This paper presents an evaluation of three types of boost converters-classic boost, symmetrical multilevel boost converter, and three-level boost converter in terms of voltage and current ripple as well as the load voltage transient overshoot. The three converters are designed and simulated under the same settings in order to obtain accurate results. A DC source powers the three converters with 61.82 V. During the design phase, the output voltage and current ripples are estimated to be 1% and 30% respectively. Funding proved that among the three converters symmetrical multilevel boost converter is the only converter that respects this criterion by giving an output voltage ripple less than 0.83% and a current ripple lower than 27.7%, while the three-level boost converter gives 59.13% for input current ripple and the classic boost gives more than 4% for the voltage ripples. Furthermore, the symmetrical multilevel boost converter reduces the load transient overshoot by more than 19% and 7% compared to the three-level boost converter and the classic boost loads transient overshoots respectively. In addition, the symmetrical multilevel boost converter provides continuous output voltage and current and reduces the ripples to 0.68% and 0.44% respectively. In conclusion, a symmetrical multilevel boost converter proves a correspondence between theoretical and simulation results. Furthermore, based on its features of reducing the current and voltage ripple as well as the load transient overshoot, it is concluded that a symmetrical multilevel boost converter is more suitable for renewable energy systems applications compared to a classic boost and three-level boost converter. © 2023 IEEE.

In this article, a 2 × 1 UWB-MIMO flower bouquet has been discussed using a low-cost FR-4-epoxy material for wireless communication systems. This antenna provides a wider bandwidth impedance of [3.42-14.64] GHz. The reflection coefficient of the proposed work achieves - 35.04 dB. For the aims of reducing mutual coupling, a CSRR was etched on the top and the bottom of the radiation element and the isolation achieves 44.58 dB at 11.63 GHz. Furthermore, theECC parameter is less than 0.002 and the diversity gain is close to 10 dB. Moreover, the TARC parameter is low of - 10dB throughout the operating bandwidth. Therefore, the proposed design is a good choice for wireless communication systems. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents the design of a dual-band microstrip patch antenna tailored for WLAN and WiMAX applications. The proposed compact antenna, featuring slits and slots, operates at three distinct frequencies: 3.45 GHz, 4.99 GHz, and 5.72 GHz. It achieves a return loss superior to -20dB at each of these frequencies, covering the lower band (3.38-3.54 GHz), and the upper band (4.76-6.38 GHz). The antenna exhibits bandwidths of 160 MHz, and 1620 MHz, for the respective bands, with VSWR values below 1.2, Constructed from FR4 material with a relative permittivity of 4.4 and a thickness of 1.6 mm, the antenna is fed using a microstrip feedline technique with a 50Ω impedance. The design and performance analyses are conducted using CST Microwave Studio software. © 2024 IEEE.

EMI conducted noise is becoming increasingly important in power conversion systems, and various analysis methods are being researched. The proposed method enables accurate EMI conducted noise analysis by extracting partial element equivalent circuits from the 3D structure of power cables and PCBs, and the extracted model can be interpreted in SPICE simulations. The implemented inverter operation mode of Totem-Pole bridge-less PFC in the EMI conducted noise analysis simulation model shows a good correlation between simulation results and experimental results in all CE bands. Furthermore, this method identifies the main causes of EMI noise through CM (Common Mode) and DM (Differential Mode) noise analysis, and proposes a method to effectively attenuate EMI noise through CM coil modeling. Therefore, the EMI conduction noise analysis method using simulation models allows for efficient prediction of EMI conduction noise in advance. The parallel operation of three-phase inverters for motor drive has become an effective way to achieve modularity. However, in the parallel inverter system for motor, the circulating current is generated through a common dc link, which can be caused more by low output inductance. This current causes stress on the switches, degrades the current control performance, and increases the difficulty in controlling load distribution in parallel operation. In this study, an optimal vector finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) method is proposed to improve the current control performance through circulating current model of each phase current in the parallel inverter system.

Gallium nitride high electron mobility transistors (GaN HEMTs) have an advantage in high switching speed and high frequency applications. However, the protection circuit for GaN HEMTs requires a fast response time due to the low robustness of short-circuit condition of GaN HEMTs. In addition, the high switching speed of GaN HEMTs generates severe noise, which causes a false-triggering for the protection circuit. This article is focused on analyzing the effect of switching noise on the protection circuit and proposes the protection circuit for GaN HEMTs with fast response speed and strong noise immunity. The protection circuit has been verified by SPICE simulation. The simulation results show that the protection delay of protection circuit is within 101 ns with strong noise immunity at normal operation.

As LLC resonant converter applied to various fields in recent years are developed, research has continued on integrated transformer that can not only achieve high efficiency, high density, but also reduce cost. In this paper, an integrated transformer structure and theory based design method that can precisely adjust the leakage inductance without an additional device are proposed. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed structure, measurement results of high-frequency integrated transformer are presented.
