Fuzzy Time Series for Forecasting Railway Passengers in Indonesia

Some fuzzy time series models have their own advantages and disadvantages. In addition, these models sometimes are complex and claimed to have better forecasting result than each other. The suitable model for forecasting depends on a wide variety of considerations. The models proposed by Chen (1996) applied simplified arithmetic operations and claimed more efficiency than before. The model proposed by Chen was introduced in 1996 and still exists in several previous studies. This research aims to forecast the number of railway passengers in Indonesia using the fuzzy time series. In addition, this research also evaluates the forecasting results based on mean absolute error (MAE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). The results showed the forecasting results in this research has accuracy for 86.6%.

The problem faced by many hospitals in Indonesia is the low efficiency of Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) hospitals. If it does not get the attention, it will have an impact on health and environmental pollution. Various technologies have been used but experienced many obstacles. Constructed wetlands based on aquatic plants that have been used in developed countries are very prospects of being developed in regions such as Indonesia with a tropical climate. A preliminary study is needed with the first step to investigate the quality of hospital wastewater in Palu City, Indonesia, as a sample. This study aims to obtain a description of hospital wastewater characteristics and to evaluate the performance of the hospital WWTP in Palu. Data collection was done by taking data indirectly through laboratory test results during 2015-2019. Tabulating data using Excel software to illustrate statistics, then presented in the form of bar charts, interpreting according to the quality standards. Investigation results showed that the characteristics of hospital inlet wastewater in Palu are parameter values varying with four high concentration parameters: total coliform, TSS, Ammonia Nitrogen, and COD. The efficiency level of WWTP hospitals in Palu is relatively low in removing pollutants.

There was a delay in the project schedule of Emergency Department construction in Pidie Jaya Regency Hospital located in Aceh Province, Indonesia, and therefore potential to cause construction waste. Construction project activity is a long process of activity and everything in the project that adds costs is called waste. Theoretically, minimizing waste can be done using the Lean Management method. This study aims to identify the most influential waste on the project by applying Lean Management. Based on the literature review, there is eight waste used in this study: Defect, Overproduction, Waiting, Over-processing, Motion, Inventory, Transportation, and Design. Waste identification data were obtained from interviews with 4 key persons and questionnaires distributed to 16 respondents working on the project. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from Working Drawings, a list of core personnel of the contractor company, and an S Curve (Schedule). Through descriptive analysis, this study found that the most influential waste is Waiting and Over-processing. This finding required a follow-up to control the identified waste in order for the project back on schedule.

Computational fluid dynamics simulation of thermodynamic behaviour of tubular digester

The anaerobic digesters have been widely used worldwide and followed by the environmental treatment, biogas (energy source) and biofertilizers can be produced at the same process. The plug flow digester is the most common digester system in Brazil, but it still faces great difficulties of implementation because of the low efficiency. In this context, this work proposes ways of improving the energy efficiency of such a digester. To this end, simulations were performed for this type of digester in order to analyze the thermodynamic behavior. It was possible to verify that the velocity gradient was acceptable for the studied reactor characteristics, that is, 0.054, and the average temperature reached with the heating system was 33ºC, which is considered an optimal temperature for biogas production. The simulation proved to be an important tool in scenarios using the digester model and can be of help when designing new units and in different cases of agitation. However the model used here does not evaluate the thermal changes of the digester plastic blanket due to the simplification of the simulation.

Hard water is one of crucial problems in the world due to its pollutant parameters. Adsorption is a promising method for treating hard water because of its benefits such as low-cost, easy to use, acceptable, and easy to maintenance. In this study, we utilized zeolite functionalized with silicon/aluminum (Ze-Si/Al) as adsorbent materials for hard water treatment. Ten different ratios of Si/Al were added into zeolite by modifying the solid waste source concentration (pumice and cans). The optimum sample was then further tested with different parameters including contact time, dye concentration, and isotherm models. The zeolite-Si/Al adsorbent was characterized by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). Results of this study have showed that the best functionalized zeolite was that with Si/Al ratio 0.67, which has higher sorption ability. In contact time test, the equilibrium was reached after 300 min. This study also informed that the concentration of dyes will give impact on removal of pollutant parameters. Isotherm model of Ze-Si/Al fitted with Langmuir method. This study also discussed the potential development and future research direction. Thus, this study is a crucial report to develop the information about waste utilization as source of Si/Al to increasing quality of zeolite. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

Two phase gas-liquid flow appears in several engineering applications, such as boiling nuclear reactors, oil and gas industry, chemical plants, among others. For this phenomenon's study the experimental facility Wave Film Generator (GEPELON, Generador de Película Ondulatoria) was constructed. It uses conductivity sensors for the multi-phase flow analysis in vertical pipes. In this work, we propose the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics for modelling the falling liquid films regime in this facility. Specifically, this air-water flow regime consists of a water film that falls down the pipe wall and a central region with stagnant air. We build up a simplified installation's geometrical model, considering a mass flow boundary condition in the inlet and constant pressure in the outlet. To capture the water-air interface a non-uniform structured mesh with fine elements close to the wall was constructed. Using a Volume of Fluid (VOF) model and the FLUENT solver, we simulate different flow rates and from the water volumetric fraction we estimate the film thickness in all the domain. The simulations are stationary and due to the hydrodynamic complexity, a pseudo-transient approach was used to stabilize the iterative process. The simulation values were compared with the experimental results obtained in the GEPELON facility. A mesh independence analysis was performed and several mass flows were simulated, showed good agreement with the experimental values for lower flows and reasonable for higher flows. copyright © Crown copyright (2018).All right reserved.

Risk profile for E-Rapor services for public high school

The Indonesian government has implemented E-Rapor to be employed in Indonesia since 2016. During 2016 until 2022 the usage of E-Rapor has identified some risk issues from the school perspective. Therefore, this research aims to identify the risk of the usage of E-Rapor. The research method for this study is to use a case in one of the public high schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. The usage of E-Rapor started in 2016. The E-Rapor system’s objective is to give easy access to students’ result data (evaluation card) to the central government (DAPODIK), school principals, teachers, and student’s parents. However, the implementation of the E-Rapor system has created some risk However, implementing E-Rapor in Schools has created issues among teachers. Therefore, this research proposes a study to identify the risk of the E-Raport system adopting COBIT 2019. The risk profiles are identified only on the governing E-Rapor in School. The case study research was conducted in SMAN 61 Jakarta. The result shows that types of risks that occur in High School are lack of IT Expertise, lack of Standard Operating Procedures, and issues with E-Rapor usage. After recognizing the risk, this study also proposes a strategy for overcoming the risk. The High School needs to be concerned on the area of Managing Human Resources (APO7), Domain DSS03 (Managing Issues), and Domain DSS05 (Managing Security Services)

Recent evidence shows that deleting brain insulin receptors leads to mildobesity and insulin resistance without influencing brain size and apoptosis ***, deleting insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R) affects brain size anddevelopment, and contributes to behavior changes. Insulin is synthesized locally in the brain andis released from the neurons. Here, we reviewed proposed pathophysiological hypotheses toexplain increased risk of dementia in the presence of DM. Regardless of the exact sequence ofevents leading to neurodegeneration, there is strong evidence that mitochondrial dysfunctionplays a key role in AD and DM. A triple transgenic mouse model of AD showed mitochondrialdysfunction, oxidative stress, and loss of synaptic integrity. These alterations are comparable tothose induced in wild-type mice treated with sucrose, which is consistent with the proposal thatmitochondrial alterations are associated with DM and contribute to AD development. Alterationsin insulin/IGF-1 signaling in DM could lead to mitochondrial dysfunction and low antioxidantcapacity of the cell. The search for making industrial systems smarter is a challenge present in the Industry 4.0 scope. In this new industrial era, the automation processes operate in a more flexible and adaptable way, even if there is a system fault. However, depending on the level of complexity of the system operation, faut diagnosis and fault handling procedures can become difficult to evaluate and implement, especially when it is necessary to integrate them into the control system. Based on this challenging scenario, this article presents RAFAH, a reconfiguration architecture for fault handling in industrial systems. RAFAH is composed by three operational stages that autonomously compute flexible fault tolerant control strategies, combining formal methods for faults diagnosis in discrete event systems, supervisory control theory's extensions for modelling and designing control systems, and IEC 61499 resources for developing distributable and reconfigurable applications. The proposed methodology is validated by a case study in a fluid mixing process in which it is applied to diagnose faults and provide a new control strategy.
