The present work aims to demonstrate that the use of computational intelligence in judicial provision can bring speed and legal certainty to judicial decisions. The possibility of using a technological tool based on processing in natural language and textual classification will be created and then evaluated for the simultaneous application of judicial precedents. With this, it will be sought to prove that the judicial decision can be rendered more quickly. Through the use of computational intelligence, we carried out the reading of the initial petition of processes distributed with the Special Courts of the District of Palmas-Toin Brazil in the years 2019 to 2022, focusing in the binding precedents edited by the STF and ST J. We seek the possible incidence and application of the binding precedent in the specific case and thus demonstrate that the judge could know, right after the filing of the action, that the object of the inaugural claim already had a manifestation of the STF or STJ and therefore it would be up to the judgment of injunction, and thus prove the possibility of obtaining speed and legal certainty in the jurisdictional provision with the combined use of technology with binding precedents. © 2023 IEEE.

Indonesia is the second largest contributor of plastic waste in the ocean. The initiative of the central government through KLHK in reducing the generation of plastic waste is to launch a paid plastic bag policy. This policy is regulated by a circular issued by KLHK to local governments and business actors. The purpose of this study is to analyse the implementation of policies, analyse consumer behaviour and analyse the supporting and inhibiting factors in the paid plastic bag policy which is applied in the city of Semarang. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. Data collection uses primary and secondary data. The results showed that the paid plastic bag policy had the support of the local government, businesses and consumers. Various efforts have been made as a form of support to reduce waste generation in accordance with the objectives of this policy. Although consumers know and support this policy, it does not change consumer behaviour much. They still use plastic bags from retail when they finish shopping. Consumers have no objections to paying IDR 200. This policy does not bring many significant changes in consumer behaviour in using new plastic bags, despite the tendency of consumers to know the impact of plastic bag waste if it is not managed properly. Consumers still seem indifferent in considering plastic bag waste as an urgent waste priority. So that this policy is still less effective in changing consumer behaviour. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2020.

Pandemic covid-19 does not only threat lives and health of people but also hit economic, social, and well-being. Large scale social restriction (PSBB) paralyze all economic activities, in turn, causing unemployment and escalating the number of poor people. Indonesian government provide direct social assistance and other measures to ease the burden of impacted people. Pandemic covid-19 also threats the target of achieving SDGs specifically dealing with pillar 1 (no poverty) and pillar 2 (zero hunger). Through CSR, corporates have important role in dealing with pandemic covid-19 at the stage of emergency and rehabilitation. This paper observed two corporates, holder of Gold Proper ranking, in responding pandemic covid-19 at their areas. This is a descriptive research in which the content analysis, literature review, and webinar are employed to collect the data. The data gathered analysed qualitatively. The CSR adopted by two corporates do not only deal with emergency and rehabilitation stages but also empower people to produce products needed during the pandemic covid-19. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2020.

Unexploded ordnance(UXO)poses a threat to soldiers operating in mission areas,but current UXO detection systems do not necessarily provide the required safety and efficiency to protect soldiers from this *** technological advancements in artificial intelligence(AI)and small unmanned aerial systems(sUAS)present an opportunity to explore a novel concept for UXO *** new UXO detection system proposed in this study takes advantage of employing an AI-trained multi-spectral(MS)sensor on *** paper explores feasibility of AI-based UXO detection using sUAS equipped with a single(visible)spectrum(SS)or MS digital electro-optical(EO)***,it describes the design of the Deep Learning Convolutional Neural Network for UXO detection,the development of an AI-based algorithm for reliable UXO detection,and also provides a comparison of performance of the proposed system based on SS and MS sensor imagery.

The offshore support vessel (OSV) industry is essential to the successful exploration and production of oil and gas at sea. Understanding the factors that dictate this industry’s success is crucial and can indicate the actions that must be taken by industry players to survive in this market. Despite the Brazilian OSV industry being part of an extensive supply network, decision-makers operating in this industry still do not know what the critical success factors (CSFs) are, which has implications for the flexibility of companies in this industry. In this context, this paper is devoted to the identification of the CSFs of the OSV industry in Brazil, a country that obtains 95% of its oil production from the sea and that has faced economic and political turbulence in recent years. In this study, nine macro CSFs and 25 micro CSFs were identified through a mixed-methodology approach. This study provides insights both for scholars and practitioners involved in not only the OSV industry but the entire oil and gas supply chain. © 2020, Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management.

Carbon dioxide(CO2)emissions from motor vehicles have been increasing in large urban centers,thus contributing to air *** general objective of this study is to analyze simulations of CO2 emissions among students who use public transport in the city of Passo Fundo,in the state of Rio Grande do Sul,***,this study was developed in three stages:(1)verification of the time used by higher education students at Faculdade Meridional(IMED)in relation to urban mobility;(2)understanding of the transport mode used by these students,taking into account the one which appears with the highest incidence;(3)simulating CO2 emissions from the modes of transport used by students after the application of the Environmental Impact Simulator(EIS)used by the National Public Transport Association(ANTP,in Portuguese)for the modeling of transport indexes aimed at analyzing CO2 *** considering the total of 3,079 students who assigned to a sample of 66 questionnaires,a reduction of CO2 emissions of 4,527.04 kg during a year in relation to the use of public transport was found.

This research offers an alternative for health workers to monitor the rehabilitation of a patient's Range of Motion (ROM) without using a goniometer instrument and attaching various sensors to the patient's body, based on a detection system using the MediaPipe library. The developed detection system measures angles concerning the patient's body ROM patterns. The algorithm in the MediaPipe library helps to produce line graphs of landmark pose which are then processed using the trigonometric gradient equation so that it can have to measure angles from ROM. The angle of ROM measured includes Flexion-Extension and Abduction-Adduction movements of the arms, legs, and body. The results of testing the detection system between the goniometer measurements and the detection results differ from the Right Arm Elbow Flexion-Extension movement to the Trunk Flexion-Extension movement having an angle difference. The most significant angle difference is in the Right Arm Elbow Abduction - Adduction movement of 9.1388°, and the minor difference is in the Right Leg Hip Abduction - Adduction movement of 2.15°. The most significant overall system error is in the Left Arm Elbow Flexion - Extension movement, with a general system error of 27%. The minor system error in Left Arm Elbow Abduction - Adduction movement is 11 %. © 2023 IEEE.

Global Value Chains (GVCs) significantly influence international trade and environmental outcomes. Despite the economic benefits of GVCs, their impact on the environment remains under-examined. This study analyzes the effects of GVC participation (considering forward and backward positions) on total carbon emissions embodied in exports (TEEE) and imports (TEEI). Utilizing panel data from 65 economies spanning 1995 to 2018, we apply input-output matrices and the system generalized method of moments (GMM-SYS) approach. Our results indicate that GVC participation generally is associated with reductions in TEEI and increases in TEEE, with backward participation exerting a more substantial impact. Furthermore, we observed asymmetrical impacts of GVC participation between developed and developing countries. Developed nations tend to reap greater benefits from GVC in terms of diminished CO2 emissions associated with imports, as well as notable CO2 reductions in both exports and imports, particularly when forward participation is the focal point. Conversely, developing countries grapple with heightened environmental burdens stemming from their engagement in backward linkages. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The use of remote sensing in the design of land use mapping allows analyses of landscape evolution during a certain period of time which helps studies in a global *** objective of this study is to identify and analyze changes in characteristics of rural land use in the municipality of Passo Fundo,located in the state of Rio Grande do Sul,Brazil,during the years 2001 and 2020,through images taken from the Landsat TM-7 and TM-8 ***,satellite images were classified by supervised methods,generating thematic maps,and taking into account the following groups:tillage(growing area),forest,exposed soil and water *** demonstrated that the process of connecting agricultural crop patches went from 5.495 in 2001 to a figure of 10.812 in 2020,thus having an increase of 96%.

AIM：To investigate the cytotoxic effects of spray-dried extracts of Phyllanthus niruri in combination with cis- platin on two cancer cell lines. METHODS： Colorectal carcinoma （HT29） and human hepatocellular carcinoma （HepG2） cells were treated with spray-dried extracts of Phyllanthus niruri （SDEPN） either alone or in combination with cisplatin at differ- ent concentrations （0.5 mg/mL and 1 mg/mL） for 4 h and 24 h. To verify and quantify cancer cells treated with these products as well as identify the cell cycle stage and cell viability, we stained the cells with prop- idium iodide and assessed them by flow cytometry. The percentage of cells in different cell cycle phases was quantified and data were expressed as histo- grams. Significant differences between groups were determined using analysis of variance and Bonferroni＇s test, as indicated. A value of P 〈 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. RESULTS： SDEPN had significantly different cyto- toxic effects on HT29 （2.81 4- 0.11 vs 3.51 4- 1.13, P 〉 0.05） and HepG2 （5.07± 0.3 vs 15.9 ± 1.04, P 〈 0.001） cells when compared to control cells for 4 h. SDEPN also had significantly different cytotoxic effects on HT29 （1.91 ± 0.57 vs 4.53± 1.22, P 〉 0.05） and HepG2 （14.56 ± 1.6 vs 35.67 ± 3.94, P 〈 0.001） cells when compared to control cells for 24 h. Both cell lines were killed by cisplatin in a dose-dependent manner compared to control cells （HepG2 cells for 4 h： 10.78 ± 1.58 vs 53.89 ± 1.53, P 〈 0.001; 24 h： 8.9 ± 1.43 vs 62.78 ± 1.87, P 〈 0.001 and HT29 cells for 4 h： 9.52 ±0.913 vs 49.86 ± 2.89, P 〈 0.001; 24 h： 11.78 ± 1.05 vs 53.34 ± 2.65, P 〈 0.001）. In HT29 cells, pretreat- ment with SDEPN and subsequent treatment with cis-platin resulted in a greater number of cells being killed （12.78 ± 1.01 vs 93.76 ± 1.6, P 〈 0.001）. HepG2 cells showed significant cell killing with treatment with SDEPN when combined with cisplatin （12.87 ± 2.78 vs 78.8 ± 3.02, P 〈 0.001）. CONCLUSION： SDEPN is selectively toxic ag
