Artificial intelligence in higher education with bibliometric and content analysis for future research agenda

This study investigates the integration of artificial intelligence in higher education, aiming to identify trends, key contributors, highly cited papers, collaboration, and thematic areas in research published between (2016–2025) for future research direction. A bibliometric and content analysis was employed, combining quantitative descriptive methods and network analysis with qualitative content analysis of the most-cited articles. Data was extracted from Scopus, yielding 276 refined documents after excluding duplicates, editorials, and notes. Analytical techniques included co-word analysis, citation analysis, co-authorship analysis, and bibliographic coupling, supported by VOSviewer for visualization. Key findings include Symbiosis International Deemed University and Bucharest University of Economic Studies as leading affiliations, with China, India, and the UK as top contributing countries. The most significant journals are Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems and Education and Information Technologies, while authors like Crawford and Păun contribute. Co-authorship analysis highlights strong collaboration among developed countries, while co-word analysis reveals themes like adaptive learning, predictive analytics, and ChatGPT. Bibliometric coupling identifies influential works, including studies by Chatterjee and Bhattacharjee, emphasizing AI adoption. Content analysis underscores the transformative potential of AI in enhancing learning, administrative efficiency, and Innovation. This study provides managerial and practical recommendations for students, universities, and policymakers. This study has several limitations that future studies will consider. © The Author(s) 2025.

Application of a Multicriteria Decision Model for the Selection of Conversion Pathways for Biofuel Production and Management in a Medium-Sized Municipality in the State of Paraná

Biogas and biofuels have emerged as viable alternatives to meet the targets established by the Paris Agreement. Considering the numerous variables involved in biogas production and the need to understand growth opportunities, technological improvements, and policies aimed at stabilizing the sector, a bibliographic review was conducted, analyzing 145 scientific articles. This analysis revealed a research gap related to biogas, energy generation, and the application of multicriteria decision-making methods. This study aims to contribute to filling this gap through the application of a multicriteria model designed to assist public decision-makers in selecting among three conversion pathways for biogas and biofuel production: pyrolysis, covered lagoon biodigester, and continuous stirred-tank reactor (CSTR) biodigester. These alternatives were evaluated based on environmental, social, economic, and technical criteria, applying the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) methods. The AHP method was used to rank the criteria and their respective sub-criteria, while the TOPSIS method helped select the alternative closest to the "ideal positive solution" among the conversion routes analyzed. The ranking results showed that environmental and social criteria received the highest scores compared to technical and economic criteria. © 2025 by the authors.

Youth Financial Literacy Short Scale: Proposition and validation of a measure

We propose a short instrument for measuring financial literacy among young adults: Youth Financial Literacy Short Scale (YFLSS). An instrument with questions on financial knowledge, financial attitude, and financial behavior was applied with 1126 young Brazilians, whose dimensions and items were analyzed using exploratory factor analysis, structural equation modeling and hierarchical cluster analysis. The scale proposed allows for developing an indicator that defines whether an individual has a high or low level of financial literacy. Financial behavior is what most impacts young people, representing 53.6% of financial literacy, followed by financial attitude. Financial knowledge represents only 11.1%. These results show what will make a difference in order to have a financially literate society is the effort to put these lessons into practice and change the behavior of young people. Regarding the limitations, the scale was developed in the context of application on paper and self-administered, changes in these parameters may require adaptations of language and format. Despite construction efforts, the Youth Financial Literacy Short Scale still needs cross-cultural validation. Finally, the YFLSS is a breakthrough in literature because it was built specifically for young audiences and it is a short instrument with only 12 questions to measure the three dimensions of financial literacy: financial knowledge, attitude, and behavior. © 2024

A framework for sustainable supply chain in emerging economies

Sustainable supply chains (SSC) are an essential topic in emerging economies for achieving sustainable development. Because of their rapid economic growth, emerging economies are experiencing both sides of this development: the well-being enhancement and the environmental impact. However, decision makers and practitioners do not have robust models for managing supply networks that consider the sustainability complexities. This study aims to provide a better understanding of SSC in emerging economies and proposes a generic framework to improve the decision-making process. Based on a review of the literature, a decision framework for sustainability is proposed. A green sustainable decision concept is also discussed in the SSC literature. This study has implications for scholars, decision makers, and practitioners interested in advancing the SSC field based on an extension of the framework. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.

This research is conducted by thorough observation and anecdotal notes taken during the field research. The data was analysed with SWOT, resulting these points: teachers' educational background is S1/D4;the teachers are discipline;the schools are provided with sufficient facilitations and are free tuition. The identified barriers are no sufficient trainings for the teachers;the places (schools) are isolated;and lack of local government's attention. The schools have the opportunities to receive school operation fund from central government, called BOS (Bantuan Operasional Sekolah) and have internet connection provided by the company. On the other hands, there are many issues which need to be solved: teachers are lack of trainings;there's a possibility that. The school operation fund is stopped by government;some company policies which may not support school programs;and disorganized school management because students can leave before the school year ends. There are some underpin points to be done to increase the quality of teaching-learning process and school management, they are to give the teachers opportunities have external and internal trainings, and to provide facilities needed step by step. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

SUPERVISION OF TRAINEES - TENDING THE PROFESSIONAL SELF

This article seeks to demonstrate how self psychological concepts can be applied to the process of training psychotherapists in a variety of clinical and community settings. The author examines the role of clinical supervision in the development, consolidation, and maintenance of a cohesive professional self. The role of selfobject experience, needs, transference, and countertransference as manifested in the supervisory relationship is elaborated. Supervisor and supervisee form a self-selfobject unit, through which the trainee's anxieties and vulnerabilities can be managed. This selfobject matrix enables maintenance of self-esteem, expansion of cognitive understanding, and structure building in the arena of the professional self. To achieve these ends, the supervisor forms an empathic alliance with the internal, subjective experience of the therapist. The importance of focusing on the self experience and selfobject needs of the therapist in training via an empathic mode of observation is illustrated by several examples and vignettes. The application of theory to practice is emphasized, with examples chosen from a variety of clinical settings and modalities.

The Karimunjawa National Park as the only one marine protected area in Central Java, managed by zonation system has decreased natural resources in the form of decreasing mangrove forest area, coral cover, sea biota population such as clams and sea cucumbers. Conservation has been done by Karimunjawa National Park Authority through protection of life support system activities in order to protect the area from degradation. The objective of the research is to know the implementation of protection and security activities of Karimunjawa National Park Authority for the period of 2012-2016. The research was conducted by qualitative method, processing secondary data from Karimunjawa National Park Authority and interview with key informants. The results showed that protection and security activities in The Karimunjawa National Park were held with three activities: Pre-emptive activities, preventive activities and repressive activities. Implementation of conservation policy through protection of life support system is influenced by factors of policy characteristic, resource factor and environmental policy factor. Implementation of conservation policy need support from various parties, not only Karimunjawa National Park Authority as the manager of the area, but also need participation of Jepara Regency, Central Java Provinces, communities, NGOs, researchers, developers and tourism actors to maintain and preserve existing biodiversity. Improving the quality of implementors through education and training activities, the availability of the state budget annually and the support of stakeholders is essential for conservation. © 2018 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

Today’s economy is characterized by rapid change. However, since many strategic ideas originated under more stable conditions, thinking has remained rooted in a more stable time. In this respect, a new perspective emerged based on transient competitive advantage, that is, practices that adapt to environments where advantages come and go. Given that there are no practical ways to analyze these ideas, enabling them to effectively contribute to organizations, the present study aims to propose a model to analyze companies from the standpoint of transient competitive advantages. To that end, the Transient Competitive Advantage Model was created and applied in a multiple case study carried out in Information Technology (IT) startups in order to show its operability. Results revealed that the model was able to consolidate essential elements in practical and easy-to-understand issues. In short, the model implements the idea of transience, opposes a strong paradigm of traditional strategies: the notion of sustainable competitive advantage. Thus, a new reference for strategies was presented, based on the premise that the way of doing things in uncertain environments must be changed. © 2022, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management.

The objective of this research is to provide a framework to guide manufacturers that compete in environmental sustainability, as well as their supply chains, to formulate a business strategy to improve competitive advantage. It is a theoretical study based on literature review and in the model of Campos e Armas da Competicao - CAC, in Portuguese (Fields and Weapons of the Competition). The contribution of this research is to present a study of the many factors that can influence the formulation of a business strategy, helping the responsible for such formulation to reach competitive advantage in sustainable basis, mainly in a world where what is at stake is not only the success of the companies, but the future of our planet, of our own humanity.

This study aims to identify the types of analogy approaches required in learning physics and analyze physics scores of students based on gender and parent's occupation. This research uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. Quantitative data is in the form of primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected using a questionnaire, while secondary data were from a teacher. Meanwhile, the qualitative data were collected using an open questionnaire. Quantitative analysis use using non-parametric statistics (Mann-Whitney) with the help of IBM SPSS version 24, while qualitative analysis is descriptive. The results of the study (with a significance of 0.05) showed that gender (sig.-value = 0.584 for PA and 0.874 for physical grades, greater than 0.05) and the type of work of parents (sig.-value = 0.303 for PA and 0.528 for physics scores, greater than 0.05) did not affect student responses about the analogy approach and to the students' physics scores. Meanwhile, the the open questionnaire results generally stated that the students were happy, interesting, motivated, easier, clearer, more meaningful, more understanding of concepts, effective, and efficient in learning physics. The recommendation is that this analogy approach needs to be developed on other physics concepts and implemented in physics learning. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
