This paper proposes a single-phase to three-phase drive system consisting of two parallel single-phase rectifiers, one three-phase inverter and an induction motor. It uses two parallel rectifiers without low frequency transformers, thus the reduction of circulating current is an important objective in the control system. In this paper the Modulated Model Predictive Control is used to regulate the grid current and minimize the circulating current between the parallel rectifiers. Simulation and experimental results validate the predictive control performance applied to the system with parallel single-phase rectifiers. © 2021 IEEE.

One of the main tools used in innovation management is the adoption of technology development process models. Its main particularities, as well as its main forms of use are presented in this study based on an extensive literature review on the subject. Different models are presented. The activities of acquiring knowledge, converting ideas into a technology base or platform and later used in the design of new products, processes or services, seek to meet or even generate new market needs. This study investigates trends in deep learning research on microscopic images to identify and classify plankton. We performed a bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer to display the visualizations. The first step is to extract the relevant journals from the Scopus database. Extraction from relevant journals found 42 articles, including 21 journals and 21 conferences. We analyzed publication trends and analyzes of co-authorship, co-occurrence, and citations. In addition, it examines the collaborative relationship between authors by country, the emergence of co-author keywords, and the citation of journal sources. We found that the researchers performed plankton classification tasks that achieved high accuracy (>90%). The plankton identification method uses a deep learning architecture based on the Convolutional Neural Network. Among the architectures are AlexNet, GoogleNet, InceptionV3, VGGNet (16.19), ResNet (50.101), DenseNet, NasNet, MobileNetV2, ResidualNet, Shufflenet, EfficienNet, and CapsNet. Some researchers combine CNN with SparseConvNets, LMP, SVM, MorphoCluster, and Quantification Algorithm (CC, AC, PCC, PAC, Hdy). Some methods also implement transfer learning, fine-tuning, and advanced features. In addition to the CNN approach, End-to-End Object Detection with transformers is one of the new approaches in the future to identify plankton. © 2022 IEEE.

Photovoltaic (PV) energy production is a promising and mature technology for producing renewable energy. By contrast, solar panel disposals can generate problems for waste management, given that the amount of PV solar energy e-waste is more significant than other types of e-waste, given that this waste contains abundant metals and toxic materials, and given that this energy is being increasingly used. Local solutions need to be discussed and evaluated so that the PV industry can provide sustainable renewable energy. This paper discusses the environmental impacts of PV solar energy and PV panel recycling in Brazil. More efficient technological solutions and process developments will be needed to adequately treat problems arising at the end of the useful life cycle of PV systems. However, more than these technological solutions and process developments are required. Political mechanisms and regulatory structures will also need to be developed and implemented at the end of the life cycle stage to prepare, encourage, and develop appropriate industrial waste treatment applications. The advent of sector agreements for electrical and electronic equipment in Brazil has partially dealt with these waste problems. Sector agreements list equipment and devices that must have defined reverse logistics systems. © 2023 The Authors

The diagnosis of the main complications resulting from lipoabdominoplasty has not yet been standardized. Infrared thermal imaging has been used to assess possible complications, such as necrosis and changes in micro- and macro-circulation, based on perforator mapping techniques, among others. The objective of this study was to present two clinical cases involving thermal imaging monitoring of the healing process of lipoabdominoplasty in the immediate postoperative evaluation and its preliminary results. Best practices for the rational use of water in construction sites in Brazil

Even though water is a scarce resource, not much thought has been given to its proper use during the execution phase of the building, unless this construction site has already acquired sustainability criteria or certification program. The purpose of this study is to assess the sustainability practice of the rational use of water and its application in the execution phase of construction sites in Brazil. The research proposes a list of items that facilitates the implementation of sustainability in construction sites by creating a checklist of sustainable practices based on environmental certification programs. This article uses the case study by a qualitative method, which can evaluate the major difficulties and the best occurrences of sustainable practices related to water use in construction sites. This work consists of six projects of various typologies and geographical locations in Brazil. The adoption of this list may serve as a tool for the implementation of sustainability in construction sites and as a benchmark among the companies. Finally, best practices for the rational use of water are proposed at the construction sites. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals LLC

The increasing use of IoT devices on future networks is very helpful for humans in their lives. However, the increase in devices connected to IoT networks also increases the potential for attacks against those networks. Vulnerabilities in Internet of Things (IoT) networks can be exposed at any time. Artificial intelligence can be used to protect the IoT network by being able to detect attacks on the network so that they can be prevented. In this study, network detection was carried out using the Deep Neural Network (DNN) algorithm. The test was carried out using the UNSW Bot-IoT dataset with a comparison of training data of 75% of the overall data. The results obtained show the ability of the algorithm to detect attacks on average with 99.999% accuracy. The validation loss and training loss look very small. In this study, there is a validation loss that still occurs in overfitting, but the difference is very small. © 2022 IEEE.

Public perception of the fulfillment of clean water needs will depend on a number of factors, including social, economic, cultural and community habits. This research was conducted in Nekmese Village in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This village is one of the villages that has not received good clean water services, even though this village has sufficient availability of clean water throughout the season. This study aims to examine the perception of rural communities in the provision of sustainable clean water. Data collection is done by observation and survey by interview and questionnaire. The results showed that 41% of respondents felt they were insufficient in providing clean water, while the other 59% felt they were insufficient. This fact is supported by the data on the use of clean water on average by 40 Lpcd. For the sustainability of clean water supply, the results of the study show positive perceptions from the community, but contrary to wasteful measures in water use, maintenance of water sources and participation in water supply in his village. This could be due to the low level of public education, and lack of hearing about information about clean water. The research recommends increasing the awareness and participation of the community in the provision of sustainable clean water. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Optimal Electrocoagulation as a Post-Treatment to Photochemical Oxidation: Minimal Electrical Energy Consumption and Lower Acute Toxicity of Dairy Wastewater

This work presents the enhancement of the electrocoagulation (EC) as a post-treatment to photochemical oxidation (UV/Fe2+/H2O2) by selecting of the current density (j;A m-2) and electrolysis time (t;min) for minimal specific electrical energy consumption (SEC;kWh per kg COD removed) and lower average lethal concentration (LC50;%) of dairy wastewater. According to Harrington desirability scale and based on experimental data, some scenarios were systematically evaluated to determine the EC conditions that could result in the most desirable overall profile to improve EC effectiveness. The performance was evaluated by the removal of the COD, TOC and Fe2+ remaining of the UV/Fe2+/H2O2. The EC effectiveness was characterized by the ideal current efficiency (;1.15±0.05), and the electrode mass consumed (g Al;0.674±0.030), by considering the minimal SEC (19.20 kWh per kg COD removed) and lowest operating cost (US $ 8.89 per kg COD removed), as well. This occurred in 85.71 A m-2, 35 min and initial pH 2.95, that ensured the degradation/mineralization of the organic matter (≈90% of removal) and the required circumneutral final pH (6.85±0.06) for safely directable final disposal. Besides, COD/TOC ratio went from 3.47 to 2.69, suggesting an increasing biodegradability of this wastewater, and a reducing of the toxicity that was verified by the lower acute toxicity (LC50 ≈88%). © 2022, The Authors. Applying constant precipitation intensity,which does not occur in natural events,is one of the main limitations concerning rainfall simulators in soil erosion *** present work evaluated the InfiAsper rainfall simulator operating with a new control panel to program rainfalls with different precipitation intensities(PI).Infiltration rates and soil and water losses were evaluated in a Distrophic Acrisol(clay loam texture)with simulated rainfalls of 30 mm and duration of 40 min,considering advanced(AD),intermediate(IN),delayed(DE),and inverted intermediate(II)patterns,all with PI peaks of 110 mm h^(-1),and a constant(CT)*** experimental design was in randomized blocks with five treatments(rainfall patterns)and experimental units measuring 2.5×2.5 *** simulator worked satisfactorily,applying the rainfall according to the preconfigured *** simulated rainfall with the CT and II patterns did not promote runoff nor soil *** and runoff rates varied according to the applied rainfall pattern,reaching 97.8 and 27.3 mm h^(-1)(AD),82.1 and 39.5 mm h^(-1)(IN),and 76.2 and 49.7 mm h^(-1)(DE),*** loss and surface runoff totaled each 4.77 g m^(-2)and 3.9 mm(AD),6.70 g m^(-2)and 6.8 mm(IN),and 6.03 g m^(-2)and 7.0 mm(DE).The InfiAsper simulator modified enables varying precipitation intensity besides obtaining satisfactory results in the field and information consistent with the expected characteristics of natural rainfall *** the intermediate and delayed rainfall patterns,soil and water losses are higher than in the advanced.
