Bank as a company that has many customers who conduct transactions every day, of course, has data that is increased continuously. In this paper, customer transaction data has been predicted to find potential customers in deposit offer. Data mining approach has been performed to classify potential customers for marketing through telemarketing. This data analysis can be used as a consideration in determining marketing strategy decisions for marketing managers. 15,713 data with 13 class attributes and 1 target class were obtained from UCI Machine Learning repository. The data was divided into 70% training data and 30% test data. Feedforward method of Artificial Neural Network was used to classify customer data. Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network and Radial Basis Function Neural Network were used to obtain optimal classification results. The result of this classification predicted potential customers to subscribe deposits. The result of this study indicated that the Radial Basis Function Neural Network method with 95.3% accuracy and 96.4% sensitivity was a better method compared to the Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network method with 88.0% accuracy and 99.4% sensitivity.

Efficient production planning requires well-structured models compatible with metaheuristic and other optimization techniques. This study compares three established metaheuristic methods - sanitized-teaching-learning-based optimization (s-TLBO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Differential Evolution (DE) with a termination criterion of equal number of functional evaluations - for profit-maximizing production planning. The focus is on a single-level problem involving complex constraints, non-linear costs, budget and raw material limitations. The paper presents two solution strategies: a penalty-based and a correction-based approach. Analyzing 300 unique instances of the problem reveals that s-TLBO implemented with correction-based approach consistently outperforms the other methods in devising optimal production plans for two Saudi Arabian petrochemical industries with 24 products, 54 processes, and three raw materials for plant 1 and two raw materials for plant 2.

This paper proposes two seven level asymmetric inverter with coupled inductors that enable a reduction in the number of controlled switching devices. However, the lack of redundant states and difference in the maximum pole voltages reduce the performance of the inverters due to higher winding currents and saturation of magnetic core. For mitigating those issues, a coupled inductor with elevated magnetizing inductance is used. The operation principle, conducting states and modulation strategy are described. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of proposed topology.

To enhance production planning efficiency, it’s crucial to have well-structured models that align with metaheuristic and other optimization techniques. This research conducts a comparative analysis of three unique metaheuristic methods: sanitized-teaching-learning-based optimization (sTLBO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), and Differential Evolution (DE) with a termination criterion of equal number of functional evaluations. The primary focus lies on profit-maximizing production planning within a single-level framework, encompassing intricate domain constraints, nonlinear costs, budget limitations and raw material constraints. The paper introduces three correction-based solution approaches. Upon evaluating 300 distinct instances of the problem, the study reveals that s-TLBO integrated with correction-based approach 1 and 3 consistently outperforms the other methods when it comes to devising optimal production plans for a Saudi Arabian petrochemical industry. This industry scenario involves 24 products, 54 processes, and three raw materials.

In this article, we propose a conceptual framework of mobile self-screening to detect breast cancer at the initial stage using temperature characteristics. A trained convolutional neural network (CNN) is implemented to extract and classify the breast thermogram. Moreover, a histogram of temperature distribution is also provided to support a recommendation to the user. As we consider the user's data privacy, reliability, low latency, and low cost, we also suggest some recommendations in inferencing the CNN model on the mobile device. Finally, we describe the application overview to demonstrate the feature function. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper, a relay feedback structure which is robust to disturbances is applied to estimate multiple frequency points of processes with two-inputs two-outputs (TITO). The relay structure is composed of a block to remove static disturbance or drift followed by a relay. This block consists of a simple high-pass filter followed by a relay plus an integrator. Since the relay structure used is able to reject disturbance, during the relay feedback test, a step change and a periodic square wave with frequency lower than the ultimate frequency are applied at the process input. Thus, these frequencies information are used to estimate a FOPTD model in a wider frequency region. The proposed approach is illustrated using the Woody-Berry distillation column model. Simulation examples illustrate that the robust relay structure ensures a symmetric oscillation of the TITO process output, even under disturbances.

In this paper an Active Power Line Conditioner (APLC) is proposed based on a Modular Multilevel Cascade Converter (MMCC) - Double Star Chopper Cells (DSCC) topology. A higher-voltage, low-switching frequency IGBT converter is used to achieve harmonic minimization. Compared to the conventional APLC topology, the proposed approach employs lower DC-link voltage, lower voltage in the power devices, flexible output voltage level, fault protection, less prone to noise, loss reduction, among others features considered in this work. Experimental results show that the proposed active power filter topology is capable of minimizing load harmonics and compensating reactive power at the Point of Commom Coupling (PCC).

The determination of the main magnetic properties of permanent magnets usually requires sophisticated and expensive measuring systems. This work analyzes and proposes a low-cost system for the characterization of Rare-Earth permanent magnets with linear characteristic that is simple to set up. Its magnetic circuit comprehends the permanent magnet under test, a steel yoke, a variable air-gap;a Hall-effect sensor connected to a Gaussmeter measures the flux density within the variable air-gap. The theoretical basis of the proposed measuring system, a description of its assembly, and the results it produces for a Neodymium-Iron-Boron permanent magnet will be presented. © 2009 SBMO/SBMag.

The standard IEEE 802.15.4e shows several improvements which makes it outperforming the predecessor IEEE 802.15.4 standard. A remarkable improvement is the use of multiple channels and the capability to choose the most convenient depending on the network links state. Hence, different techniques can be provisioned to dynamically select the most appropriate channel for establishing the link through an adaptive mechanism. During the contention-free periods, the Time-Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) mode is based on channel hopping while the Deterministic and Synchronous Multi-channel Extension (DSME) mode uses either channel hopping or channel adaptation. In scenarios where channel diversity techniques are used for channel adaptation nodes links are established using the same channel as long as the channel quality (SNR) is high enough. In consequence to guarantee link best performance, its quality must be measured periodically to decide whether continue in the same channel of switch to a better performance one. Our investigation focuses on the analysis of the performance of three different approaches which pretend to take advantage of the multichannel capabilities of the new standard, based on the DSME protocol: CH-DSME which is based on a simple channel hopping mechanism, CA-DSME which employs channel adaptation, and a novel hybrid approach (H-DSME) which combines channel hopping and channel adaptation. This investigation shows that, in an industrial environment, the H-DSME outperforms both CH-DSME and CA-DSME approaches. In this work, the Castalia simulator was used to perform the simulations, using a reliable simulation model, which captures the characteristics of the wireless channel in industrial environments in long range basis. The analysis demonstrates that channel adaptation is better than channel hopping for unicast packets transmission, when links quality are continuously measured. Induction motors can be operated as induction generators when additional capacitors are added to the stator terminals. Capacitors connected to induction generators can generate voltage and can provide reactive power. The advantage of induction generators can be used in small-scale plants such as micro-hydro power plants. However, the weakness of induction generators are weak voltage regulation and dependence on capacitors to generate voltage. This study conducted a test to see how the effect of capacitor capacity on the voltage generated by a induction generator when serving multiple incandescent lamp loads. The capacitor used is connected with a wye connection because the Wye connection can generate a higher voltage than the Delta connection circuit. This research has been successfully carried out with variations in capacitor values, namely 45 F, 60 F, and 75 F and variations in lamp load values, namely 5W, 15W, 25W, 40W and 60W. Based on the results of the study, the induction generators uses a 45 F capacitor with a load of 5 W, the terminal voltage for line to line is 374 V. However, when using a 75 F capacitor with a 60W load, the terminal voltage for line to line is 239 V. The terminals voltage of the induction generators can also be kept at a constant 380 V by providing varying capacitor values even though it serves varying loads. © 2022 IEEE.
