A self-adaptive system can dynamically monitor and adapt its behavior to preserve or enhance its quality attributes under uncertain operating conditions. This article identifies key challenges for the development of microservice applications as self-adaptive systems, using a cloud-based intelligent video surveillance application as a motivating example. It also suggests potential new directions for addressing most of the identified challenges by leveraging existing microservice practices and technologies. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. Topological insulating phases are usually found in periodic lattices stemming from collective resonant effects, and it may thus be expected that similar features may be prohibited in thermal diffusion, given its purely dissipative and largely incoherent nature. We report the diffusion-based topological states supported by spatiotemporally-modulated advections stacked over a fluidic surface, thereby imitating a periodic propagating potential in effective thermal lattices. We observe edge and bulk states within purely nontrivial and trivial lattices, respectively. At interfaces between these two types of lattices, the diffusive system exhibits interface states, manifesting inhomogeneous thermal properties on the fluidic surface. Our findings establish a framework for topological diffusion and thermal edge/bulk states, and it may empower a distinct mechanism for flexible manipulation of robust heat and mass transfer. © 2021, CC BY.

Currently, the discussion about smart city becomes a trend topic in which the development of the Internet of Thing (IoT) is used in various sectors including in the manufacturing sector where the Indonesian government is intensively increasing the capacity and production quality. The use of IoT in both smart manufacture and smart city become an interesting thing topic for research and the combination of the new technology Blockchain, may proof the reliability of data. Trust, transparent, secure, real time online process as a new phenomenon to merge IoT with Blockchain technology into smart manufacturing technology. However, for maintaining quality and sustainability, required technology governance so the achievement of implementation can be done well. This research uses the method called Systematic Literature Review (SLR) find the Blockchain adoption factors for Smart Manufacturing Technology Governance and the research conducted on several reputable publications. The result found, there are 35 adoption success factors found from the adoption of blockchain technology into smart manufacture industry. The influence of the technology governance process in smart manufacture industry increase sustainability, realtime and accurate decision making for the industry. © 2018 IEEE.

Over the past decade, online crowdsourcing has established itself as an emerging paradigm that industry and government have been using to harness the cognitive abilities of a multitude of users distributed around the world. In this context, microtask crowdsourcing has become the method of choice for addressing a wide range of diverse problems. Microtasks typically require a minimum of time and cognitive effort, but combined individual efforts have made it possible to accomplish great achievements. The goal of this paper is to contribute to the ongoing effort of understanding whether the same success that microtask crowdsourcing has achieved in other domains can be obtained in the field of social news curation. In particular, we ask whether it is possible to turn online news curation, typically a social and collaborative activity on the Web, into a model in which curatorial activities are mapped into microtasks to be performed by a crowd of online users.

Dynamically encircling exceptional points (EPs) can lead to chiral mode switching as the system parameters are varied along a path that encircles EP. However, conventional encircling protocols result in low transmittance due to path-dependent losses. Here, we present a paradigm to encircle EPs that includes fast Hamiltonian variations on the parameter boundaries, termed Hamiltonian hopping, enabling ultrahigh-efficiency chiral mode switching. This protocol avoids path-dependent loss and allows us to experimentally demonstrate nearly 90% efficiency at 1550 nm in the clockwise direction, overcoming a long-standing challenge of non-Hermitian optical systems and powering up new opportunities for EP physics.

Background: Despite major advances in artificial intelligence (AI) research for healthcare, the deployment and adoption of AI technologies remain limited in clinical practice. In recent years, concerns have been raised about the clinical, technical, ethical and legal risks associated with healthcare AI. To increase adoption in the real world, it is essential that AI technologies are trusted and accepted by patients, clinicians, health organisations and authorities. This paper describes the FUTURE-AI framework as the first international consensus guideline for trustworthy AI in healthcare. Methods: The FUTURE-AI consortium was founded in 2021 and now comprises 117 interdisciplinary experts from 50 countries representing all continents, including AI scientists, clinical researchers, biomedical ethicists, and social scientists. Over a two-year period, the consortium established guiding principles and best practices for trustworthy and deployable AI through an iterative process comprising an in-depth literature review, a modified Delphi survey, and online consensus meetings. Findings: The FUTURE-AI framework was established based on six guiding principles for trustworthy AI in healthcare, i.e. Fairness, Universality, Traceability, Usability, Robustness and Explainability. Through consensus, a set of 30 best practices were defined, addressing technical, clinical, socio-ethical and legal dimensions of trustworthy AI. The recommendations cover the entire lifecycle of healthcare AI, from design, development and validation to regulation, deployment, and monitoring. Interpretation: FUTURE-AI is a structured, risk-informed framework which provides guidance for constructing healthcare AI tools that will be trusted, deployed and adopted in real-world clinical practice. Researchers are encouraged to take the recommendations into account in proof-of-concept stages to facilitate future translation towards clinical practice of healthcare AI. Plagiarism in the education sector is as serious issues. In 2015 Indonesia ministry of research, technology and higher education stated to eradicate the plagiarism, and after 2 years the similar statement by Indonesia ministry of research, technology, and higher education. The plagiarism becomes the serious program by the ministry. The plagiarism in higher education happened, the faculty member or even a professor found did the plagiarism. Therefore, this paper research conducted using descriptive analysis methodology to elaborate on deep the correlation plagiarism variables. Hence, warding off the plagiarism might possible to perform using the applications. The aim of this research to find the correlation variables that might use to ward off the plagiarism in the future. The very interesting result from 15 questioners and the report shows there are several significant correlation variables of the plagiarism. © 2018 IEEE.

The purpose of this study is to find the influence factors of blockchain technology adoption of payments system in Indonesia banking industry. Moreover, the researchers proposed new model of payment system by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. All this time, the researchers of blockchain in payment systems were done in major countries such as UK, USA, Australia, Scotland, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, and China. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) used as a method in this study and there were five databases that taken as references, such as IEEE, science direct, AIS electronic, ACM and Google Scholar. The researchers were found 26 references Studies Included in Quantitative Synthesis and 9 variables (Easy to use, Usefulness, Transaction fees, Risk perception, Behaviour intention of use, Attitude toward, Cognitive style, Subjective Norm, Effectiveness). Based on the result of data analysis and discussion, there were two conclusions in this study, the first, the researchers found nine factors that expected tobe used as a reference if Indonesia banking industry wants to adopt blockchain technology for payment system;and second, the researchers had to propose payment system model by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. © 2018 IEEE.

Polaritons enable subwavelength confinement and highly anisotropic flows of light over a wide spectral range, holding the promise for applications in modern nanophotonic and optoelectronic devices. However, to fully realize their practical application potential, facile methods enabling nanoscale active control of polaritons are needed. Here, we introduce a hybrid polaritonic-oxide heterostructure platform consisting of van der Waals crystals, such as hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) or alpha-phase molybdenum trioxide (α-MoO3), transferred on nanoscale oxygen vacancy patterns on the surface of prototypical correlated perovskite oxide SmNiO3 (SNO). Using a combination of scanning probe microscopy and infrared nanoimaging techniques, we demonstrate nanoscale real-time reconfigurability of complex hyperbolic phonon polaritons patterned at the nanoscale with unmatched resolution. Hydrogenation and temperature modulation allow spatially localized conductivity modulation of SNO nanoscale patterns, enabling robust real-time modulation and nanoscale reconfiguration of hyperbolic polaritons. Our work paves the way towards nanoscale programmable metasurface engineering as a new paradigm for reconfigurable nanophotonic applications facilitated by a hybrid material platform exploiting extreme light-matter interactions in polaritonic systems. © 2021, CC BY.
