The aim of this paper is to analyze volleyball practice in the beaches of Copacabana(Rio de Janeiro,Brazil)and Carcavelos and Cascais Bay(Cascais,Portugal)and to review the forms of appropriation of public space based on public policies and rules of the sport in *** methodology rests on bibliographic review and ethnographic research to map and distinguish the results in two spatial and cultural contexts that are considerably *** show that even with greater extension of Copacabana beach in comparison with Cascais,volleyball has a relevant impact in both *** installation of the necessary equipment for volleyball practice is also a form of impact in the landscape and establishment of territoriality,which is mainly activated when the game happens.

The dominance of economic values in the tourism development has caused the decline of other important values, thus make the application of sustainability concept is crucial. As part of Indonesia's priority destinations, this concept is also needed to be applied in Samosir Island. In other hand as a tourism destination, a place must have distinctiveness to differentiate it from other places because tourism is fundamentally a recreational product based on place phenomenon. The research is a study of the value of uniqueness on the environmental elements of sustainable tourism in Samosir Island, North Sumatra, Indonesia. The research used mixed methods where questionnaires were distributed to 105 respondents, field observation was conducted, and in-depth interviews were held with six key informants. The result shows that the existence of the traditional building has a great influence towards the physical integrity of the tourist while the diverse cultural activities in the areas required appropriate strategies in enhancing and supporting the environmental elements of sustainable tourism. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Tourism development is needed because tourism can increase an income in a destination. Ecotourism is a new type of tourism that responsible towards nature, community, and the environment. Ecotourism draws more tourist's interest because besides giving natural tourism experience, they can learn to conserve the nature and involve with the community. Aek Nauli Natural Forest has been opened for public since 2011. However, the tourism is not developing despite of its attraction's potential. This research is focusing on natural attraction as one of the elements of tourism attraction. The aim of this research is to find tourist attractions that have the potential to be developed based on ecotourism in Aek Nauli. This research uses a qualitative method by conducting observation and in-depth interview with key respondents. The result of this research is a concept of potential attraction development based on ecotourism in Aek Nauli. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Ecotourism is not only as a tourist activity nowadays, but has become an activity that contains economic elements, as well as efforts to conserve natural resources and the environment. In regional development, ecotourism focuses on the quality of physical components, but the emotion of place attachments are not adequately considered. To find out the emotional of place attachments on ecotourism, this research was conducted in the mangrove ecotourism area with data collection techniques, namely field observations which were then supported by the distribution of questioners to the community (50) and tourists (50). The results of this study are perceptions between tourists and the local community about emotional of place attachments to the Sicanang Mangrove Forest Ecotourism. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The study of performance assessment based on problem based learning not only done in the field of technical vocational education but also in the health education, economic education, environmental education. The development of performance assessment based on problem based learning is still rare in vocational schools. Using 2013 curriculum which is required to use 21st century learning strategies, one of which is Problem Based Learning (PBL). Performance assessment is said by its advocators to be more in line with instruction than multiple-choice tests. Performance assessment is seen as having a better possibility of measuring more complex skills and communication. This article aims to design based performance assessment based on problem based learning using design based research method. The validation used in this article is expert judgement. The result of the study revealed that the cronbach alpha valu for the entire measurment scale was 0.97. The cronbach alpha value is between 0.8 to 1.00. Therefore , design performance assessment based on problem based learning has a good reability. This article aims to find out how to design performance assessment based on problem based learning for students geomatics engineering. This article provide an overview of the development of design performance assessment based on problem based learning for vocational students.

Economic growth promoted by large investment projects in the city of Seropédica and surrounding areas is not accompanied by a territorial planning that supports future growth scenarios. The challenge of the municipality is to prepare to have its territory fully transformed. This study aimed to establish quantitative data on the interferences that the growth model practiced has caused in its main watercourse called Val?o dos Bois. For this, its morphometric characteristics and physicochemical parameters of water quality were measured, and computational simulations of the self-purification processes were performed at various points, as well as the infiltration and precipitation processes, surface flow and leaching in four occupation scenarios of the urbanized areas of the basin, for rains with five different return periods.

In the last years, architectural practice has been confronted with a paradigm shift towards the application of digital methods in design activities. In this regard, it is a pedagogic challenge to provide a suitable computational background for architectural students, to improve their ability to apply algorithmic-parametric logic, as well as fabrication and prototyping resources to design problem solving. This challenge is even stronger when considering less favored social and technological contexts, such as in Brazil, for example. In this scenario, this article presents and discusses the procedures and the results from a didactic experience carried out in a design computing-oriented discipline, inserted in the curriculum of a Brazilian architecture course. Hence, this paper shares some design computing teaching experiences and presents some results on computational methods and creative approaches, with a view to contribute to a better understanding about the relations between logical thinking, mathematics and architectural design processes.
