Until now, the need for energy continues to increase while the energy source is running low. Therefore, the Government issued various policies to conserve resources and improve the efficiency of energy utilization. One is through energy conservation programs in all sectors of life, called the 10% Cutting Movement. The program is promoted in the hope that people can reduce energy consumption up to 10% of daily energy use as well as in the academic environment. This research aims to implement a 10% cutting movement in lighting system in Diponegoro University postgraduate building and find out how much savings can be achieved. The implementation is carried out purely and modified by following existing standards. Pure implementation is done by setting a target of 10% savings on the overall energy consumption of the lighting system. While modification implementation is done by determining the 10% savings target, then adjusting the lamp usage hours. The savings obtained from the pure implementation amounted to 1.91 MWh / year, whereas in modifications implementation results obtained in the amount of 1.99 MWh / year. This research aims for the production of biodiesel (methyl ester) with the raw material of palm sludge oil (PSO) and perform a feasibility analysis through the parameters of Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return (compare to bank interests rate), and Simple Payback Period on the small industrial scale 50-70 litters the biodiesel production obtained 91.30% yield from. Biodiesel can replace diesel oil as a fuel boiler for industrial use based on the quality parameters analysed, including methyl ester content, calorie value, flash point, viscosity and density. A large number of robotic kits is commercially available for children education nowadays. Regarding the programming possibilities of these kits, they are usually divided into three categories: i) textual languages based kits, ii) digital blocks based kits and iii) tangible blocks based kits. In tangible blocks kits, the programming instructions are represented by physical - touchable - elements like blocks, cards or buttons. Since these are concrete objects, they are usually more playful and accessible for young children mainly in the concrete operational stage. Another relevant aspect in robotic kits is the possibility for children to follow the code execution at runtime. This process may be crucial for comprehending the programming process and for developing debugging abilities. In tangible programming based kits, this visual tracking is far more complex than in textual or digital blocks based kits since it typically requires the transmission of information between a lot of distinct physical pieces. The present work proposes and discusses the implementation of a digital electronic circuit with bluetooth communication designed for educational robotics kit and capable to provide a visual feedback. Results demonstrate that the proposed circuit is functional and feasible for embedding in robotic kits at a low cost.

Using of r-factor which is higher can speed up the scanning time in parallel imaging techniques but causes a decrease in contrast to noise ratio (CNR), thus causing image quality not optimal in the MRI Lumbar examination of the T2WI turbo spin echo (TSE) generalized autocalibrating partially parallel acqusitions (GRAPPA) herniated nucleus pulposus case. Fast scanning time is needed by using a higher r-factor to get the optimal image with improved CNR. Spectral subtraction denoising (SSD) is one of filter technique that can be used to improve image quality, CNR is one of the parameters used in determine image quality, SSD is expected to be able improved CNR to have good image quality. The purpose was to measure changes of image quality CNR. This type of research is a pre-experimental research with a one group pretest-posttest design to determine the differences in CNR quality by applying SSD to the r-factor variations in the lumbar MRI image of T2WI TSE GRAPPA sagital. Development of eco-friendly brick waste-based geopolymers: effect of calcium incorporation on rheology, compressive strength, microstructure, and eco-efficiency

This study investigated the development of geopolymers from low-reactivity residual precursors for the development of eco-efficient geopolymers. Brick waste (BW) was used as the sole precursor. Calcium hydroxide (CH) was used to enhance the properties of the geopolymers. Semi-adiabatic calorimetry and rheological tests evaluated the fresh state. Compressive strength, water absorption, and void index tests evaluated the mechanical properties. XRD, SEM, and EDS analyses investigated the microstructure. Embodied energy and carbon emissions were used to analyze the sustainability of the geopolymers. The results showed that the incorporation of high levels of CH increased the yield stress, plastic viscosity, and thixotropy. Conversely, the incorporation of CH was essential to improve compressive strength. The increase in compressive strength varied between 61.1 % and 126.2 % at 28 days due to the incorporation of CH. Microstructural analyses indicated that the C-A-S-H gel promoted an increase in compressive strength. Semi-adiabatic calorimetry showed that CH incorporation accelerated the geopolymerization reactions. Compressive strength was limited by the zeolite formation observed in the 20 % CH mixture. The sustainability analysis showed that the mixtures with 10 % and 15 % CH produced higher eco-efficiency and better results in terms of rheological and compressive strength, respectively. In conclusion, this study showed that geopolymers can be produced from low-reactivity waste materials, contributing to the development of sustainable construction materials.

Flexibility in the Brazilian Industry 4.0: Challenges and Opportunities

The aim of this study is to analyze the results of a research carried out in Brazilian manufacturing companies that have typical initiatives of Industry 4.0, in order to identify the main challenges and opportunities of building a flexible industry and to provide elements that enable manufacturers to guide this construction with a little more security. Through the literature review, 28 challenges and 23 opportunities were identified and submitted by a questionnaire to 39 leaders of national and multinational manufacturing companies in Brazil, identifying which challenges and opportunities were the most and the least important. This study brings two theoretical contributions: it enriches the literature on challenges and opportunities of flexibility and draws attention to issues on the implementation of a flexible industry that needs studies. The management contributions are: (1) show the relative importance of 28 challenges and 23 opportunities and (2) detail the content of 24 questions (the 6 most and the 6 least relevant challenges and opportunities) in order to give certain security to the manufacturers to guide the building of the flexible industry and direct implementation actions. The limitations of this study are the reduced number of companies and segments of economy observed (Auto Parts, Metal-mechanics and Metallurgy) for an empirical study and the opinions of leaders in a moment, which may change, not allowing generalizations. © 2020, Global Institute of Flexible Systems Management.

REMOVAL OF ASPIRIN IN PHARMACEUTICAL WASTEWATER BY ELECTROCOAGULATION METHODS

According to several researchers reporting, it was reported that organic pollutants dissolved in water were increasing. One of these increasing pollutants is aspirin. Our study aimed to remove aspirin in pharmaceutical wastewater by electrocoagulation, using an aluminum plate (15 cm x 4 cm x 0.5 cm) as an anode and a carbon plate (15 cm x 4 cm x 0.5 cm) as a cathode. Aspirin-containing organic pollutant samples (artificial) were prepared by dissolving aspirin purchased from a pharmacy in distilled water of varying concentrations. Before and after the sample is purified by the electrocoagulation process, its character is measured. pH, color, chemical oxygen demand (COD), turbidity, density, and conductivity were measured. The differences in the character of organic pollutants (aspirin) before and after electrocoagulation were explained from various points of view, such as electrode distance, initial pH, current density, and contact time. The kinetic processes that occur are also observed and reported. Indicators of soluble aspirin pollutants, such as pH, color, turbidity, density, and conductivity, decreased significantly. Furthermore, the dissolved aspirin pollutant was associated with research variables such as electrode distance, initial pH, current density, and contact time. Electrocoagulation can be considered an alternative method to treat wastewater containing aspirin pollutants. © 2022 Science Press. All rights reserved.

The study investigated the impact of different preparation techniques (Mechanical Mixing - MM and High Energy Milling - HEM) and compaction pressures on the microstructure, sinterability and mechanical properties of the Cu-20 %WC composite using recycled WC. The results indicated that HEM promotes greater homogeneity, dispersion and refinement of the WC phase in copper, resulting in denser and more uniform microstructures after sintering. Although higher pressures increased the density of green compacts, they reduced densification during sintering, especially for powders prepared by MM, due to the segregation of the Cu and WC phases. On the other hand, compacts sintered with HEM powders prsented higher Vickers microhardness and better magnetic properties, attributed to the uniform distribution of WC particles and the increase in the interaction between the phases. Furthermore, the study highlights the influence of metallic impurities (Fe, Co and Ni) on the magnetic properties of the composite materials.

Exploring variations in quality parameters of Theobroma cacao *** from Eastern Amazonia

The cocoa tree (Theobroma cacao L.) is a native crop of the tropical forests of Central America and the Amazon. It plays an important role in the economy of producing regions;however, the infrastructure remains incipient, leading to inadequate processing practices and affecting the quality of the cocoa beans. Therefore, this research aimed to evaluate the quality of 55 samples of Amazonian cocoa beans produced in five regions of state of Pará (Lower Tocantins River, Northeast, West, Southeast, and Trans-Amazon) through physical and physicochemical evaluations (proteins, lipids, moisture, ash, pH, acidity, and water activity), and a questionnaire with producers about fermentation and drying practices. This was followed by physical, physicochemical, antioxidant capacity, quantification of total polyphenols, and bioactive compound evaluations. According to the physical evaluation, the samples met the acceptable commercial standard, but the cut test results showed a lack of standardization in the pre-processing of cocoa beans according to the International Cocoa Organization (ICCO). Among the physicochemical parameters, moisture was within the limit tolerated by legislation, and only lipids showed significant differences. Regarding antioxidant capacity, total polyphenols, and bioactive compounds, only the bioactive compounds showed significant differences, with the Lower Tocantins River region exhibiting higher values for all studied compounds. Inadequate processing practices, such as poor fermentation and drying, may lead to quality deficiencies in cocoa beans. Therefore, this study emphasizes the need for characterization of commercial cocoa beans, as well as standardization in the pre-processing of these beans.
