In this article, an X-band metasurface is designed and this metasurface array is used as an instrument to increase gain & reduce radar cross section of circularly polarized X-band MIMO antenna through super-state and under-state positioning of array respectively. Absorbance of the metasurface to the intended frequency band (i.e., 6.75GHz-14.0GHz) is more than 90.0%. Metasurface is designed on FR-4 substrate height (Hs) 3.1mm with unit cell dimension of 7.95×7.95×3.1mm3 (0.265λo×0.265λo×0.103λo) at 10GHz. The proposed antenna is also designed on FR-4 substrate with dimensions of 29×23×1.6mm3 (0.966λo×0.766λo×0.0.053λo) at 10GHz. The super-state and under-state positioning of metasurface array over MIMO antenna is increased the gain (peak gain 12.6dBi at 11GHz) and reduced the mono-static RCS (18dBm2) across the band respectively. The characteristic of the antenna is likewise verified by its s-parameters, radiating efficiency, gain and diversity parameters for the intended band. The simulated & measured results are having better harmony which exhibits suitability of the proposed designs for IoT over satellite, military application, and also useful to identify blood clouting in CT-scan application. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

This study investigated Holocene paleolimnological changes inferred from a multi-proxy dataset of C, N, and S elements, biomarkers, and microscopic observations of microalgae and cyanobacteria in sediment cores from two Rundvågshetta lakes (Maruwanminami-ike and Maruwan-oike) in the Soya Coast region of Antarctica, along with sedimentary facies and accelerator mass spectrometry 14C dating. We discuss biological production and sources, the transition from marine to brackish and lacustrine environments in the lakes, paleoenvironmental changes, transition ages, and relative sea level (RSL) falls (or subsidence) from glacial isostatic adjustment (GIA) in the Soya Coast region. The ages of the Maruwanminami-ike (MwS4C-01, length 147 cm) and Maruwan-oike sediment cores (Mw4C-01, length 226 cm) were 1.4 (5.8 cm core depth)–4.9 and 2.3–5.7 cal ker BP, respectively. The local reservoir effects of the Rundvågshetta lakes were very high, possibly because of the influence of dead carbon in the glacially eroded marine sediments and bed rock. The coastal marine environments of Lakes Maruwanminami-ike (4.9–2.6 cal ker BP) and Maruwan-oike (5.7–3.3 cal ker BP) were characterized by low biological production. A transition period marked by a stratified brackish lake environment in Lakes Maruwanminami-ike (2.6–2.4 cal ker BP) and Maruwan-oike (3.3–2.9 cal ker BP) was characterized by stratified conditions with an anoxic layer at the bottom of the photic zone. The freshwater lake environment of Lake Maruwanminami-ike [(65.6–0 cm, 2.4–1.4 (5.8 cm core depth) cal kyr BP)] was characterized by high biological (cyanobacteria and green algae) production, while that of Lake Maruwan-oike (2.9–2.3 cal ker BP) was characterized by low biological production due to the influence of glacial clay. Around 7.2–3.0 cal ka BP in the Holocene was probably a warm period, and progressive glacial retreat with RSL fall occurred during the warm periods in the Soya Coast region. Data from the Plantation Office of East Kalimantan Province, the area of rubber plantations has decreased every year. One of the factors that make productivity of rubber plants low is the presence of pests and diseases. The time limit of an expert is an obstacle in identifying rubber plantations. To overcome this problem, we need an expert system that can identify rubber plant diseases such as an expert. This system was developed to be able to provide solutions in diagnosing rubber plant diseases such as White Root Fungus (Rigidoporus micropus), Upas Mushroom Disease (Corticium salmonicolor), Antraknosa Disease (Colletorichum gloeosporoides), Skin Necrosis (Fusarium sp.), And Cancer Lines (Phytoptora palmivore). This study uses the TOPSIS method. There are four variables used as assessment criteria in this study, namely: the level of damage to the root, the level of damage to the stem, the level of damage to the leaves and the level of damage to the tapping path or the intensity of tapping, with preference values from 0 to 100; none, Very Light Intensity (1), Mild Intensity (3), Medium Intensity (5), Weight Intensity (7) and Very Heavy Intensity (9). Each weight value C1= 0.3; C2= 0.22; C3= 0.28; C4= 0.2. The results of this study compare manual calculations and calculations on the system obtained 99.99% accuracy. This system is expected to help facilitate rubber farmers in identifying diseases and can help experts.

In the cryptographic field, it is a cryptosystem practice to use a secret key together with a cryptographic algorithm parameter. These cryptographic algorithms should produce pseudorandom data to understand better the cryptographic performance of such ciphers. To understand the performance of a cryptographic algorithm a statistical analysis should be performed. In this paper, a randomness analysis of the proposed cryptographic algorithm using combined multilevel substitution and encryption techniques were executed. Statistical test results were presented using NIST STS to measure the randomness behavior of the keystream output. The statistical analysis utilized the non-parameterized test selection, such as cumulative sums, runs test, longest runs of ones, and frequency. The performed experiment used 100 samples with 100 bits in length. The algorithm achieved an average success rate of 99.50% in four statistical tests used. Therefore, it is assumed that the proposed cryptographic algorithm is effective in producing a random ciphertext sequence. For future works, it is then suggested to implement it in software application to boost electronic medical records protection.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a pervasive developmental disorder that will affect children in terms of interpersonal communication, social interaction, and imaginative levels in play. Many therapies to help the motor neuron performance is one of them Pretend Play. Pretend Play is a therapy that invites children in playing to demonstrate something else and tell how to use objects that are considered in the child's imagination. However, in the era of highly developed technology, many fields have used the Augmented Reality method as a visualization of various aspects. With this method researchers will present the therapeutic visualization of the block to 3D transportation tool that is useful for strengthening motor nerves and visual strength of the child. The system can run well during marker detection, marker movement, and 3D object display with the accuracy of precision angle and distance between virtual world with real world reach 100% with angle 0 at distance 31 cm and the maximum distance from the marker is 46 cm and the maximum angle is 30. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Transformative artificially intelligent tools, such as ChatGPT, designed to generate sophisticated text indistinguishable from that produced by a human, are applicable across a wide range of contexts. The technology presents opportunities as well as, often ethical and legal, challenges, and has the potential for both positive and negative impacts for organisations, society, and individuals. Offering multi-disciplinary insight into some of these, this article brings together 43 contributions from experts in fields such as computer science, marketing, information systems, education, policy, hospitality and tourism, management, publishing, and nursing. The contributors acknowledge ChatGPT's capabilities to enhance productivity and suggest that it is likely to offer significant gains in the banking, hospitality and tourism, and information technology industries, and enhance business activities, such as management and marketing. Nevertheless, they also consider its limitations, disruptions to practices, threats to privacy and security, and consequences of biases, misuse, and misinformation. However, opinion is split on whether ChatGPT's use should be restricted or legislated. Drawing on these contributions, the article identifies questions requiring further research across three thematic areas: knowledge, transparency, and ethics;digital transformation of organisations and societies;and teaching, learning, and scholarly research. The avenues for further research include: identifying skills, resources, and capabilities needed to handle generative AI;examining biases of generative AI attributable to training datasets and processes;exploring business and societal contexts best suited for generative AI implementation;determining optimal combinations of human and generative AI for various tasks;identifying ways to assess accuracy of text produced by generative AI;and uncovering the ethical and legal issues in using generative AI across different contexts. © 2023 The Authors

Neural Machine Translation for Cebuano to Tagalog with Subword Unit Translation

—The Philippines is an archipelago composed of 7, 641 different islands with more than 150 different languages. This linguistic differences and diversity, though may be seen as a beautiful feature, have contributed to the difficulty in the promotion of educational and cultural development of different domains in the country. An effective machine translation system solely dedicated to cater Philippine languages will surely help bridge this gap. In this research work, a never before applied approach for language translation to a Philippine language was used for a Cebuano to Tagalog translator. A Recurrent Neural Network was used to implement the translator using OpenNMT sequence modeling tool in TensorFlow. The performance of the translation was evaluated using the BLEU Score metric. For the Cebuano to Tagalog translation, BLEU produced a score of 20.01. A subword unit translation for verbs and copyable approach was performed where commonly seen mistranslated words from the source to the target were corrected. The BLEU score increased to 22.87. Though slightly higher, this score still indicates that the translation is somehow understandable but is not yet considered as a good translation. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This article synthesizes the insights gained through presentations and discussions at the 2023 IEEE Workshop on Norbert Wiener in the 21st Century (21CW2023), which focused on "The Future of Work in the Age of Automation."Hosted at Purdue University, this interdisciplinary convening of technologists, social scientists, and humanists explored the impacts of automation on labor, drawing on Wiener's legacy of insights as a backdrop to examine the technologically mediated future we face in coming decades. The workshop presented a rare opportunity to reflect critically on these issues at a pivotal moment in human and technological history, and to elicit underappreciated dimensions. Areas of focus include: the qualitative and quantitative losses associated with automation and AI, the impacts automation has for questions about the meaningfulness of work, the challenges we face related to uncertainty and lack of predictability in technological advancement, and the opportunities that exist for centering human values and agency in these conversations. While acknowledging many items for concern in the context of automation in the future of work, such as the domination of economic narratives, a potential loss of qualitative texture, and the neglect of certain issues key to human identity, the authors conclude by offering optimistic visions - or calls - for redefining value and labor, preserving human agency, and embracing creative problem-solving. © 2024 IEEE.

Background: Investigations of evolution knowledge and acceptance and their relation are central to evolution education research. Ambiguous results in this field of study demonstrate a variety of measuring issues, for instance differently theorized constructs, or a lack of standardized methods, especially for cross-country comparisons. In particular, meaningful comparisons across European countries, with their varying cultural backgrounds and education systems, are rare, often include only few countries, and lack standardization. To address these deficits, we conducted a standardized European survey, on 9200 first-year university students in 26 European countries utilizing a validated, comprehensive questionnaire, the “Evolution education Questionnaire”, to assess evolution acceptance and knowledge, as well as influencing factors on evolution acceptance. Results: We found that, despite European countries’ different cultural backgrounds and education systems, European first-year university students generally accept evolution. At the same time, they lack substantial knowledge about it, even if they are enrolled in a biology-related study program. Additionally, we developed a multilevel-model that determines religious faith as the main influencing factor in accepting evolution. According to our model, knowledge about evolution and interest in biological topics also increase acceptance of evolution, but to a much lesser extent than religious faith. The effect of age and sex, as well as the country’s affiliation, students’ denomination, and whether or not a student is enrolled in a biology-related university program, is negligible. Conclusions: Our findings indicate that, despite all their differences, most of the European education systems for upper secondary education lead to acceptance of evolution at least in university students. The Influence Computer Based Training Utilization of Learning Outcomes of Solid State Electronics Viewed from Different Learning Style

Experimental learning method offers more experience and knowledge for learners. This research aims to determine the influence of computer based training utilizzation on learning outcomes of solid state electronics viewed from different learning style. Computer Based Training (CBT) is part of Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI), which is learning by using computer aids, such as for presentations as teaching aids and so on. CBT, which refers to Electronics WorkBench (EWB) is a category of software tools that can be used to simulate the workings of an electronic circuit both analog and digital. learning style is the way individuals begin to concentrate on, process, internalize, and remember new and difficult academic information or skill. Using CBT on experimental learning with different learning style could result on different learning outcomes. This research used quantitative approach in quasi-experimental frame. In this research, the compared conditions were the experimental learning method with CBT and analog experimenter and learning style, which were grouped into three, visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning style. The research instrument used were questionnaires and tests, while the data analysis used two ways of ANOVA. The statistical analysis showed that there was difference learning outcomes in Electronica Solid State Subject among experimental learning with CBT and analog experimenter. Furthermore, there was no interaction among the experimental learning with CBT and the learning style in terms of their effect towards learning outcomes.
