The integrity of the vision channel is often checked using VEP in order to avoiding damaging important tissue during an ophthalmic operation. But the measurement of before operations has strong side effects, it may damage the eyeball. We will introduce a new kind for monitoring ophthalmic operations in this paper. It uses visual electrical evoked potential to check the integrity of the vision access and it can monitor ophthalmic operations and avoid damaging any tissue, so it ensures the safety of the operation.

EHG (electrohysterogram) is the recording of uterine electromyogram with external electrodes located on the abdomen of pregnant woman. Derived from the electrical activity generated at the muscle fiber lever, it provides complementary information from the muscle, and appears to be a very promising technique for clinical or physiologic investigation of uterine activity, compared with current monitoring which can't give us complementary phase information of uterine activity. In this article we have shown the disadvantages of the conventional electrodes for EHG data-acquisition system and put forward a new type of electrode that is called active Laplacian electrode. It integrates concentric rings electrode with a bioelectricity preamplifier and is capable of acquiring localized information. We can localise the EHG signals source more easily by using this new electrode.

In this paper, the laser moire interferometry method, the electron beam moire method, the atomic force microscope (AFM) scanning moire method, and the scanning electronic microscope (SEM) scanning moire method are used to measure the thermal deformation of electronic packages. The measurement principle and the adaptability of these methods are discussed and compared. 1200 lines/mm holographic gratings in ultra low expansion (ULE) mold plates were replicated on the cross section of the measured sections in a ball grid array (BGA) electronic package and a quad flat package (QFP). These holographic gratings were fabricated on ULE mold plates and were replicated on the measured area at 100/spl deg/C and 150/spl deg/C, respectively. The deformation measurement principles and experimental techniques using these moire methods are described. As an application, the deformation in the different solder joints in the BGA electronic package and in the area near the die corner of the QFP electronic package was measured using these methods. Some useful results were obtained.

A nanostructured FeCrMoVM50 type steel was prepared via a chemical route. The process involved the thermal decomposition of organometallic precursors Fe(CO) 5 , Cr(CO) 6 , Mo(CO) 6 and V(CO) 6 , at 150°C for the formation of nanostructured M50 type steel powders. In addition to the thermal decomposition of these carbonyls, the results of the reduction of respective metal halides for the production of the same steel are also presented. The nanostructured steel powders obtained were also consolidated samples, were characterized using x-ray synthesized powders, as well as the consolidated samples, were characterized using x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and high resolution electron microscopy (HRTEM). Possible mechanisms for the formation of nanostructured particles are also discussed.
