One of the negative impacts of settlements and urbanization is the decline in groundwater quality. In maintaining the sustainability of groundwater for a long period of time, a special study is needed, which can be done by examining groundwater vulnerability. The alluvial plain of Semarang City currently faces environmental problems such as degradation of groundwater quality which is the negative impact of the settlement, The purpose of this study was to examine groundwater vulnerability in the alluvial plain area of Semarang City. The Susceptibility Index method is using a spatial analysis tool based on rating and weighting value of some parameters, i.e. Depth of groundwater, recharge, aquifer media, slope, and land use. The result of this research reveals that about 41.3% area is covered under the high vulnerable zone, 50.3% area under moderately vulnerable zone and 8.4% area under the low vulnerable zone. 7 sub districts namely Tugu, Semarang Barat, Semarang Utara, Semarang Timur, Gayamsari, Pedurungan and Genuk, most of which are in the high vulnerability zone. Whereas the Ngaliyan, Semarang Selatan, Semarang Tengah, Candisari, and Gajah Mungkur, which are mostly in the low to moderate vulnerability zones. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2019.

Aluminum slag wastes are categorized as hazardous waste so that their disposal in the soil without any treatment can cause serious environmental problems, especially groundwater contamination. This paper aims to assess the suitability of groundwater for drinking purposes around aluminum slag waste disposal areas in SumobitoSub district and Kesamben Subdistrict, Jombang Regency. The disposal area that potentially contaminates groundwater is estimated at 31.367 m2 with a volume of 96.470 m3. This study executed a comprehensive literature review of aluminum slag waste characteristics, the environmental impact, groundwater contamination, and management. The methods were monitoring results in 28shallow wells around the disposal area using in situ measurement for parameter pH, temperature TDS, conductivity. Results show that groundwater quality in Bakalan Village, Sebani Village, Talun Kidul Village, Carangrejo Village, Kendalsari Village, and Budug Villageexceed the Indonesian standard for drinking water. This paper attempts to provide a preliminary study for decision-making in groundwater management in the affected area. Further study for the heavy metal parameter in groundwater around the disposal area needs to be conducted.

Soil erosion is one of the most serious degradation problems in the world, so in Indonesia. The average level of global soil erosion ranges from 12-15 Ton/ha/yr, or it can be said that there is a surface soil loss of 0.90-0.95 mm of land. While the watershed in Indonesia is 458 in which 60 are critically heavy, 222 critical and 176 potentially critical. An action is needed to reduce erosion rates which is one of the causes of damage to the watershed. Soil erosion modeling is a method used in estimating the amount of soil erosion that occurs in an area. Various models of soil erosion are developed with the aim of producing precise erosion estimates. This study will discuss soil erosion modeling (definition, classification of models and proceed) and a review of erosion assessment models that are widely used in Indonesia (USLE, MUSLE, RUSLE, and SWAT). By knowing each erosion estimation model, hope can be able to choose the right model according to the study to be conducted. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2019.

This study aims to describe the inculcation of character values and describe the values of superior character and require strengthening through activities for the 21st century in vocational schools, Indonesia. Descriptive qualitative research approach was chosen to reveal the existing phenomena based on the perspective of four vocational teachers involved with the characteristics of two female vocational teachers and two male vocational teachers from public and private school status. Teaching practice experience was considered in the selection of participants, namely 13-25 years, revealing that vocational teachers are actively involved in the formation and cultivation of student character values through school activities or programs and learning practice activities. The data collection technique uses a deep interview a long time 60-90 minutes with an interview instrument of eight questions. The results of the study found as many as five main character values namely Nationalist, Religious, Integrity, Independence, Mutual cooperation with the superior character in vocational students is Integrity, but on the other hand the character is low and needs to be improved, namely Independence due to the lack of self-confidence, initiative in completing responsibilities responsibility in the form of student work. The inculcation of character values in school activities can be seen in school rules, religious activities, extracurricular (scouts, student religious organizations) as well as practical learning activities including (teamwork, 5R culture and occupational health and safety. The formation of character value is an important variable for postgraduates in vocational education and a major consideration for DUIKA in Indonesia.

This work presents two brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) for shoulder pre-movement recognition using: 1) manual strategy for Electroencephalography (EEG) channels selection, and 2) subject-specific channels selection by applying non-negative factorization matrix (NMF). Besides, the proposed BCIs compute spatial features extracted from filtered EEG signals through Riemannian covariance matrices and a linear discriminant analysis (LDA) to discriminate both shoulder pre-movement and rest states. We studied on twenty-one healthy subjects different frequency ranges looking the best frequency band for shoulder pre-movement recognition. As a result, our BCI located automatically EEG channels on the contralateral moved limb, and enhancing the pre-movement recognition (ACC = 71.39 ± 12.68%, κ = 0.43 ± 0.25%). The ability of the proposed BCIs to select specific EEG locations more cortically related to the moved limb could benefit the neuro-rehabilitation process.

Career Centre has a main role as a division in Vocational Secondary School (VSS) to bridge the students and alumni with their work field. Finding out how the success of the Career Centre's performance is very important for evaluation purposes. This study aimed to: (1) find out the role of the Career Centre in distributing the graduates of VSS in Yogyakarta at the workplace; (2) find out the obstacle experienced and its solution. This was evaluation research using the quantitative descriptive approach. The results showed that Career Centre's role was good accumulatively viewed from five aspects: (1) as seeker and provider of employment information; (2) conducting a coaching and employee briefing for students/alumni; (3) regarding stakeholders' partnership; (4) regarding recruitment, selection, and graduate distribution; and (5) graduates tracing. As doing their role, Career Centres faced some obstacles, such as a limited number of administrators, mismatching skills among vocational graduates, less developed IT utilisation, and less organized administrative management. Career Centre's performance has not been optimal thus it needs innovation. Optimizing technology utilisation by creating an information system with important and helpful features will improve the Career Centre in doing their role. Those features will facilitate the students, alumni, and administrators regarding job vacancies and recruitment information, work field recommendation, graduates' tracing, administrative management, etc.

Energy is one of the needs to support daily human activities. Without energy, various activities such as industry, health, and household will be disrupted. Total energy consumption in Indonesia in 2018 reached 875 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE), which was dominated by fuel oil. It illustrates that national energy consumption is still dominated by primary energy sources originating from fossil fuels. Various previous studies have suggested the environmental and health impacts of air pollution from burning fossil fuels. This article will briefly discuss biomass as a primary energy source based on the results of literature studies. The discussion section will discuss the environmental impacts of biomass utilization based on several scientific studies and the form of biomass utilization in Indonesia that has been carried out. As a follow-up to several scientific facts, it is necessary to mix other primary energy from new and renewable energy sources.

Fish is a food with high nutritional value, but its quickly perishable nature requires a hygiene process to maintain product quality and increase shelf life. The objective of this study was to evaluate different chlorine concentrations in water for sanitizing Nile tilapia fillets on the formation of trihalomethanes (THM) in fresh and frozen stored fish fillets. A completely randomized experimental design was used, in a 2×3 split-plot arrangement, with 15 replications;the plots consisted of fresh and frozen fish fillets, and the subplots consisted of the three chlorine concentrations in the water for sanitizing the fillets (100, 175, and 250 mg L-1). Fresh fish analysis showed the following variations in THM levels: 1.4 to 6.8 μg kg-1 (chloroform), 0.5 to 3.2 μg kg-1 (bromodichloromethane), and 0.4 to 1.2 μg kg-1 (dibromochloromethane). Bromoform ranged from 3.7 μg kg-1 to undetected levels in the different tested storage times. Frozen fish analyses showed concentrations ranging from 2.1 to 5.2 μg kg-1 (chloroform) and 0.6 to 2.0 μg kg-1 (bromodichloromethane), while dibromochloromethane and bromoform levels were below the technique's quantification limits in all storage times. THM formation depends on the chlorine concentration in the washing water and the storage time and temperature;fresh fish presented higher THM levels than frozen fish. © 2024, The Authors. Single-phased Li1.5Al0.5Ge1.5(PO4)3NaSICON (Na superionic conductor) glass-ceramic is obtained via a new route using flash-sinter crystallization . Green pellets of glass powder are sinter-crystallized in a few seconds. Our results suggest that controlling the current rise during the flash event is needed to avoid overheating that could cause the melting of the samples. A processing map for the flash sinter-crystallization of Li1.5Al0.5Ge1.5(PO4)3 is developed and presented based on the current density and holding time at the steady-state. The samples fabricated by flash sinter-crystallization are compared with conventionally heated ones. Using this novel technique, single-phase glass-ceramics were obtained with total ionic conductivity at room temperature surpassing those prepared by conventional heating (2.26 10-4S cm-1 and 1.36 10-4S cm-1, respectively). © 2022, The Authors. The authors regret the discrepancies and inaccuracies in the numbering and captions of several figures in the published article. This corrigendum aims to address and correct these issues. The misaligned numbers are first found in Figs. 3 to 6 to result in a mismatch with their descriptions in the text. Additionally, Fig. 7 is not shown in the final published version, although it was provided by the authors in the original manuscript accepted by the Chemical engineering Journal (Manuscript Number: CEJ-D-21-06678_R1). These errors were discovered during the evaluation of the paper for citation. The absence of Fig. 7 and the misalignment in Figs. 3, 4, 5, and 6 can significantly disrupt the logical flow of data presentation. In light of these issues, a meticulous correction process was undertaken to ensure the accurate presentation of our research findings. The corrections are detailed below, aimed at restoring the scientific rigor and coherence of the article. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused. [1] Corrigendum for the misaligned captions of Figs. 3, 4, 5, and 6". Due to a misalignment in figure captions in the published article, the caption for the deconvoluted XPS spectra in Fig. 3 was incorrectly replaced with that of Fig. 4. This caused a sequential shift in subsequent captions and the omission of Fig. 7 in the final version, as listed below in Table 1. [2] Adjustment of the related text To correct this sequential misalignment issue, the following corrections for the captions of Figs. 3, 4, 5, and 6 should be considered.
