BackgroundItem 9 of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) queries about thoughts of death and self-harm, but not suicidality. Although it is sometimes used to assess suicide risk, most positive responses are not associated with suicidality. The PHQ-8, which omits Item 9, is thus increasingly used in research. We assessed equivalency of total score correlations and the diagnostic accuracy to detect major depression of the PHQ-8 and *** conducted an individual patient data meta-analysis. We fit bivariate random-effects models to assess diagnostic ***16 742 participants (2097 major depression cases) from 54 studies were included. The correlation between PHQ-8 and PHQ-9 scores was 0.996 (95% confidence interval 0.996 to 0.996). The standard cutoff score of 10 for the PHQ-9 maximized sensitivity + specificity for the PHQ-8 among studies that used a semi-structured diagnostic interview reference standard (N = 27). At cutoff 10, the PHQ-8 was less sensitive by 0.02 (−0.06 to 0.00) and more specific by 0.01 (0.00 to 0.01) among those studies (N = 27), with similar results for studies that used other types of interviews (N = 27). For all 54 primary studies combined, across all cutoffs, the PHQ-8 was less sensitive than the PHQ-9 by 0.00 to 0.05 (0.03 at cutoff 10), and specificity was within 0.01 for all cutoffs (0.00 to 0.01).ConclusionsPHQ-8 and PHQ-9 total scores were similar. Sensitivity may be minimally reduced with the PHQ-8, but specificity is similar.

One of the most important aspects to be considered by Distribution Centers (DCs) is the improvement of the process in relation to the attributes of the service that is provided. The purpose of this article is to analyze various alternatives for the definition of a DC with the use of a method of multi-criteria support in decision making, more specifically, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for the allocation and weighting of importance levels for structuring DCs. To further illustrate the process, a field study was conducted in a multinational company in the food sector. This enabled the identification of the best of three possible structures that were evaluated based on the criteria and sub-criteria targeted in the decision context. The results show that the cost and quality factors are primarily responsible for choosing the most appropriate alternative. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Based on high-order linear multistep methods (LMMs), we use the class of extended trapezoidal rules (ETRs) to solve boundary value problems of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), whose numerical solutions can be approximated by boundary value methods (BVMs). Then we combine this technique with fourth-order Padé compact approximation to discrete 2D Schrödinger equation. We propose a scheme with sixth-order accuracy in time and fourth-order accuracy in space. It is unconditionally stable due to the favourable property of BVMs and ETRs. Furthermore, with Richardson extrapolation, we can increase the scheme to order 6 accuracy both in time and space. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the accuracy of our scheme.

Background: High-resolution estimates of HIV burden across space and time provide an important tool for tracking and monitoring the progress of prevention and control efforts and assist with improving the precision and efficiency of targeting efforts. We aimed to assess HIV incidence and HIV mortality for all second-level administrative units across sub-Saharan Africa. Methods: In this modelling study, we developed a framework that used the geographically specific HIV prevalence data collected in seroprevalence surveys and antenatal care clinics to train a model that estimates HIV incidence and mortality among individuals aged 15–49 years. We used a model-based geostatistical framework to estimate HIV prevalence at the second administrative level in 44 countries in sub-Saharan Africa for 2000–18 and sought data on the number of individuals on antiretroviral therapy (ART) by second-level administrative unit. We then modified the Estimation and Projection Package (EPP) to use these HIV prevalence and treatment estimates to estimate HIV incidence and mortality by second-level administrative unit. Findings: The estimates suggest substantial variation in HIV incidence and mortality rates both between and within countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with 15 countries having a ten-times or greater difference in estimated HIV incidence between the second-level administrative units with the lowest and highest estimated incidence levels. Across all 44 countries in 2018, HIV incidence ranged from 2·8 (95% uncertainty interval 2·1–3·8) in Mauritania to 1585·9 (1369·4–1824·8) cases per 100 000 people in Lesotho and HIV mortality ranged from 0·8 (0·7–0·9) in Mauritania to 676·5 (513·6–888·0) deaths per 100 000 people in Lesotho. Variation in both incidence and mortality was substantially greater at the subnational level than at the national level and the highest estimated rates were accordingly higher. Most operating systems implement their own power management techniques, but it is hard to modify or hack their power policies without the source code. Many dynamic power management architectures have been proposed in the literature, but they are not integrated with the underlying OS power manager. In this work, we propose a software framework for user-level power management, with a flexible architecture to be adapted to different policies and integrated with OS power managers.

The purpose of this article is to introduce and test a model for green performance assessment in supply chains. The research method was the qualitative modeling. By literature review a model was proposed, consisting of three constructs described and appraised by categorical indicators: green strategy;green innovation;and green operations. The model originated a scale, with five degrees for the measurement of the indicators: very good=1;good=0.75;neutral=0.5;bad=0.25;very bad=0. An application was made in a supply chain of the footwear industry. Focal company managers were asked to distribute importance among the constructs and fulfill the scale. Outcomes obtained, with uniform distribution, and weighted by AHP methods, reached close to 40% of the maximum possible. The worst-performing construct and indicators were operations, reverse logistics and green distribution. Actions have been proposed to improve them.

This article presents a model for performance measurement in supply chains. The methodology had two-steps: a qualitative part to identify constructs and indicators and a quantitative one to measure them. The model has two dimensions: SCOR model process: source, make, deliver, and return;and priorities: cost, quality, delivery, flexibility. A 4 x 4 matrix resulted, weighted by AHP. In the cells, indicators, with ranges and five categories [very good, good, neutral, bad, very bad] were allocated to appraise the priority in the process. The ranges were set in the planning process of SCOR. An application was done in the hard core of a supply chain of the footwear industry, including 72 indicators in four suppliers;the focal company;three distribution channels;and a return channel. The SC overall performance reached near 80% of the maximum possible value. Worst performance was flexibility in deliver and delivery in make.

The program Support Plan Restructuring and Expansion of Brazilian Federal Universities (REUNI) allowed the expansion of course offerings and the number of university students in Brazil. In this sense, the participation of the Federal University of Santa Catarina allowed the creation and installation of new campuses Araranguá, Curitibanos and Joinville in 2009. The engineering Center for Mobility (CEM), installed on campus in the city of Joinville, had based their design limitations related to infrastructure in Brazil. Mobility engineering is a field of knowledge that deals with the development of technical systems and vehicular transportation infrastructure whose function is to transport people, products and information. This is a qualitative study, with analysis of documents and searches the sites, papers. In Political Pedagogical Project are offered three cycles of knowledge, the first two years of basic training and disciplines of engineering, the second course of a year, with disciplines that enable specific skills, and the third two-year cycle and how engineers in seven specialties (Naval and Oceanic engineering, Aeronautics and Space, Automotive, Railway, Mechatronics;Traffic and logistics, and transportation infrastructure). The objective of this paper is to analyze the innovative aspects of the political pedagogical project of CEM/UFSC, one of the organization in cycles with the training of engineers at the end of the fifth year of study, and also allows an exit for intermediate students who do not most want to complete engineering, at the end of the second cycle. In this case they can apply for graduation Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Mobility emphasis on training: vehicular or transport. Thus formed technicians and engineers, these professionals in underserved areas and with strong impact on the country's development.
