Due to the inherent non-stationarity and individual differences present in electroencephalogram (EEG) signals, developing a generalizable model that performs well on new subjects is challenging in EEG-based emotion recognition. Most existing domain adaptation (DA) methods typically mitigate these discrepancies by aligning the marginal distributions of domain feature representations. However, when there is a significant difference in the class-conditional distribution between domain features and labels, the domain-invariant features learned by aligning marginal distributions may have limited discriminative ability for unlabeled target instances or even prove counterproductive. To address this issue, we propose a Neighborhood Semantic Aware Learning-based Dynamic Graph Attention Convolution (NSAL-DGAT) approach that learns target semantic information by considering the inter-domain semantic topological structure, thereby improving classifier adaptation for target instances. Specifically, the proposed NSAL framework is designed to capitalize on the insight that after domain feature alignment, some target samples and their neighboring source samples exhibit similar semantics. By leveraging the neighborhood topological structure, we extract and incorporate semantic target features to train a more transferable classifier. Besides, we implement an entropy weighting mechanism to emphasize representative target semantic information, encouraging target instances to prioritize high-confidence individuals within the source neighborhood. We have conducted extensive experiments on the public SEED dataset and our collected the Hearing-Impaired EEG Dataset (HIED). The experimental results underscore the efficacy of our proposed NSAL-DGAT approach, showcasing state-of-the-art accuracy in subject-dependent as well as subject-independent scenarios. With the widespread use of industrial computed tomography (CT) in semiconductor manufacturing, the noise in tomographic images from low-power radiation sources has become an increasingly prominent issue, which severely impacts the detection and processing tasks. In this paper, a spatial-frequency image noise suppression model (SFNS) is proposed to suppress noise while maintaining structural details in the image. A hybrid loss with spatial-frequency dual-domain information is designed to resolve spatial-domain limitations in optimization through complex-discrepancy-based spherical region separation criterion. To address the coupled noise characteristics in low-power CT systems, a stochastic noise degradation training strategy is designed to dynamically emulate fluctuations in real noise environments, and the network architecture integrates checkerboard sampling with cascaded residual stacks to enhance detail perception and reduce computational overhead. Experimental results demonstrate that SFNS achieves PSNR 32.14dB and SSIM 0.8896. Both quantitative metrics and qualitative evaluations validate the effectiveness of the proposed method in balancing structural fidelity and noise suppression.

This paper considers the problem of globally stabilizing a chain of integrators with actuator saturation in finite time. The proposed method is adapted from an existing scheduled low gain approach by relaxing the range of the value of the low gain parameter. Due to the special structure of the considered system, the proposed feedback law not only results in finite-time stability but also is homogeneous in the whole state space. The homogeneity of the proposed feedback law allows its implementation through the discretization of a compact set of the state space and thus obviation from numerical difficulties in the existing scheduled low gain design. A numerical example is presented to validate our theoretical results and demonstrate that our approach achieves faster convergence than the existing methods.

Recently, a novel power flow model called weather dependent power flow (WDPF) has been proposed to incorporate conductor temperatures in power flow calculation. It is promising to adopt WDPF model in probabilistic analysis since it provides more accurate electrical and thermal states of a power system. However, calculation of the WDPF model is more computationally expensive than that of conventional power flow model, and hence repetitive calculation of the WDPF in probabilistic analysis is quite time-consuming. To overcome this challenge, a surrogate-model-based sequential algorithm is proposed for calculation of the WDPF model with high computational efficiency and good accuracy. Compared to the method that directly learns the whole WDPF model, the proposed method only learns the power flow sub-model whereas applies a linearization method to solve the thermal resistance sub-model. The construction of the proposed method considers the learning difficulty of the sub-model and the whole WDPF model, thus ensuring the high calculation accuracy. This study is the first to conduct a probabilistic power flow analysis based on the WDPF model. Numerical results in the IEEE 30-bus, 57-bus, and 118-bus systems demonstrate the importance of adopting the WDPF model in probabilistic analysis and the efficacy of the proposed method. © 2023, CC BY.

With the growing environmental concern, the demand for electric vehicle is increasing in India. However, the limited existing charging facilities slow down the rate of adoption in the market. Presently, the solar-based charging system is gaining popularity, due to its low greenhouse gas emission. In this study, a case study for different solar charging systems suited in Delhi is presented. The economic and environmental analysis of different solar-based EV charging systems utilized for charging three types of commercial EVs such as 2, 3, and 4-W is explained. The cost of energy required for 100 km drive is lower with vehicle integrating PV charging system;however, it can act as a supportive system for driving range improvement. The analysis shows that the economically solar rooftop charging system is suitable for all types of EVs. The CO2 emission produced by all types of solar-based EV charging systems is lower than coal-based charging systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2021.

This paper considers the global finite time stabilization of linear systems subject to actuator saturation. We show that a controllable SISO system whose eigenvalues are real and negative can be globally stabilized in finite time by a homogeneous feedback law. To obviate numerical issues, this homogeneous feedback law is implemented by discretizing a compact set. Numerical simulation validates the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Optimizing various wireless user tasks poses a significant challenge for networking systems because of the expanding range of user requirements. Despite advancements in Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL), the need for customized optimization tasks for individual users complicates developing and applying numerous DRL models, leading to substantial computation resource and energy consumption and can lead to inconsistent outcomes. To address this issue, we propose a novel approach utilizing a Mixture of Experts (MoE) framework, augmented with Large Language Models (LLMs), to analyze user objectives and constraints effectively, select specialized DRL experts, and weigh each decision from the participating experts. Specifically, we develop a gate network to oversee the expert models, allowing a collective of experts to tackle a wide array of new tasks. Furthermore, we innovatively substitute the traditional gate network with an LLM, leveraging its advanced reasoning capabilities to manage expert model selection for joint decisions. Our proposed method reduces the need to train new DRL models for each unique optimization problem, decreasing energy consumption and AI model implementation costs. The LLMenabled MoE approach is validated through a general maze navigation task and a specific network service provider utility maximization task, demonstrating its effectiveness and practical applicability in optimizing complex networking systems.

Ensuring end-to-end cross-layer communication security in military networks by selecting covert schemes between nodes is a key solution for military communication security. With the development of communication technology, covert communication has expanded from the physical layer to the network and application layers, utilizing methods such as artificial noise, private networks, and semantic coding to transmit secret messages. However, as adversaries continuously eavesdrop on specific communication channels, the accumulation of sufficient data may reveal underlying patterns that influence concealment, and establishing a cross-layer covert communication mechanism emerges as an effective strategy to mitigate these regulatory challenges. In this article, we first survey the communication security solution based on covert communication, specifically targeting three typical scenarios: device-to-device, private network communication, and public network communication, and analyze their application scopes. Furthermore, we propose an end-to-end cross-layer covert communication scheme driven by Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), highlighting challenges and their solutions. In this paper, we discuss a class of two-stage hierarchical games with multiple leaders and followers, which is called Nash-Stackelberg-Nash (N-S-N) games. Particularly, we consider N-S-N games under decision-dependent uncertainties (DDUs). DDUs refer to the uncertainties that are affected by the strategies of decision-makers and have been rarely addressed in game equilibrium analysis. In this paper, we first formulate the N-S-N games with DDUs of complete ignorance, where the interactions between the players and DDUs are characterized by uncertainty sets that depend parametrically on the players’ strategies. Then, a rigorous definition for the equilibrium of the game is established by consolidating generalized Nash equilibrium and Pareto-Nash equilibrium. Afterward, we prove the existence of the equilibrium of N-S-N games under DDUs by applying Kakutani’s fixed-point theorem. Finally, an illustrative example is provided to show the impact of DDUs on the equilibrium of N-S-N games. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper considers the problem of monitoring and adaptively estimating an environmental field, such as temperature or salinity, using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). The AUV moves in the field and persistently measures environmental scalars and its position in its local coordinate frame. The environmental scalars are approximately linearly distributed over the region of interest, and an adaptive estimator is designed to estimate the gradient. By orthogonal decomposition of the velocity of the AUV, a linear time-varying system is equivalently constructed, and the sufficient conditions on the motion of the AUV are established, under which the global exponential stability of the estimation error system is rigorously proved. Furthermore, an estimate of the exponential convergence rate is given, and a reference trajectory that maximizes the estimate of the convergence rate is obtained for the AUV to track. Numerical examples verify the stability and efficiency of the system.
