Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are becoming the future type of power plant to meet the electrical energy needs of buildings. The open roof of the building facing the sky has the potential to harvest energy from solar energy. The roof of the Faculty of engineering Laboratory Building at Riau University has the potential to be used to capture solar energy. In this study, the research is focused on designing a comprehensive solar PV system that adapts to the geographical conditions of the campus. The data was calculated using software to design and analyze the rooftop PV system. Meteorological data was collected using an automatic weather station (AWS). The data measured through the AWS includes solar irradiation, temperature, humidity, and wind speed. The data is sampled once every 5 minutes, resulting in 12 data points per hour. The amount of data for one day is 12 multiplied by 24 hours. The total data for one month is obtained by multiplying the daily data by the number of days in the month. In details of this study, the PV panels were installed on the roof space of the Laboratory Building which is grid-connected. In addition, detailed technical analysis including effective roof area, roof orientation, number of panels and power capacity of the proposed PV were analyzed. As the result an effective roof area of 1,510.500 m2, the total number of panels of 656 pieces, the total power capacity of 229,600 Wp, and the total amount of energy generated by the module array of 160,545 kWh per year were achieved respectively. The energy delivered to the grid amounted to as much as 155,414 kWh per year. The specific energy generated was 677 kWh/KWp/year and the Performance Ratio (PR) reached 82%.

There are a large number of people in the world who live without an adequate supply of clean water, and spend hours to get clean water. For this reason, access to water and water sources is one of the main keys to meeting the needs of the community's clean water, specifically rural communities in the semi-arid regions of Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the extent to which access to clean water sources affects the patterns of water use and fulfillment of rural communities. The method used is a survey completed with a questionnaire and observation. The object of the research was the rural water user community in TTS Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province with a total of 87 families, and water sources in the study area. Samples were divided into three areas which were categorized as dry, normal and wet. based on the analysis of rainfall data at 14 rain stations. The results showed an average water use level of 49 Lpcd (SD = 25) and the distance to the water source as far as 521 m (SD = 1100). There is a negative correlation between the distance of the water source and the amount of clean water used. Water availability factors affect water usage more than long distances but can be reached. This study also found that the use of clean water by the community is adaptive to the availability of water according to environmental conditions. This study recommends the importance of handling clean water issues according to the characteristics of each different region. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Roof ponds (RP) can promote comfortable thermal conditions, particularly in single-storey buildings. They allow structural cooling or heating and stabilization of surface and air temperatures. When coupled to radiant panels cooled by the exposed pond, they can further improve their thermal performance. However, there is a lack of research on RPs focusing on the thermal perception of users indoors. The main objective of this study was to evaluate empirically under hot dry summer conditions the thermal perceptions of volunteer participants in an indoor environment conditioned by a system composed of radiant panels coupled to a RP. We also sought to assess the applicability of the PMV model and the passive building models of ASHRAE Standard 55 and EN-15251 under these conditions, through comparison with subjective thermal votes reported by the study participants. In a test building at Ben-Gurion University of Negev, Israel, a sample of 46 participants found a room cooled only by a RP. Sports Science is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary science that strives to increase athletic performance and endurance. Sport Science recognizes and prevents injuries. Sensors and statistics formalize Sports Science. Runners need coaches and teams to support them before, during, and after the run race. Coaches generate running training plans to boost performance. Running race performances may be impacted by air pollution exposure while training, so coaches should consider limiting air pollution exposure when training. One of the external factors is Particulate Matter (PM 2.5 and PM 10 ). Sensors connecting to the Internet can record external factors and produce csv data. The foundation of supervised machine learning is the labeling process. Labeling a set of data is one of the laborious and time-consuming phases in every machine-learning application because it requires verifying the accuracy of the labels and making any necessary revisions. This research aimed to find a solution to automatically label numerous air particulate matter raw data using a rule based on parameters to reduce manual work, human errors and faster processes. This labeled data will later be used for supervised machine learning classification to support the coach in generating training programs for the runners in a Sports Information System. Based on Indonesia Air Quality index rule-based approach, labeled text data in csv has been generated and tested with PM 2.5 and PM 10 parameters in three scenarios with a 100% success rate. It was possible to automate the labeling process, and it explained how automation results in fast and accurate results.

This research aimed at (1) developing the engine management system's learning media video, (2) knowing the feasibility of developing the engine management system's learning media video with assessment from media and material, also (3) knowing the responses of the lightweight vehicle engineering students of National Berbah Vocational High School toward the engine management system's learning media video. The research of the engine management system's learning media video is a research and development (R&D) study that employed 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). Data collection technique carried out front analyses and questionnaires then analysis of feasibility is carried out by describing it into five categories such as the Likert scale. The results of this development study are the engine management system's learning media video contained the three materials which were characteristics, functions, and the working of sensors, actuators, and electronic control unit, the media feasibility of this learning media is determined by assessment of material expert (4.3), media feasibility based on media expert (4.1), then student responses as the user get a grade (3.5), so the engine management system's learning media video was feasible to be used in the learning process. © 2020 Institute of Physics Publishing. Mortars are subject to contact with aggressive agents from the environment. Sulfates are aggressive to the cement matrix, mainly due to the appearance of expansive reactions between these ions and hydrated products of the cement paste. This study aimed to analyze the behavior of mortars with two types of Portland cement, exposed to solutions with sodium sulfate (Na₂SO₄) and magnesium sulfate (MgSO₄). The following properties of mortars were evaluated during the exposure to sulfates (up to 42 days): linear variation, mass variation, and ultrasonic pulse velocity. The formation of a gel layer on the samples exposed to the MgSO₄ solution was observed, associated with the formation of brucite (Mg(OH)₂). This gel behaved as a protective barrier, reducing the ingress of sulfate ions. The intensity of changes in mortar properties was affected by the type of cement and the type of sulfate. Statistical analyzes were performed to support the analyses. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The use of radionuclides for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes is the primary function of nuclear medicine. Among these radionuclides, the iodine family stands out as isotopes that can serve various purposes, including brachytherapy, scintigraphy, and research. The internal dosimetry of these nuclides becomes even more important when considering high-risk groups such as pregnant patients, as it involves concerns for both the mother and the fetus. This study aims to use Monte Carlo simulations to calculate S-values for a set of target organs in both the pregnant woman and the fetus, considering different source organs in the mother and three iodine isotopes: 131I, 125I, and 123I. The results indicated that 131I, with the highest emission energy, presented a high dose deposition pattern in target organs farther from the source organs, while 125I, with the lowest energy, showed a localized dose absorption pattern in adjacent organs. The highest S-values (all in mGy/MBq.s) were obtained for the pregnant woman, with values of 5.8E-05 in the thyroid using 123I and 125I, and 3.7E-04 in the bladder using 131I. For fetal organs, the most irradiated were the brain and skull using 131I, with values of 6.3E-06 and 5.6E-06, respectively, while the lowest values were associated with the use of 125I in source organs distant from the target organ, with contributions as low as 1E-12 for the thyroid as a source. This work presents a qualitative and quantitative study of the internal dosimetry of a pregnant patient and her fetus, addressing variables such as radioactive isotope and source and target organs, serving as a reference for dosimetric calculations deemed necessary in clinical practices to minimize the dose received by this critical group. © 2025, The Authors. Lithium lanthanum titanate (LLTO) perovskite is one of the most promising electrolytes for all-solid-state batteries, but its performance is limited by the presence of grain boundaries (GBs). The fraction of GBs can be significantly reduced by the preparation of coarse-grained LLTO ceramics. In this work, we describe an alternative approach to the fabrication of ceramics with large LLTO grains based on self-seeded grain growth. In compositions with the starting stoichiometry for the Li0.20La0.60TiO3 phase and with a high excess addition of Li (Li:La:Ti = 11:15:25), microstructure development starts with the formation of the layered RP-type Li2La2Ti3O10 phase. Grains with many RP-type defects initially develop into large platelets with thicknesses of up to 10 μm and lengths over 100 μm. Microstructure development continues with the crystallization of LLTO perovskite, epitaxially on the platelets and as smaller grains with thinner in-grain RP-lamellae. Theoretical calculations confirmed that the formation of RP-type sequences is energetically favored and precedes the formation of the LLTO perovskite phase. At around 1250 °C, the RP-type sequences become thermally unstable and gradually recrystallize to LLTO via the ionic exchange between the Li-rich RP-layers and the neighboring Ti and La layers as shown by quantitative HAADF-STEM. At higher sintering temperatures, LLTO grains become free of RP-type defects and the small grains recrystallize onto the large platelike seed grains via Ostwald ripening. The final microstructure is coarse-grained LLTO with total ionic conductivity in the range of 1 × 10-4 S/cm. © 2024 The Authors. Published by American Chemical Society.

The mandatory carbon reduction guidelines and regulations in Indonesia encourage all industrial sectors particularly the petroleum industry to implement decarbonization programs by systematically reducing carbon emissions as part of climate action. Unlike existing carbon emission studies in the petroleum industry, the literature lacks studies on the decarbonization patterns. In addition, the effectiveness of carbon mitigation in the upstream oil and gas field has not been studied so far. This study developed short panel data models to understand the current decarbonization efforts and patterns during 2015–2018. The results indicate that the considered variables are significantly impactful in carbon reduction with different coefficient patterns. It is suggested to associate decarbonization with oil and gas production and highlight energy efficiency optimization to stabilize production. The impact of financial, human, and administrative resources on the supporting facility is critical for executing sustainable carbon mitigation projects. © 2024 The Authors

Multicriteria analysis of factors causing land subsidence at lowlands area (case study at Tanjung Api-Api Area)

Lowland area is one of the areas that are vulnerable to land subsidence. The impacts of land subsidence are tidal flooding, damage to infrastructure, seawater intrusion, and others. Many factors cause land subsidence, both natural and non-natural characteristics. Hence, a multicriteria analysis needs to be done to determine the dominant factor causing land subsidence in the lowland area. The multicriteria analysis will produce weight values from each factor causing land subsidence that can be used as a basis for disaster mitigation to create maps of potential land subsidence in lowland areas. In this study, the multicriteria analysis uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) by making a paired matrix for each criterion and sub-criteria for causes of land subsidence. Respondents used in this study are people who are experts in the fields of geotechnical, disaster, and environmental. The results showed that there were five dominant/main factors causing land subsidence in lowland areas, namely soil type (0.25), soft soil thickness (0.185), land use/land cover (0.169), embankment height (0.109), and groundwater extraction (0.106). Topographic, geological, and rainfall conditions are factors of land subsidence in lowlands with a weight value of <0.1. The higher weight and score values indicate the area has high land subsidence potential.
