Nano-ceramic particles can serve as reinforcing agents for metallic materials to improve their mechanical ***,it is important to ensure chemical compatibility between the matrix and *** the present study,magnesium composites with and without nano-hydroxyapatite(nHA)particles were fabricated for bone reconstruction *** different techniques were used,Conventional Sintering(CS)of powder compacts and Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS)of pre-compacted *** showed that a 10 wt%addition of nHA particles to magnesium,followed by SPS improved the compression strength by 27%.CS did not lead to any significant improvement compared to SPS processing.X-ray diffraction data after CS revealed the formation of unfavorable phases due to chemical reactions between nHA particles and the magnesium matrix,while these phases were absent after SPS *** mechanical properties of the specimens fabricated by CS were much inferior to those processed using *** shorter processing time associated with SPS leaded to reduced interaction between nHA particles and the Mg-matrix,compared to CS.

The aim of the present study was to perform a detailed morphological analysis of an injectable platelet rich fibrin after combination with two different particulate hydroxyapatite-based granules, a porous zirconia block, and laser-textured zirconia or titanium surfaces. Blood samples were harvested from three participants to prepare the flowable injectable PRF in contact or not with particulate hydroxyapatite (Hap), bone mineral granules (DBBM), porous zirconia blocks, laser-textured titanium or zirconia surfaces. Optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to evaluate the fibrin network density, fibrin fibers’ diameter, blood cells, and the interaction of PRF with the biomaterials. Histomorphometry of the flowable PRF was also performed using the hematoxylin–eosin staining protocol. Specimens were independently evaluated by two blinded and well-trained researchers in histomorphometry and microscopy. Particulate Hap and DBBM shown different morphological aspects by SEM analyses since DBBM revealed macro- and micro-scale pores while Hap revealed a dense structure. Hydroxyapatite and DBBM granules were entirely embedded by the fibrin-network in the presence of leukocytes and blood platelets. The zirconia porous structured was filled with PRF and its components. Also, the laser-structured zirconia or implant surfaces were entirely coated with the PRF fibrin network embedding leukocytes and blood platelets. Laser-textured titanium surfaces revealed macro- and micro-scale irregularities that increase the surface area and retention of the injectable PRF. Histomorphometric analyses revealed complementary details on the distribution of lymphocytes, red blood cells, and fibrin associated with platelet aggregation. Gold colloid possessing both lipase and PEG tethered chains on the surface was prepared by the adsorption of lipase, followed by the immobilization of the PEG/polycation block copolymer on the colloid surface. The obtained colloid showed a high dispersion stability at a high salt concentration. The enzymatic activity of the lipase on the colloid complex retained intact. Surprisingly, more than 95% of the initial enzymatic activity was retained after repeated thermal treatments (5 times) at 58°C for 10 min. The PEG condensed layer between the immobilized enzyme on the gold colloid may prevent the denaturation of the enzyme at high temperature.

In this study,the relationship between spinodal decomposition and the formation of Ni-rich clusters and G-phase in the ferrite on hardening and pitting corrosion of two thermally aged duplex stainless steels(DSSs)at 475℃was *** indicate that,for 2205 DSS,pitting corrosion behavior is influenced by the presence and size of G-phase precipitates for longer aging times,but this contribution is masked by the advanced stage of spinodal decomposition in the ferritic *** the other hand,for 2101 DSS,the formation of Cr-richer nitrides impairs pitting corrosion resistance more than spinodal decomposition.
