Rotary cement kiln is the main part of a cement plant that clinker is produced in it. Clinker is the main ingredient of cement. Continual and prolonged operation of rotary cement kiln is vital in cement factories. However, prolonged operation of the kiln is not possible and periodic repairs of the refractory lining would become necessary, due to non-linear phenomena existing in the kiln, such as sudden falls of coatings in the burning zone and probability of damages to the refractory materials during production. This is the basic reason behind the needs for a comprehensive model which is severely necessary for better control of this process. Such a model can be derived based on the mathematic analysis with consultation of expert operator experiences. In this paper both linear and nonlinear model are identified for rotary kiln of Saveh white cement factory. The linear model is introduced using Box-Jenkins structure. The results of the obtained model were satisfactory compared to some other linear models and can be used for designing adaptive or robust controllers. Also, nonlinear system identification via Neural Network technique is performed and its result was compared to linear models.

The measure J in J value segmentation (JSEG) fails to represent the discontinuity of color, which degrades the robustness and discrimination of JSEG. An improved approach for JSEG algorithm was proposed for unsupervised color-texture image segmentation. The texture and photometric invariant edge information were combined, which results in a discriminative measure for color-texture homogeneity. Based on the image whose pixel values are values of the new measure, region growing-merging algorithm used in JSEG was then employed to segment the image. Finally, experiments on a variety of real color images demonstrate performance improvement due to the proposed method.

computer systems anticipated in the 2015 – 2020 timeframe are referred to as Extreme Scale because they will be built using massive multi-core processors with 100's of cores per chip. The largest capability Extreme Scale system is expected to deliver Exascale performance of the order of 1018 operations per second. These systems pose new critical challenges for software in the areas of concurrency, energy efficiency and resiliency. In this paper, we discuss the implications of the concurrency and energy efficiency challenges on future software for Extreme Scale Systems. From an application viewpoint, the concurrency and energy challenges boil down to the ability to express and manage parallelism and locality by exploring a range of strong scaling and new-era weak scaling techniques. For expressing parallelism and locality, the key challenges are the ability to expose all of the intrinsic parallelism and locality in a programming model, while ensuring that this expression of parallelism and locality is portable across a range of systems. For managing parallelism and locality, the OS-related challenges include parallel scalability, spatial partitioning of OS and application functionality, direct hardware access for inter-processor communication, and asynchronous rather than interrupt-driven events, which are accompanied by runtime system challenges for scheduling, synchronization, memory management, communication, performance monitoring, and power management. We conclude by discussing the importance of software-hardware co-design in addressing the fundamental challenges for application enablement on Extreme Scale systems.

Scheduling is one of the most well-known problems in both modern service science and service operational management. On the basis of quantum swarm evolutionary method, a new technique, immune quantum swarm optimization (IQSO) approach is proposed by redefining the immune operators, vaccinating operator and immune selecting operator, which has a powerful global exploration capability and its applications with permutation flowshop scheduling. The experimental results obtained from the proposed method on some benchmark instances show that it is very promising, compared to genetic algorithms and swarm intelligence methods.

In this paper, we highlight the use of multimedia technology in generating intrinsic summaries of tourism related information. The system utilizes an automated process to gather, filter and classify information on various tourist spots on the Web. The end result present to the user is a personalized multimedia summary generated with respect to users queries filled with text, image, video and real-time news made retrievable for mobile devices. Preliminary experiments demonstrate the superiority of our presentation scheme to traditional methods.
