Brace: USN reported for active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserve in June 1945 and upon his release from active duty in 1948 entered Chaffey Junior College Ontario Calif. from which he received his Associate Degree in Engineering in June 1949. Subsequently he attended Purdue University from which he received his BS degree in Chemical Engineering in 1951 and while on a Westinghouse Research Fellowship his MS degree in Engineering in 1952. He joined Phillips Petroleum Co. in Oklahoma as a research engineer with the Jet Fuel Research Group upon receiving the latter degree and while so serving obtained 12 patents. In January 1955 he was recalled to active duty and reported to Officers Candidate School. Newport R.I. Upon being commissioned in the U.S. Naval Reserve in May of that year he began his flight training at the Naval Air Training Command ultimately being designated a Naval Aviator and augumented into the regular Navy in 1956. He served with four carrier-based attack squadrons including three combat tours and in 1962 completed a duty assignment with the U.S. Army in South Vietnam. Other assignments include Catapult and Arresting Gear Officer USS Enterprise (CVN-65) duty on the Staff. Commander Naval Air Force. U.S. Atlantic Fleet: Assistant Chief of Staff for Material Task Force 78 during the mine countermeasure operations in North Vietnam Officer-in-Charge. Fleet Air Western Pacific Repair Activity Cubi Point P.I.: and Head. Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipments Branch Ship Installations Division. Naval Air Systems Command from 1974 to 1976 during which he had full responsibility for all shore-based and shipboard aircraft launching and recovery systems and was Acquisition Manager for the SERD Catapult Program. Capt. Brace who was designated an Aeronautical Engineering Duty Officer in 1964. is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Test Pilot School the Naval War College and the Defense Systems Management School and his military decorations include the Meritorious Service Award the Air Me

作者: Grubb, MJ Skolnick, A Michael J. Grubb:has perfomzed naval engineering at the Crane Division Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) for more than twenty-five years. He currently the program manager for the Sustainable Hardware and Affordable Readiness Practice Program (SHARP). is a Navy-wide logistics research and development prgram aimed at the successful transiton of proved technologies inot the fleet. SHARP focuses on reducing acquisition performance capability reliability maintainability and readiness of these systems. Mr. Grubb has served as a department director for the past eleven years. His most recent assignment was as director of the Tactical Computer Resources and Test Equipment Department. This organization provided acquisition and in-service engineering support of the Navy's tectical embedded computers priphirals displays and mass memory storage devices. The organization also provided a complete range of product engineering and metrology engineerig services for SSP NevSeaSysCom and the Trident Program. Prior to this appointment Mr. Grubb was deptuy director psysical security programs department and site responsible for program management and system integration of ashore integrated security systems. Mr. Grubb holds a B.S. degree in industrial engineering from Iowa State Universtiy an M.S. degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and has copleted the course work (Dec.'96 for a master's degree in public and environment affairs at Indiana University-Purdue Univeristy Indianapolis. Dr. Alfred Skolnick operates System Science Consultants (SSC) specilizing in strategic planning technical program definiton technology assessment and engineering analyses on selected matters of national interest. He has taught physics mathematics and management sciences at University of Virginia and Marymount University and is currently adjunct professor of mathematics at Northern Virginia Community College. 作者: CORNETT, PC The authorat FMC Corporation Northern Ordnance Division (FMC/NOD) has the dual responsibility of Manager of Design Assurance and Project Manager of the new Vertical Load Gun Family (VLGF). He received his BSEE degree from Colorado State University in 1962 and his MSEE degree from the University of Minnesota in 1969. As the Design Assurance Manager at FMC/NOD he is responsible for the areas of: Product Evaluation Human Factors and System Studies Reliability Maintainability and Availability Engineering Standards and Controls and Engineering Test. As Project Manager for the VLGF he has full responsibility for all aspects of the new gun development program. From 1964 to 1979 Mr. Cornett was Senior Project Engineer at FMC/NOD. During this period he was responsible for the development design production and test of electronic control systems for several of the Gun Mounts and Guided Missile Launching Systems produced at FMC/NOD. From 1962 to 1964 he was with Sperry Utah Company as cognizant engineer for an electronic assembly in the Sergeant Missile Launcher. Mr. Cornett has applied for a patent for a velocimeter for measuring projectile muzzle velocity. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

作者: GLEANER, I ARTER, R Irving Gleaner:is a mechanical engineer with nearly 25 years experience. He is currently employed in the Packaging Programs Management Branch of the U.S. Naval Aviation Supply Office in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Since 1988 Mr. Gleaner has been actively involved in the design and development of reusable containers for naval avionic hardware ranging from circuit cards to complete aircraft engines. His work includes the performance of technical investigations material studies manufacturing process evaluations stress analysis calculations and analysis of dynamic shock loadings. Prior to working in the Packaging Branch Mr. Gleaner performed refurbishment feasibility studies of critical aircraft hardware in the Product Engineering Group. Mr. Gleaner's previous background was in the electrical power generation industry. where he designed pressure vessels and storage tanks in support of nuclear power generating stations. Richard Arter:is a packaging specialist with nine years experience. He is employed at the U.S. Naval Aviation Supply Office Packaging Programs Management Branch where he is the current leader of the Container Design Team. Since 1983 Mr. Arter has been active in the development of packaging handling storage and transportation (PHS&T) requirements for naval aviation hardware and support equipment. His work includes logistics planning program management of container development projects preparation of performance specifications and development and improvement of packaging and preservation capabilities at various naval activities.
