This study aims to evaluate E-learning towards the achievement of students' character and determine strategies to build students' character through the use of e-learning. The subjects in this study were 132 students of grade X of the SragenVocational School. The data in this study are quantitative data and qualitative data. Quantitative data is obtained from the results of self-assessment questionnaires by students. Qualitative data were obtained based on the results of the interview by students as supporting self-assessment questionnaire result. The self-assessment questionnaire consisted of 6 aspects of character, namely 1) Friendly and Responsibility, 2) Religious and living in harmony, 3) Honesty, 4) Creative and Curiosity, 5) Tolerance, and 6) Discipline. The results showed that the percentages of achievement of the students' character are;friendly and responsibility (63.2%), religious and living in harmony (73.9%), honesty (64.4%), creative and curiosity (61.6%), tolerance (72.9%), and discipline (68.8%). The data shows that the percentage of student characters was still low. One strategy which can be used to build students' character is through the use of e-learning by applying blended learning models. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The presence of oil seepage to the surface indicates that at least an active petroleum system is present subsurface. Oil seepage that occurred in Plantungan, Kendal, Central Java, has been known since 1971 and still produces seepage until today. On the research area, three oil seepages point were found. Plantungan region is located in East Serayu Zone underlain by volcanic area, and based on the Geology Map, the research area is located in Banjarnegara-Pekalongan Sheet. To understand the geology condition of the research area, a subsurface mapping is needed, even though the mapping does not provide the depth of bedrock and reservoir, data recording using HVSR (Horizontal to Vertical Spectrum Ratio) method that has been done in 18 points is able to provide Vp and density profile to understand the distribution of oil seepage. The oil seepage is most prominent close to SB09 location, however the result from crossplot found that the value of highest Vp×density is on SB12A with 4,306,197 kg/m2s, and lowest Vp×density in on SB17A with 302,305.3 kg/m2s. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2019.

postpartum stress is very likely to take place as there are fluctuations in terms of feelings, pressure, anxiety, and guilt that may result in hypogalactia without proper treatment. Hypogalactia itself is an issue breastfeeding mothers face that may stall toddlers' growth, and hence, the future of a nation. This research aims to lower stress levels in hypogalactia cases. It employs nor pharmacological methods of electric and massage stimulation models to activate the biomechanical, psychological, and neurological systems within the body. The electric stimulation model was performed for 10 minutes in acupoints SI, ST, and SP at 0.5 watts frequency. Meanwhile, the massage stimulation was performed for 30 minutes in acupoints GB, BL, ST, CV, and ST. Saturated hydraulic conductivity (KSat) is a key soil attribute that influences hydrological processes at multiple scales. It is well known that KSat is difficult to measure in the field. Field KSat measurement requires time and expensive equipment, skilled labor, and due to the variability of KSat, many samples are required. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are powerful non-linear mathematical models that can estimate KSat from different soil and environmental input variables as well as using dimensionless variables generated using database resizing techniques via principal component analysis (PCA). Our main goal is to construct artificial neural network models for predicting KSat using soil and different land uses as input variables at a watershed scale. The study area is the Eller Creek watershed of about 0.7 km2 in southern Brazil, in which we established an experimental grid of 178 sampling points. Data of soil bulk density, total porosity, microporosity, macroporosity, soil organic carbon content, sand, silt and clay, and KSat were determined at each point in the 0-20 cm layer. A land-use map was derived from satellite images and used to identify the land use around each soil sampling point. PCA was applied to the original dataset and two selected PCs were included as input variables for ANN modeling. Our results suggest that PC inclusion as input parameters, collectively or individually, combined with the original data, increased the performance of the analyzed ANN models, when compared to similar models using only the original data and without PCs. The use of ANN models showed that the variation of KSat in the ECW watershed is not only associated with soil hydrological and environmental covariates, but also to PCs which are orthogonal linear recombinations that encapsulate the main sources of variation of the original datasets. © 2024, The Authors. Effect of oil palm fiber on physical and tribological behavior of unsaturated polyester-oil palm ash composite

Preliminary studies have successfully been conducted on the physical characterization and tribological behavior of oil palm fiber-reinforced composites based on unsaturated polyester and oil palm ash. In an effort to initiate segregation of composite particles, oil palm ash was used as a segregation agent to increase the surface roughness of the material. The composite preparation method was carried out using the hand lay-up technique for 1 hour at 100 °C. Methyl ethyl ketone peroxide was used as a hardening agent to increase the hardness of the composite. The composite that contained 10 wt.% oil palm fiber reinforced unsaturated polyester-oil palm ash showed the lowest porosity and highest density values compared to the other samples. The decrease in porosity and increase in density can be attributed to the incorporation of 10 wt.% oil palm fiber, which promotes increased segregation of the composite particles, leading to an overall volume increase. Furthermore, the increase in density results in a drastic decrease in the rate of water absorption. The sample with the optimal wear level also had the lowest value compared to the other samples, and this reduction in wear and tear is supported by the high coefficient of friction it exhibits.

Cancer is a group of diseases and the second leading cause of death according to World Health Organization. Mathematical and computational methods have been used to explore the cancer cells spread and the mechanism of their growth. We study a cancer model that exhibits both periodic and chaotic attractors. It describes the interactions among host, effector immune, and cancer cells. It is observed fluctuations in the population of cells. The fluctuation range can be associated with the appearance of tumour cells. In this work, we use machine learning algorithms for the prediction of fluctuations. We show that our machine learning classification is able to identify fluctuations that are associated with the growth rate of cancer cells. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Nature of Science Literacy Test (NOSLiT) is an instrument to measure students' understanding on scientific facts so they fulfilled the success of science literacy in high school students. The purpose of this research was to find out students' science literacy based on NOSLiT instruments. The method used for this research is descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative. This research samples were 29 students of 10st grade drawn from one public school in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The result showed that majority of the students have reached the science literacy while few of them have not fulfilled the requirements yet. Students have fulfilled frameworks such as science nomenclature, experimental ability and basic observation, scientific postulate, and rules of scientific evidence in such a large number. While frameworks such as scientific disposition and major misconception about science were still in small number. Science literacy values familiarity as well. Students taken as samples for this research were not really familiar with the type of questions asked during the science literacy test. Thus, their result was still below the average students in United States. The average of science literacy for student in X Science 4 with NOSLiT instrument is 57.14%. © 2018 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The number of journals, and consequently the number of papers, has grown significantly, which makes it necessary to use suitable tools in systematic literature reviews. Several methodologies have been proposed for this purpose, and one of these methods is the index calculation used to rank the papers in order of importance. This study proposes a new index called the Normalized Index for Ranking Papers to rank the papers in a systematic literature review, which is considered mainly indicators provided by the Centre for Science and Technology Studies journal indicators. For this index calculation, importance weights are assigned by the researchers, and the indicators used in the index are normalized. For ranking the final portfolio, the proposed method considers a weighted average of indicators (impact factors) in which the paper was published and a value that represents approximately the number of citations per year. The journal self-citation index benefits the journals with lower self-citation practices. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was carried out to analyze the final portfolio's results involving Multi-criteria Decision Analysis in airports. The indicators normalization enables the importance of each metric to be decided by the researcher according to the choice of the weights, not by the difference in the indicators’ magnitude. The importance of an article can be proved initially by the journal indicators in which the paper was published and by citations per year. © 2024 The Authors

The Role of Digital Modules on Cognitive Ability of High School Students in Newton's Law Material

Students perceive physics as a difficult subject to understand because the material contains a lot of formulas, mathematical calculations, and abstract concepts. One of the physics materials for high school students in Newton's law. Newton's law is one of the materials considered difficult to understand by students because the basic concepts in Newton's law material, namely the concept of force have not been fully mastered by students, resulting in students' cognitive physics abilities that are still low and have not reached the minimum completeness criteria (KKM). This study aims to examine the role of the digital module in improving students' cognitive abilities in Newton's Law material. The research subjects were 108 students of class X MIA in 3 high schools in the Surakarta residency. The study used a quantitative descriptive method with a test technique using 20 multiple choice questions about Newton's Law. Data were analyzed using N-gain. The results showed that the average scores before using the digital module at 3 SMA in Surakarta residency were 53, 58, and 60 respectively, while the average scores after using the digital module were 73, 74, and 75. Based on the N gain value, the increase in ability students' cognitive belonged to the medium category, namely > 0.3. The digital module has a significant effect on improving students' cognitive abilities in Newton's Law material.
