In order to solve the problem of image degradation caused by dust environments, an image degradation model considering multiple scattering factors caused by dust was first established using the first-order multiple scattering method. Then, a dark channel prior principle was applied to present an image restoration algorithm based on the image degradation model. Finally, GA optimization algorithm was applied to optimize the atmospheric light and the exposure parameters. This optimization algorithm was established according to the criterion of the image evaluation based on kirsch operator with automatic threshold. By using the method an optimistic result of image restoration was obtained. The experimental results have shown that the method not only enhanced luminance and contrast, but also discovered more detail edges information. The method provided a foundation for target recognition in the dust environments.

An Active Landing Recovery Method for Quadrotor UAV: Localization, Tracking and Buffering Landing

This paper proposes a principle of fully autonomous ground mobile landing recovery of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for the problems of relatively fixed landing point, passive recovery, poor flexibility, and environmental adaptability, which mainly includes localization, landing point tracking, and buffering landing for quadrotor UAV. Firstly, aiming at the problem that it is difficult to accurately obtain the position of a UAV in dynamic mobile landing recovery, a target location method based on Asynchronous Multisensor Information Fusion(AMIF) and servo turntable focus tracking is proposed. Secondly, to achieve fast and high-precision tracking of UAVs, a tracking control strategy of an independently driven landing recovery system and a Stewart six-degree of freedom platform is proposed. Then, to solve the problems of large impact force and center of gravity instability in the landing process of UAV, a stationarity control algorithm based on model prediction and a compliance control algorithm based on adaptive variable impedance are designed to achieve active compliance control while adjusting the position and attitude of the receiving surface in real-time. Finally, a quadrotor unmanned landing and recovery experimental platform is built to verify the feasibility of the ground mobile landing and recovery strategy proposed in this paper and the effectiveness of the control algorithm.

In Epilepsy EEG signal classification, the main time-frequency features can be extracted by using sparse representation with marching pursuit (MP) algorithm. However, the computational burden is so heavy that it is almost impossible to apply MP to real time signal processing. To reduce complexity of sparse representation, we propose to adopt harmony search method in searching the best atoms. Because harmony search method can find the best atoms in continuous time-frequency dictionary, the performance of epilepsy EEG signal classification is enhanced. The validity of this method is proved by experimental results.

Remote sensing object detection is an important research area in computer vision, widely applied in both military and civilian domains. However, challenges in remote sensing image object detection such as large image sizes, complex backgrounds, and significant variations in target scales are prevalent. To address these issues, this paper proposes a new Feature Denoising and Fusion Module (FDFM) aimed at enhancing the accuracy and robustness of object detection. This module comprises a Multi-Scale Denoising Submodule(MDS) and an Attention Optimization Submodule(AOS). The Multi-Scale Denoising Module aims to suppress lower-level texture noise by utilizing higher-level semantic features before the fusion process, reducing the impact of lower-level noise on subsequent multi-scale feature fusion. Meanwhile, the Attention Optimization Module seeks to enhance the precision of self-attention computations within the Multi-Scale Denoising Module without increasing the parameter count. The efficacy of this method was evaluated on public datasets DOTA, VisDrone, VOC and COCO, showing improvements in comparison to baseline models.

Watch Out for Your Agents! Investigating Backdoor Threats to LLM-Based Agents

Driven by the rapid development of Large Language Models (LLMs), LLM-based agents have been developed to handle various real-world applications, including finance, healthcare, and shopping, etc. It is crucial to ensure the reliability and security of LLM-based agents during applications. However, the safety issues of LLM-based agents are currently under-explored. In this work, we take the first step to investigate one of the typical safety threats, backdoor attack, to LLM-based agents. We first formulate a general framework of agent backdoor attacks, then we present a thorough analysis of different forms of agent backdoor attacks. Specifically, compared with traditional backdoor attacks on LLMs that are only able to manipulate the user inputs and model outputs, agent backdoor attacks exhibit more diverse and covert forms: (1) From the perspective of the final attacking outcomes, the agent backdoor attacker can not only choose to manipulate the final output distribution, but also introduce the malicious behavior in an intermediate reasoning step only, while keeping the final output correct. (2) Furthermore, the former category can be divided into two subcategories based on trigger locations, in which the backdoor trigger can either be hidden in the user query or appear in an intermediate observation returned by the external environment. We implement the above variations of agent backdoor attacks on two typical agent tasks including web shopping and tool utilization. Extensive experiments show that LLM-based agents suffer severely from backdoor attacks and such backdoor vulnerability cannot be easily mitigated by current textual backdoor defense algorithms. The van der Waerden number W(r, k) is the least integer N such that every r-coloring of {1,2, • • •, N} contains a monochromatic arithmetic progression of length at least k. Rabung gave a method to obtain lower bounds on W(2,k) based on quadratic residues, and performed computations on all primes no greater than 20117. By improving the efficiency of the algorithm of Rabung, we perform the computation for all primes up to 6 x 107, and obtain lower bounds on W(2, k) for k between 11 and 23.

We present a method for automatically selecting the best filter to treat poor quality printed documents using image quality assessment. We introduce five quality measures to obtain information about the quality of the images, and morphological filters to improve their quality. A training set of 370 images was used to develop the system. Experimental results on the test set show a significant improvement in the recognition rate from 73.24% using no filter at all to 93.09% after applying a filter that was automatically selected. © 2003 IEEE.

Isoforms refer to different mRNA molecules transcribed from the same gene, which can be translated into proteins with varying structures and functions. Predicting the functions of isoforms is an essential topic in bioinformatics as it can provide valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms of gene regulation and biological processes. Conventionally, gene function labels are standardized in Gene Ontology (GO) terms. However, traditional methods for predicting isoform function are largely limited by the absence of isoform-specific labels, sparse annotations, and the vast number of GO terms. To address these issues, we propose HANIso, a deep learning-based method for isoform function prediction. HANIso leverages a pretrained protein language model to extract features from protein sequences. It also integrates heterogeneous information, such as isoform sequence features, GO annotations, and isoform interaction data, using a Heterogeneous Graph Attention Network (HAN). This allows the model to learn the importance of different sources of information and their semantic relationships through the attention mechanism. Our method can predict function labels at both the gene level and isoform level. We conduct experiments on two species datasets, and the results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing methods on both AUROC and AUPRC. HANIso has the potential to overcome the limitations of traditional methods and provide a more accurate and comprehensive understanding of isoform function.

In this paper, the Harmony Search (HS)-aided BP neural networks are used for the classification of the epileptic electroencephalogram (EEG) signals. It is well known that the gradient descent-based learning method can result in local optima in the training of BP neural networks, which may significantly affect their approximation performances. Three HS methods, the original version and two new variations recently proposed by the authors of the present paper, are applied here to optimize the weights in the BP neural networks for the classification of the epileptic EEG signals. Simulations have demonstrated that the classification accuracy of the BP neural networks can be remarkably improved by the HS method-based training. © 2014 ACADEMY PUBLISHER.
