Heatwaves are influenced significantly by El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), which alters temperature and precipitation patterns throughout the world. Since 2020, we have witnessed a "triple dip" La Niña conditions persisting for three consecutive years resulting in severe weather and climate driven events globally. In this study, we identified the dominant frequency of Niño 3.4 Sea Surface Temperature (SST) signals and correlated them with regions experiencing unprecedented heat waves in 2022, namely, the Indian Ocean, the North Atlantic around England and Spain, and the Mediterranean Sea. The signal's power spectrum and its three highest power components are determined based on the signal's Singular Spectrum Analysis (SSA) for each region. Furthermore, the power spectrum coherence (PSC) of Niño 3.4 and other study regions is obtained to determine whether ENSO and heatwaves are linked. We find that Niño 3.4 and the Indian Ocean have the same dominant frequency for the highest power received, indicating ENSO's influence on the Indian heat wave. Additionally, we discovered that in March 2022, the Jet stream is essential in bringing warm Arctic waves southward, passing through Niño 3.4 and India. Furthermore, we found that no other region shared the dominant frequency of the Niño 3.4 region.

Countering the effects of urban green gentrification through nature-based solutions: A scoping review

Statement of problem: Green gentrification is an emerging issue, where Urban green space (UGS) upgrades lead to higher living costs, displacing lower-income residents, raising concerns about accessibility, sustainability, and equity. This phenomena challenges the inclusive and equitable development of urban environments. Purpose: Through an integrative analysis of existing literature, this study aims to address a significant gap in current research by exploring how Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) can more effectively counteract the adverse effects of UGS gentrification. Method: Utilizing a scoping literature review, the research analyzes articles from 2015 to 2024 to synthesize insights for a more equitable urban development. Results: Findings reveal diverse lessons learned and strategies for countering green gentrification across different urban settings worldwide. However, a significant number of studies predominantly focus on the Global North, primarily in Europe and North America, which may lead to a regional bias. Practical implications: The results provide insights for policymakers, urban planners, and communities, guiding the creation of more inclusive and sustainable urban green spaces. Future directions: Further research should focus on developing quantitative metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of NbS in mitigating urban gentrification and expanding the geographic focus to include more underrepresented regions. © 2024 The Author(s)

The frequency of human-tapanuli orangutan (Pongo tapanuliensis) conflict has been increased with the widespread on degradation and fragmentation at Batangtoru Forest, South Tapanuli Regency. Orangutans often come on community lands to look for food, especially while the durian fruit season. This study aims to obtain information on socio-economic characteristics and public perception index to mitigate on human-tapanuli orangutan conflict around the Dolok Sipirok Nature Reserve, South Tapanuli Regency. Data was collected using a questionnaire distribution, interviews and descriptive observations, starting from October 2019 to January 2020. Respondents were selected by purposively sampling method, i.e. people had met and interacted with orangutans as many as 61 respondents from three villages. Data analyzed using frequency tables, likers scale and spearman rank correlation. The results showed that the community is Muslim majority, productive age, education below senior high school, farmers and income below IDR. 4,000,000. The public perception has declared orangutans as animals that consume community plants. They will drive away the orangutans found in processed land. The perception of conflict mitigation has strongly agreed with the program that must be done including providing compensation for losses, increasing patrol programs, developing local wisdom and building corridors in state forests. Due to extraordinary electronic and optoelectronic properties, large-scale single-crystal two-dimensional (2D) semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers have gained significant interest in the development of profit-making cutting-edge nano and atomic-scale devices. To explore the remarkable properties of single-crystal 2D monolayers, many strategies are proposed to achieve ultra-thin functional devices. Despite substantial attempts, the controllable growth of high-quality single-crystal 2D monolayer still needs to be improved. The quality of the 2D monolayer strongly depends on the underlying substrates primarily responsible for the formation of grain boundaries during the growth process. To restrain the grain boundaries, the epitaxial growth process plays a crucial role and becomes ideal if an appropriate single crystal substrate is selected. Therefore, this perspective focuses on the latest advances in the growth of large-scale single-crystal 2D TMD monolayers in the light of enhancing their industrial applicability. Studies on three-dimensional structured carbon templates have focused on how to guide homogeneous lithium metal nucleation and growth for lithium metal anodes(LMAs).However,there is still insufficient evidence for a key factor to achieve their high electrochemical ***,the effects of nanopores and sulfur doping on carbon-based nanoporous host(CNH)electrode materials for LMAs were investigated using natural polymer-derived *** pore-filling behaviors of lithium metal in the nanopores of the CNH electrode materials were first observed by ex situ scanning electron microscopy analysis,where the protective lithium metal nucleation and growth process led to significantly high Coulombic efficiency(CE)of~99.4%and stable 600 *** addition,a comparison study of CNH and sulfurdoped CNH(S-CNH)electrodes,which differ only in the presence or absence of sulfur,revealed that sulfur doping can cause lower electrochemical series resistance,higher CE value,and better cycling stability in a wide range of current densities and number of ***,S-CNH-based LMAs showed high electrochemical performance in full-cell Li-S battery tests using a sulfur copolymer cathode,where a high energy density of 1370Wh kgelectrode−1 and an excellent power density of 4120Wkgelectrode−1 were obtained.

Factor analysis is used to reduce data or summarize, from the old variable which is widely changed to a few new variables called factors, and still contains most of the information contained in the original variable. While regression analysis studies the relationship between one or more variables/independent variables (X) with one dependent variable (Y).The purpose of this paper is to describe how the factor analysis method can be used to provide solutions to operational problems such as problems with public transportation services with online applications, for this reason the research was conducted in identifying what factors influence the quality of online applications, and henceforth can be used in building mathematical models that can explain practical applications and predictions in the future. This research is explained in a quantitative descriptive form using exploratory factor analysis and regression analysis methods to process primary data and build models. The conclusion of this study is that there are 22 indicators and three factors that determine the quality of the application. The three factors produced are system and information factors, user impact factors, and promotion factors. These three factors can henceforth become a model in determining customer satisfaction as an end user of public transportation with an online application. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Pharmaceutical active compound (PhAC) residues are considered an emerging micropollutant that enters the aquatic environment and causes harmful ecotoxicity. The significant sources of PhACs in the environment include the pharmaceutical industry, hospital streams, and agricultural wastes (animal husbandry). Recent investigations demonstrated that wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are an important source of PhACs discharging ecosystems. Several commonly reported that PhACs are detected in a range level from ng L−1 to μg L−1 concentration in WWTP effluents. These compounds can have acute and chronic adverse impacts on natural wildlife, including flora and fauna. The approaches for PhAC removals in WWTPs include bioremediation, adsorption (e.g., biochar, chitosan, and graphene), and advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). Overall, adsorption and AOPs can effectively remove PhACs from wastewater aided by oxidizing radicals. Heterogeneous photocatalysis has also proved to be a sustainable solution. Bioremediation approaches such as membrane bioreactors (MBRs), constructed wetlands (CWs), and microalgal-based systems were applied to minimize pharmaceutical pollution. Noteworthy, applying MBRs has illustrated high removal efficiencies of up to 99%, promising prospective future. However, WWTPs should be combined with advanced solutions, e.g., AOPs/photodegradation, microalgae–bacteria consortia, etc., to treat and minimize their accumulation. More effective and novel technologies (e.g., new generation bioremediation) for PhAC degradation must be investigated and specially designed for a low-cost and full-scale. Investigating green and eco-friendly PhACs with advantages, e.g., low persistence, no bioaccumulation, less or non-toxicity, and environmentally friendly, is also necessary. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

The ability to manage knowledge is becoming increasingly important in today's knowledge economy, especially for companies. In order to obtain the effectiveness of the process of sharing knowledge within the company, it is necessary to evaluate the implementation of the knowledge management system that is currently running. The purpose of knowledge management is to change the paradigm of existing knowledge in employees into knowledge that can explicitly become corporate or organizational knowledge, so that the company can be used to improve employee performance because there are sufficiently managed references or knowledge or experience or expertise that has been collected and disseminated by previous *** data obtained were then analyzed using the factor analysis method, and the results that five factors can affect employee performance through knowledge management systems implementation, these are the factors: human resources ability, effective information, knowledge management systems, Quality for Users, accurate information transfer, and adequate IT Infrastructure. In Law Number 24 Year 2007 concerning Disaster Management, it is stated that the central government and regional governments are responsible for implementing disaster management, with an emphasis on preparedness and mitigation in dealing with natural disasters, as well as based on the provisions of article 1 of Presidential Regulation No. 46 of 2008 concerning the National Council on Climate Change that climate change is a change in average conditions of climate and / or climate diversity from one period of time to another as a result of human activity. However, the socialization of these two matters is not regulated in existing laws and regulations, so that the information dissemination plan and dissemination of the information must be carried out to the community itself. In line with developments in technology and information systems that have entered the era of media convergence, the acceleration of the process of spreading government programs can also be done by using this technology. The SECI method model (Socialization, Externalization, Combination, Internalization) was developed through implementation based on the 'Knowledge Management System Cycle' theory, so that a knowledge management system was formed. The results of research on community preparedness in the application of Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) for natural disaster preparedness and mitigation can be used to support the dissemination and dissemination of disaster management mitigation, global warming, and community-based climate change, including performance measurement of success. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
