The proliferation of behind-the-meter (BTM) distributed energy resources (DER) within the electrical distribution network presents significant supply and demand flexibilities, but also introduces operational challenges such as voltage spikes and reverse power flows. In response, this paper proposes a network-aware dynamic pricing framework tailored for energy-sharing coalitions that aggregate small, but ubiquitous, BTM DER downstream of a distribution system operator's (DSO) revenue meter that adopts a generic net energy metering (NEM) tariff. By formulating a Stackelberg game between the energy-sharing market leader and its prosumers, we show that the dynamic pricing policy induces the prosumers toward a network-safe operation and decentrally maximizes the energysharing social welfare. The dynamic pricing mechanism involves a combination of a locational ex-ante dynamic price and an ex-post allocation, both of which are functions of the energy sharing's BTM DER. The ex-post allocation is proportionate to the price differential between the DSO NEM price and the energy-sharing locational price. Simulation results using real DER data and the IEEE 13-bus test systems illustrate the dynamic nature of network-aware pricing at each bus, and its impact on voltage. © 2024 IEEE.

Within the electronic design automation(EDA) domain, artificial intelligence(AI)-driven solutions have emerged as formidable tools, yet they typically augment rather than redefine existing methodologies. These solutions often repurpose deep learning models from other domains, such as vision, text, and graph analytics, applying them to circuit design without tailoring to the unique complexities of electronic circuits. Such an “AI4EDA” approach falls short of achieving a holistic design synthesis and understanding,overlooking the intricate interplay of electrical, logical, and physical facets of circuit data. This study argues for a paradigm shift from AI4EDA towards AI-rooted EDA from the ground up, integrating AI at the core of the design process. Pivotal to this vision is the development of a multimodal circuit representation learning technique, poised to provide a comprehensive understanding by harmonizing and extracting insights from varied data sources, such as functional specifications, register-transfer level(RTL) designs, circuit netlists,and physical layouts. We champion the creation of large circuit models(LCMs) that are inherently multimodal, crafted to decode and express the rich semantics and structures of circuit data, thus fostering more resilient, efficient, and inventive design methodologies. Embracing this AI-rooted philosophy, we foresee a trajectory that transcends the current innovation plateau in EDA, igniting a profound “shift-left” in electronic design methodology. The envisioned advancements herald not just an evolution of existing EDA tools but a revolution, giving rise to novel instruments of design-tools that promise to radically enhance design productivity and inaugurate a new epoch where the optimization of circuit performance, power, and area(PPA) is achieved not incrementally, but through leaps that redefine the benchmarks of electronic systems' capabilities.

The temperature distribution of submarine cables is an important parameter reflecting its operation status. The acquisition of temperature distribution trends for submarine cables under varying seawater flow rates holds important engineering significance. In this paper, the geometric model is constructed using a 220 kV three-core AC armored submarine cable laid on the seabed. The simulation model of AC three-core submarine cable temperature field is proposed based on the coupling of electro-thermal-flow multi-physics field. Finally, the study investigates how the steady-state temperature distribution of submarine cables varies with different seawater flow velocities. The results show that the temperature is radially distributed at the seawater velocity of 0m/s, and the temperatures of different phase conductors are different by the relative position, which are 89.9 °C, 89.6 °C and 89.08 °C, respectively. As the seawater flow velocity increases, the heat taken away from the cable surface by convection increases. When the seawater flow velocity is 1 × 10−6m/s, 0.0001 m/s, 0.001 m/s, 0.001 m/s and 0.001 m/s, the maximum conductor temperatures are 69.5 °C, 44.6 °C, 38.5 °C, 33.6 °C and 32.7 °C, and the ampacity is 871.7 A, 1216 A, 1382.8 A, 1590.7 A and 1640.9 A, respectively. Renewablepower to ammonia (RePtA) is a prominent zero-carbon pathway for decarbonization. Due to the imbalance between renewables and production energy demand, the RePtA system relies on electricity exchange with the power grid. Participating in the electricity market as a virtual power plant (VPP) may help to reduce energy costs. However, the power profile of local photovoltaics and wind turbines is similar to those in the market, resulting in rising energy costs under the conventional strategy. Hence, we develop a multi-timescale trading strategy for the RePtA VPP in the electricity, hydrogen, and ammonia markets. By utilizing the hydrogen and ammonia buffer systems, the RePtA VPP can optimally coordinate production planning. Moreover, we find it possible to describe the trading of electricity, ammonia, and hydrogen in a unified timeframe. The two-stage robust optimization model of the electricity market is extended to multiple markets and solved by the column and constraint generation (CC&G) algorithm. The case is derived from an actual project in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Sensitivity analysis demonstrates the economic advantages of the RePtA VPP joining multiple markets over the conventional strategy and reveals the necessity of the hydrogen and ammonia buffer and reactor flexibility. © 2023 IEEE.

Conductors within a loaded electric machine commonly induce the highest loss. Numerous cooling solutions exist for high-power density electric machine conductors with external water jackets being the most common. The inherent disadvantage of water jacket cooling is the thermal resistance between the conductor and the cooling medium, which reduces the maximum cooling capacity, regardless of the jacket design. This restriction commonly leads designers to implement solutions such as end-turn cooling. The advances in additive manufacturing have unlocked new potential for conductor end-turn cooling. This paper investigates an additively-manufactured conductor with an integrated end-turn heat exchanger. The conductor is based around a Formula Student in-hub motor. This concept utilizes air-cooling and demonstrates a steady-state current density of 11 A/mm2 for a AlSi10Mg end-turn heat-exchanger conductor, without the added mass and complexity of liquid cooling solutions. If copper is used instead of AlSi10Mg, this value increases to approximately 22 A/mm2. © 2022 IEEE.

This study aims to analyze rapeseed oil’s effectiveness as a coolant of a high-voltage direct current(HVDC)converter transformer while comparing it with mineral *** employed a numerical model,assisted by Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD)tools,to simulate the convective heat transfer inside a HVDC converter transformer,which is an oil-directed air forced(ODAF)*** model seeks to obtain the temperature and velocity fields at the critical points of the fluid *** simulation domain reproduces a 2D cross-sectional model in the center of the *** results show that rapeseed oil requires more time to gain heat from the core and windings due to its lower thermal ***,the average temperature of rapeseed and mineral oils will not significantly differ once the channel temperature reaches a stable *** indicates that the rapeseed oil can effectively replace mineral oil under the same heating ***,a slower flow of the rapeseed oil allows the fluid to smoothly enter the cooling ***,the rapeseed oil cools these channels by pushing the fluid in them and absorbs heat from the sources earlier than mineral *** improvement in cooling indicates that rapeseed oil is better than mineral oil as a coolant and electrical insulating fluid for power transformers.

This work presents an adaptive tracking guidance method for robotic fishes. The scheme enables robots to suppress external interference and eliminate motion jitter. An adaptive integral surge line-of-sight guidance rule is designed to eliminate dynamics interference and sideslip issues. Limited-time yaw and surge speed observers are reported to fit disturbance variables in the model. The approximation values can compensate for the system's control input and improve the robots' tracking ***, this work develops a terminal sliding mode controller and third-order differential processor to determine the rotational torque and reduce the robots' run jitter. Then, Lyapunov's theory proves the uniform ultimate boundedness of the proposed method. Simulation and physical experiments confirm that the technology improves the tracking error convergence speed and stability of robotic fishes.
