The two control objectives of voltage regulation and precise current sharing are conflicting in multi-bus DC microgrids. In this paper, a distributed control strategy is proposed, and it can achieve accurate current sharing and regulate the voltage of a critical node to the rated value. However, such a distributed control system is susceptible to potential cyber attacks that could deteriorate microgrids performances by corrupting communication links or actuators. To overcome these difficulties, we design the interconnected communication networks to establish a resilient cooperative system of multiple microgrids against unknown bounded injection attacks. The proposed resilient control strategy can achieve the control objectives of maintaining voltage regulation and current sharing within each microgrids under different operating conditions, and the interconnected system consisting of multiple microgrids cooperates to mitigate the adverse effect of cyber attacks. The dynamics and stability of the overall close-loop system of the DC microgrids are analyzed, in the present or absent of cyber attacks. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in two 4-bus DC microgrids. © 2023 IEEE.

The current pulses characteristics of the negative corona discharge in SF_(6)/CF_(4)mixtures

In this paper,we present a novel adaptive performance control approach for strict-feedback nonparametric systems with unknown time-varying control coefficients,which mainly includes the following ***,by introducing several key transformation functions and selecting the initial value of the time-varying scaling function,the symmetric prescribed performance with global and semi-global properties can be handled uniformly,without the need for control ***,to handle the problem of unknown time-varying control coefficient with an unknown sign,we propose an enhanced Nussbaum function(ENF)bearing some unique properties and characteristics,with which the complex stability analysis based on specific Nussbaum functions as commonly used is no longer ***,by utilizing the core-function information technique,the nonparametric uncertainties in the system are gracefully handled so that no approximator is ***,simulation results verify the effectiveness and benefits of the approach.

Large-scale battery energy storage systems have the advantages of rapid response speed and high regulation precision. Their widespread application contributes to the stable operation of power grids. Nowadays, the design of an optimal power distribution strategy for the storage units that maximizes the benefits of energy storage stations is a hot spot of research. This paper presents a comprehensive power distribution model, which is suitable for energy storage stations. The model incorporates multiple objective factors such as the output power, the depth of discharge (DOD), and the uniformity of the State of Charge (SOC). One of the advantages of the designed model is its capability to optimize the longevity of the energy storage systems by managing the SOC convergence effectively and minimizing life loss through judicious power allocation. This approach improves the reliability and efficiency of energy storage system operations. Additionally, the model integrates temperature regulation costs, further enhancing its applicability and relevance to practical scenarios. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

The dynamic reconfigurable battery system (DRBS) is very promising because it can overcome the "barrel effect" of conventional battery storage by flexibly connecting battery modules through process control. However, there is still a lack of research on the cooperation between DRBS and the power conversion system (PCS). In this paper, a reconfiguration strategy is designed based on a matrix dynamic reconfigurable battery network, considering SOC balancing and PCS output power demand. A droop control strategy is adopted to control the corresponding PCS. Finally, a converter droop control model based on a DRBS with the proposed control algorithm is built and its accuracy and effectiveness are carefully verified by detailed simulation results in MATLAB/Simulink. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

OblivTime: Oblivious and Efficient Interval Skyline Query Processing Over Encrypted Time-Series Data

Time-series data is prevalent in many applications like smart homes, smart grids, and healthcare. And it is now increasingly common to store and query time-series data in the cloud. Despite the benefits, data privacy concerns in such outsourced services are pressing, making it imperative to embed privacy assurance mechanisms from the outset. Most existing related works have been focused on querying for different types of aggregate statistics. In this paper, we instead focus on the secure support for advanced interval skyline queries, which allow to identify time series that are not dominated by any other time series within a query time interval. This is valuable for time-series data analytics in applications like remote health monitoring (e.g., identifying patients with high heart rates in a certain week). We present OblivTime, a new system framework for oblivious and efficient interval skyline query processing over encrypted time-series data. OblivTime is built from a synergy of time-series data analytics, lightweight cryptography, and GPU parallel computing, achieving stronger security guarantees and lower online query latency over the state-of-the-art prior work. Extensive experiments demonstrate that OblivTime can achieve up to 666\times speedup in online query latency over the state-of-the-art prior work. © 2008-2012 IEEE.

Compression behavior of nanoparticle powder is still unclear, while it could largely affect its applications in additive manufacturing. Considering the fractal structure of aggregates in nanoparticle powder, from the van der Waal's state equation, the relation between porosity and compression pressure of nanoparticle powder was modeled theoretically, i.e. (P + c)(φ-a)=(1-a)c, here P is pressure, φ is porosity, a and c are parameters defined in main text. The model could capture the compression behavior of nanoparticle powders well. Under the same compression pressure, smaller nanoparticles will lead to larger porosity and thus lower thermal conductivity of nanoparticle packed beds, due to the easier aggregate of smaller nanoparticles. The compression behavior and the thermal conductivity of nanoparticle powders or packed beds are expected to supply information for powder spreading and sintering treatment respectively in additive manufacturing. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

This paper proposes a multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) based algorithm for charging control of multiple electric vehicles (EVs) in an electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) with dynamic operations. By taking the uncertainties of EV users’ behaviors and charging prices into consideration, a Markov game with multiple objectives is first established, where the individual objective of reducing EV charging costs and the collective objective of mitigating charging load fluctuations are both studied. Then, a multi-agent actor-double-critic (MAADC) algorithm with a unified advantage actor-critic framework is proposed, where two advantage functions are designed as the local and global critics, and the integrated actor is employed to balance the learning towards the individual and collective objectives. The simulation results obtained in a delicately built EVCS environment show the effectiveness of MAADC. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Accurate Distinction of Weak and Strong AC Grids for Emerging Hierarchical-Infeed LCC-UHVDC systems

Distinction of weak and strong AC grids for emerging hierarchical-infeed LCC-UHVDC systems is important for planning and operation departments. However, accuracy of earlier distinction methods is limited as they were developed by empirical reasoning without rigorous theoretical analysis. Hence in this letter, hierarchical-infeed interactive effective short-circuit ratio (HIESCR) index is first used for strength evaluation of HIDC systems with complex inter-inverter interactions considered. Boundary HIESCR (BHIESCR) is also introduced in the proposed distinction method of weak and strong AC grids. That is, weak (or strong) AC grids are, respectively, identified when HIESCR is less (or greater) than BHIESCR. Second, it is shown BHIESCR remains almost unchanged as 3.0 versus various system parameters and rated operation variables based on rigorous theoretical analysis. This salient feature makes the proposed method more accurate than earlier methods. Finally, the proposed method is validated by simulations based on the PSCAD/EMTDC program.
