Development of information systems in integrated management systems in order to increase organisational performance in a construction company

There are various information systems to improve organisational performance that are well-established in construction companies. However, information systems, especially in integrated management system, are not yet well-established to describe productivity of the worker in order to improve organisational performance. There is still needed development in the procedure and manual in this information system. These are developed by an integrated management system clause (high level structure). These procedure and manuals will reduce rework, accident, sickness and waste as part of an integrated management system in a construction company. Information systems are needed as a component of communication, sharing and exchanging information in an integrated management system in construction companies. This information system is used for the efficient implementation of integrated management system resources. An integrated management system is required to make the system more effective and efficient in supporting the company's business processes. The efficiency can be done by looking for any variables in an integrated management system that can increase organisational performance in a construction company through integrated information systems. This research's variables are based on previous research. Methodology used in this paper is literature review to describe database and model base in information systems. The result of this paper is a database and model base algorithm.

The city and its behavior in the transfer of heat, generates lines of research that study phenomena such as the Island of Urban Heat (ICU); Within its formation factors, the heat expelled by the vehicle is the least analyzed in the literature. Thanks to the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software and its validation with measurements in the field, data is acquired to examine the thermal behavior in an urban canyon based on the number of cars passing through it and the heat expelled by its engines, the speed of the wind and orientation. The results show that the temperature increases between 26% to 10% more, and the highest values are in the simulated cases with a north-south orientation, affecting the passer-by as to the energy efficiency of the buildings.

This document describes the procedure to calculate the LST (Land Surface Temperature). The series of steps and equations is described using the thermal bands offered by the LandSat 8 satellite and the ArcGIS program tools. Although there are other methods and tools this procedure explicitly breaks down the use of information.

Compression strength testing model on clay soil stabilization using variations of cement composition

The title of this study is 'Compression Strength Testing Model on Clay Soil Stabilization Using Variations of Cement Composition'. The focus of this test is the addition of different compositions of cement and clay. Composition of this test is 100% soil + 0% cement, 70% soil + 30% cement, 50% soil + 50% cement and 30% soil + 70% cement. The next stage of drying is done for 0 days, 5 days, 10 days, 15 days and 20 days. The test is performed by unconfined compression test machine for each sample dried within the time specified above. The cement used is Portland composite cement type (Portlant Cement Composite / PCC). The conclusion is obtained from the results of tests that have been done that the soil composition of 100% + 0% cement land indicates if the longer drained the value of the compressive strength will decrease. However, in the other composition 70% of soil + 30% cement, 50% soil + 50% cement and 30% soil + 70% cement show that the longer drying is done for each composition the relationship between strain and stress shows an increase along with the duration of drying done. However, if analyzed for the largest compressive strength value of this test was found in the 50% + 50% cement sample showing the largest compressive strength (qu) compared with the other samples.

Large Deformation Studies on Combined Shell Structures

The combinations of shell structure give discontinuity to their load path and hence play major role in load deformation behaviour of shell structures. In this paper thin metal shells are studied for combination of shell geometries for large deformation. The study is conducted on four categories of shell structures which are the combination of simple cylinder, frusta and half sphere. The large deformation was obtained by axially compressing these geometrical shells between two flat plates. The geometrical shell behaviour to large deformation was understood with load displacement graph for different geometrical changes. The associated change in mode of deformation is presented and discussed.

Construction project inevitably consumes resources and generates large amounts of waste, hence the efforts to achieve sustainable construction are required. The integration of multiple management systems, information flow analysis, and optimization of operational processes will reinforce sustainable knowledge (science of sustainability). The absence of the management of consumption of resources and construction waste can be a serious problem for the environment, on the contrary management can generate profits. One of the keys to success in realizing sustainable construction is through the integrated management systems. Integrated management system potentially reduces the construction waste due to construction failure. Previous studies have discussed the suitable management model for sustainable development. Most of these studies are interpreted in the form of regression equations and multivariate form. However, only few discuss about the implementation of integrated management system in achieving sustainable construction. Therefore, this research used structural equation method to reveal the most suitable integrated management system related to sustainable construction.

Southeast (SE) Asia is a highly biodiverse region, yet it is also estimated to cumulatively contribute a third of the total global marine plastic pollution. This threat is known to have adverse impacts on marine megafauna, however, understanding of its impacts has recently been highlighted as a priority for research in the region. To address this knowledge gap, a structured literature review was conducted for species of cartilaginous fishes, marine mammals, marine reptiles, and seabirds present in SE Asia, collating cases on a global scale to allow for comparison, coupled with a regional expert elicitation to gather additional published and grey literature cases which would have been omitted during the structured literature review. Of the 380 marine megafauna species present in SE Asia, but also studied elsewhere, we found that 9.1 % and 4.5 % of all publications documenting plastic entanglement (n = 55) and ingestion (n = 291) were conducted in SE Asian countries. At the species level, published cases of entanglement from SE Asian countries were available for 10 % or less of species within each taxonomic group. Additionally, published ingestion cases were available primarily for marine mammals and were lacking entirely for seabirds in the region. The regional expert elicitation led to entanglement and ingestion cases from SE Asian countries being documented in 10 and 15 additional species respectively, highlighting the utility of a broader approach to data synthesis. While the scale of the plastic pollution in SE Asia is of particular concern for marine ecosystems, knowledge of its interactions and impacts on marine megafauna lags behind other areas of the world, even after the inclusion of a regional expert elicitation. Additional funding to help collate baseline data are critically needed to inform policy and solutions towards limiting the interactions of marine megafauna and plastic pollution in SE Asia. © 2023 The Authors

This study utilizes consolidation investment theory to incorporate with business strategies and government subsidy to develop a strategic exercise of options model. This empirical investigation examines the ground source heat pump (GSHP) government subsidy program, which is part of China’s 12th Five Year Plan. The developed model is applied to explain the behaviours of business investment with regard to strategic investment timing, option values, and the influence of government subsidies in duopolistic real-world investment decisions. The results indicate that subsidy policy can reduce the differences of investment timing among GSHP investors and has clearly evidenced the positive benefit–cost ratio of government subsidy, which facilitates China’s GSHP industry development.
