Linking agro-industrial engineering body of knowledge with industry 4.0: A case study of agro-industrial engineering study program at IPB University

The emergence of Industry 4.0 paradigms has been forcing and changing the landscape aspect of engineering education, as seen in agro-industrial engineering body of knowledge (AIEBoK). These paradigms push to adapt and to prepare a new approach for curriculum content and delivery. It is urgent to re-think and redefine how to prepare a newer perspective into the three combined disciplines that form AIE-BoK, namely Industrial and system engineering, process/bioprocess engineering, and industrial environmental engineering. They should clearly intertwine their relevance in parallel with pillars of the industry 4.0. These stakeholder's requirements are the main motivation of this work. Within Industry 4.0 vision, AIE-BoK is investigated on how disruptive technologies play a role in changes. Some issues related to how to utilize common connectivity in technology advancement and to push a relevant curriculum both content and structure are discussed. In order to construct a new map and landscape of curriculum relevancy, it continues with the discussion of how and where agro-industrial engineering education attempts to interpret new roles in industrial revolution 4.0. Along with the consideration of how this interpretation potentially changes agro-industrial products, services, and manufacturing. In closing, a discussion of how agro-industrial engineering curriculum should respond is briefly discussed.

In the present paper, the influence of the contact boundary condition and specimen geometry on the concrete compressive strength is numerically investigated by using a version of the Lattice Discrete Element Method (LDEM), implemented on Abaqus/Explicit. More precisely, two types of contact boundary conditions are considered and, for each of them, three different slenderness levels (height/width ratio - h/b) are analyzed (that is, h/b = 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0) by considering a square cross-section. Moreover, for h/b = 2.0, a circular cross-section is also examined. Two models are developed: one by using the LDEM and the other by using a hybrid model, combining Finite Elements and LDEs. The results show that both the boundary conditions and the sample geometry influence the axial compressive strength.

Flood susceptibility mapping become crucial for describing flood risk zones and development mitigation actions. By means of a multi-criteria decision analysis-Analytical Hierarchy Process (MCDA-AHP), this study examined flood-inundation of Keureuto watershed in North Aceh. The study employed a mixture of AHP and GIS (Geographic Information System) on a fuzzy environment, and tested with the field observation by mean of AUC-ROC method to see its accuracy. Eleven key criteria that can trigger floods were chosen: rainfall, flow accumulation, river density, distance to the river, elevation, slope, TWI, LULC, soil type, NDVI, and curvature. The significance of all of criteria was arranged based on the weights which is determined using Fuzzy-AHP (FAHP) pairwise comparison matrix (PCM). The highest flood-triggering criteria were rainfall (0.199), TWI (0.159), flow accumulation (0.143), distance to rivers (0.094), and slope (0.091). Based on fuzzy overlay, the area of $323.747 \mathrm{~km}^{2}\left(34.635 \%\right.$ of $934.745 \mathbf{k m}^{2}$ of total area) was high to very high flood susceptibility which is mostly concentrated in downstream of river basin, while the area of $610.998 \mathrm{~km}^{2}(65.365 \%$ of the total area) has moderate to very low flood susceptibility. where the model achieved a higher AUC value of $\mathbf{7 7. 8 9 \%}$, indicating better performance. It is proved that the FAHP model is very good for forecasting flood-inundation areas in the Keureuto River basin.

At the Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe determining accident-prone areas on roads in Lhokseumawe still using manual systems. Determination of accident-prone areas are less effective because the police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe just using the data of the last year and had to repeatedly calculate manually accident-prone areas based on the number of human casualties. In this study the system implementation CUSUM method (Cummulative Summary) to determine the accident-prone areas designed using the web-based programming language PHP. In this system there are three processes to determine areas prone to accidents, the accident rate calculations based on the weighted severity, blacksite calculations using the Z-Score method for determining areas prone to accident blackspots and calculations using the CUSUM method to determine the critical points of an accident. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Police Unit Laka Lantas Polres Lhokseumawe years 2009-2013. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The focus of this study is to identify and describe of a seawater intrusion in confined aquifer modelling in Semarang with a descriptive quantitative analytical method. The results showed potentially experiencing seawater intrusion which increased of 0.575 km2/years. Seawater intrusion models divide to 3 models are the western route have a maximum error is 27.9%, then the middle route have the maximum error is 41.1% and the eastern route have the maximum error is 40%. In 2035, the seawater intrusion on western route is predicted about 3.0 km from the coastline, 4 km for middle route, and about 3.25 km for eastern route. This is one of the information that from right now, the management of a groundwater in the confined aquifer in Semarang is necessary to supervise and better and more optimal controlling

The effect of using crumb rubber on fatigue and rutting lives in flexible pavement

This research is performed to analyze effect of using crumb rubber (CR) on the overlay design of Palembang City – Betung roads. Analysis of existing road conditions using the AASHTO 1993. This analysis based on deflection data using the Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD). While, the overlay design analysis using CIRCLY 7.0 software to determine horizontal tensile strain (εh) for fatigue live and vertical compressive strain (εv) for rutting live parameters. The result showed that using CR can increase fatigue live into 66 % and rutting lives into 22 % for contribute pavement performance. To ensure the effect of CR in pavement's performance, further research must be taken to find out if there are other effects that support.

Comparative study of asphalt concrete characteristic between ideal gradation and laboratory tested gradation with crumb rubber

Modifying asphalt concrete with using Crumb Rubber (CR) can provide environmental benefits. The method used in this study is an experimental laboratory with Mashall machine. The tests used two types of gradation, namely the gradations of Ideal and Laboratory Test. CR used in a mixture with a dry process method to replacement 0%, 5%, 15% and 20% of the weight aggregate at fraction No. 30 (0.6 mm). The results showed that the Ideal gradation mixture has a better characteristic than the mixture of laboratory tested gradations. Ideal gradations can increased stability into 10% from Laboratory Test gradations for mixture without CR. Addition of CR contect in AC mixture did not significantly effect for the characteristics. To ensure the effect of CR in mixture, further test must be taken.

The Effect of EPS Addition to Soil Stabilized with Fly Ash as Lightweight Fill Materials for Embankment Construction

Design and construction of road embankment presents several challenges, including the possibility of bearing capacity failure, large total settlement, differential settlement, and slope instability, which may result from the weight of the embankment construction itself, and/or weak foundation. A number of techniques have been developed and can be used to overcome these problems, one of them is by modifying the weight of the embankment itself with the use of lightweight materials, such as soil-EPS mixture. The use of soil-EPS mixture as lightweight material provides several advantages, among which can achieve the same volume or elevation requirement with a significantly lighter weight compared to ordinary materials, improving slope stability, embankment over high compressibility soil, and to reduce soil pressure to soil retaining structures, abutment or bridge pillar. Fly ash also added to act as binder to increase shear strength of mixture. The result of the compaction test shows that the addition of a small amount of EPS to the mixture can significantly reduce the maximum dry density of the mixture. Triaxial UU and UCS test results show a reduction in mixture strength as EPS contents increase, but due to the presence of fly ash increases the strength of mixture as the number of day increases, so that the use of lightweight materials has the potential to be one of soil improvement solutions.

Introduction: Despite its contribution to urban development, high rise residential projects also cause adverse impact on the living environment. To address the problem, a sustainable construction as a new paradigm has been introduced. Various papers have examined the importance of sustainable construction. However, most studies focused on social and environmental aspects and with few consideration on the economic objective of the business. This study aimed to fill the research gap by presenting a dynamic model to improve social, environmental and economic performance of sustainable construction for high rise residential projects in developing countries. Methods: This study started with a literature review as a basis for a qualitative survey conducted in thirty high rise residential projects in Indonesia, to identify the influencing factors and the interrelationships. To analysis the data, a system dynamics approach was utilized. Results: The simulations reveal that the current regulation and construction practices are insufficient to reduce environmental negative impacts. In order to formulate better policies, three scenarios comprised the implementation of building energy regulation, tax incentives policy, and a policy mix were employed. The results show that the scenarios could improve construction sustainability performance in some extends. Conclusion: The combination of building regulation and tax incentives policy is effective to achieve environmental and social as well as economic aspects of sustainable construction which is suitable for investors. Based on the results, it is concluded that the model can be used to formulate various policies in the future to enhance sustainable construction of high rise residential projects in developing countries. © 2022 Sutantio et al.

Effect of Ozonation and Biotreatment on Molecular Size and Hydrophilic Fractions of Natural Organic Matter

The impact of ozonation and ozonation combined with biotreatment on the molecular size (MS) distribution, hydrophilicity, chlorine reactivity and chemical composition of a groundwater natural organic matter was investigated. Chlorination of isolated fractions was conducted under constant precursor concentrations and chlorination conditions. In the untreated solution, the <1K MS fraction was the most reactive to chlorination, and the nonhumic fraction showed the highest bromine incorporation. Ozonation caused a shift to smaller MS and hydrophilic fractions, and from a polyaromatic nature to a polysaccharidal and proteinaecous nature, as measured by pyrolysis-GC/MS analyses, but did not affect the disinfection by-product (DBP) specific yield in the larger MS fractions. It did cause a shift towards more bromosubstituted DBFs. Subsequent biotreatment was most effective in dissolved organic carbon removal for the <1K MS fraction, but did not exhibit selective DBF precursor removal in any fraction.
