, so the concentration of linolenic acid was 0.43%, acid 12.02% oleic, oleic was 62.49% and saturated fatty acids 25.10%. The quantitative analysis of minerals by ICP-OES showed concentrations of elements: K, Na, P, Si (> 100 ppm);Mg, S (10 to 100 ppm) and Ti (-1). Copyright © 2018, AIDIC Servizi S.r.l.

β-fructofuranosidase (invertase) and β-D-fructosyltransferase (FTase) are enzymes used in industrial processes to hydrolyze sucrose aiming to produce inverted sugar syrup or fructooligosaccharides. In this work, a black Aspergillus sp. PC-4 was selected among six filamentous fungi isolated from canned peach syrup which were initially screened for invertase production. Cultivations with pure carbon sources showed that invertase and FTase were produced from glucose and sucrose, but high levels were also obtained from raffinose and inulin. Pineapple crown was the best complex carbon source for invertase (6.71 U/mL after 3 days of cultivation) and FTase production (14.60 U/mL after 5 days of cultivation). Yeast extract and ammonium chloride nitrogen sources provided higher production of invertase (6.80 U/mL and 6.30 U/mL, respectively), whereas ammonium nitrate and soybean protein were the best nitrogen sources for FTase production (24.00 U/mL and 24.90 U/mL, respectively). Fermentation parameters for invertase using yeast extract were Y_P/S = 536.85 U/g and P_P = 1.49 U/g/h. FTase production showed values of Y_P/S = 2,627.93 U/g and P_P = 4.4 U/h using soybean protein. The screening for best culture conditions showed an increase of invertase production values by 5.10-fold after 96 h cultivation compared to initial experiments (fungi bioprospection), while FTase production increased by 14.60-fold (44.40 U/mL) after 168 h cultivation. A. carbonarius PC-4 is a new promising strain for invertase and FTase production from low cost carbon sources, whose synthesized enzymes are suitable for the production of inverted sugar, fructose syrups, and fructooligosaccharides. © 2019 Gustavo Carvalho do Nascimento et al.

The aim of this work was to perform analysis of the a-tocopherol content by HPLC in Amazonian fruits consumed in Roraima state, Brazil, namely: ata brava, açaí, bacaba, buriti, buritirana, yellow murici, red murici, piaçaba braba, pupunha varieties red and yellow and tucumanzinho. A high concentration of the vitamin in the açaí pulp (1101.11 mg L-1) and of the ata brava seeds (644.27 mg L-1) was observed, but other fruits such as buritirana pulp (166.34 mg L-1), red murici (179.52 mg L-1), and piaçaba brava (8.77 mg L-1) presented low amounts of a-tocopherol. As for the yellow and red varieties of pupunha and the tucumanzinho, no presence of the isomer was detected. Identification and quantification of a-tocopherol cited in this work are unpublished for the ata brava, buritirana and red murici, as for the other fruits studied there were variations. Amazonian fruits may present a-tocopherol in its lipid composition, which is one of the most bioactive isomers of vitamin E, for this reason. Copyright © 2018, AIDIC Servizi S.r.l.
