Sentiment analysis, which aims to extract information from textual data indicating people's ideas or attitudes about a particular problem, has developed into one of the most exciting study issues in natural language processing (NLP) with the development of social media. Twitter is a social network with an extensive audience that expresses their thoughts and opinions clearly and readily. Due to the prevalence of slang phrases and incorrect spellings in short phrase styles, Twitter data analysis is more challenging than data analysis from other social networks. Automated feature selection still has several limitations, such as higher computing costs that rise with the number of characteristics. Deep learning, which is self-learned and more accurate at processing vast amounts of data, is utilized to overcome these challenges. This paper introduces a conditional generative adversarial network (GAN) for Twitter sentiment analysis, whereas a convolutional neural network (CNN) has been used to extract traits from Twitter data. Compared to existing works, the proposed work has outperformed in accuracy, recall, precision, and F1 score. The suggested method is the most accurate, with a classification accuracy of 93.33 %. © 2024

Recently,Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces(RISs)have been introduced to provide the necessary flexibility for the design of the Smart Radio Environment(SRE),which can be optimally shaped to facilitate efficient signal *** line with the concept of smart cities,SRE needs to be carefully designed with respect to the city infrastructure and utilization of *** this paper,we provide our vision on RIS integration into future Smart Cities by highlighting the potential technical,environmental,and economic motivations of RIS deployment in harmony with various ecosystems at a city level such as buildings *** this end,we are pointing out some scenarios for mitigating the conflict between RIS realization and the existing building facade’s ecosystems such as advertising display and solar cells on building ***,in this fashion,the proposed vision supports a win-win relationship between all stakeholders of different *** study presents guidelines for not only enabling seamless economically accepted RIS widespread utilization but,also more technically sounding SRE by supporting enhanced RIS features and more advanced applications that cannot be attained by traditional passive ***,based on the current research directions,we offer promising insights for cost-effective mass pro-duction through motivating two scenarios of“all on silicon”and“all as metasurface”fabrication *** this study,we aim to encourage the metasurface researchers,that for a broad deployment of the technical solution,economic,environmental,and other commercial requirements should be planned together,early on in the design phase.

In Karachi, the transport and building industries have a major impact on carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions and greenhouse gas emissions. This study is innovative in that it examines how air temperature changes over time and forecasts the maximum and minimum temperatures in Karachi. Specifically, it looks at 60 years' worth of mean monthly maximum and minimum air temperatures in Karachi, spanning from (1961 to 2020) dataset classes. The monthly average air temperature in Karachi, both at its minimum and maximum, remains constant. Using dataset from the Pakistan Metrological department (PMD) and, the ARMA (p, q) model technique was used to assess forecasting and modelling the behavior of the maximum and minimum air temperatures in Karachi. The least values Akaike information criterion (AIC), the Bayesian Schwarz information criterion (SIC), and the Hannan Quinn information criterion (HIC) are used to describe how adequate the model is. Additionally, the Durbin-Watson (DW) test is used. The average monthly maximum and minimum air temperature in Karachi are strongly correlated, as indicated by DWvalues (<2). The lowest and maximum monthly average air temperatures in Karachi are predicted using diagnostic checking techniques such as Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), and Theil's U-Statistics. The results indicate that there is a strong correlation between the air temperature and previously measured values, with Theil's U-Statistics values for each month lying close to zero. This study is a great resource for observing how air temperature affects global warming. This study also highlights the the innovative aspect of utilizing vast datasets, possibly including those from mobile and multimedia sources, to address a critical environmental issue. It also emphasizes the predictive modelling aspect of your study, which is central to understanding and mitigating global warming effects. © 2025 River Publisher

A novel random finite element model for holistically modeling of the frost effects on soils and cold region pavements

This paper describes the development of a random finite element model (RFEM) that allows holistic simulation of frozen soil behaviors, including the effects of phase transition and the consequent internal stress and volume changes. The performance of the model is firstly validated with laboratory experiments. The model is implemented to simulate the effects of frost action on pavement. The coupled thermal-mechanical actions including the mechanical responses of subgrade soils subjected to freezing temperature and its effects on the pavement structure are analyzed. The results show that the frost action and expansion of ice lenses change the interaction modes between pavement layers. This leads to increase of stress and deformation in the pavement layer. Methods to mitigate the effects of frost heave are analyzed with this model. The simulation results indicate that the detrimental effects of frost heave on the pavement structure can be mitigated by increasing the thickness of base layer, use of thermal insulation layer or improve drainage in the subgrade layer. The RFEM combines the advantages of discrete element model (DEM) in holistically describing the microstructure effects and in the finite element model (FEM) in terms of computational efficiency. This allows to focus research on understanding the behaviors of individual soils phase and their interfacial interactions. © The Author(s) 2022.

The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has significantly increased during the past few years. UAVs have a wide range of applications, but their employment in the defense sector has grown significantly in recent years as a result of their exceptional effectiveness in reducing casualties and enabling the accomplishment of high-profile as well as time-sensitive operations. UAVs are helpful for numerous defense-related operations, such as border patrol, surveillance, emergency management, damage assessment, delivery of medical supplies and armaments, and many others. However, because wireless communication is open, UAVs can be used to undermine the effectiveness of military operations. In this paper, we developed a blockchain-based framework to mitigate security threats from UAVs operating in a combat scenario. The MATLAB virtual environment is used to simulate a battlefield scenario, including UAVs, sensors, enemies, and friendly nodes. The UAV scenario also includes an enemy that continuously manipulates the UAVs to endanger battlefield operations. The suggested framework employs machine learning algorithms to find malicious UAVs. Further, the proposed framework uses blockchain technology to increase security and lessen data tampering attempts. A smart contract (for data validation) is deployed on an IPFS-based public blockchain. In addition, 5G technology is used, which makes it possible for UAVs and the control station to communicate effectively with lower packet error rates and latency. The proposed framework is evaluated by considering evaluation metrics, such as 5G packet error rate, latency, and transaction and execution costs for the blockchain. © 2023 IEEE.

This study proposes a cross-domain multi-objective speech assessment model, called MOSA-Net, which can simultaneously estimate the speech quality, intelligibility, and distortion assessment scores of an input speech signal. MOSA-Net comprises a convolutional neural network and bidirectional long short-Term memory architecture for representation extraction, and a multiplicative attention layer and a fully connected layer for each assessment metric prediction. Additionally, cross-domain features (spectral and time-domain features) and latent representations from self-supervised learned (SSL) models are used as inputs to combine rich acoustic information to obtain more accurate assessments. Experimental results show that in both seen and unseen noise environments, MOSA-Net can improve the linear correlation coefficient (LCC) scores in perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ) prediction, compared to Quality-Net, an existing single-Task model for PESQ prediction, and improve LCC scores in short-Time objective intelligibility (STOI) prediction, compared to STOI-Net, an existing single-Task model for STOI prediction. Moreover, MOSA-Net can be used as a pre-Trained model to be effectively adapted to an assessment model for predicting subjective quality and intelligibility scores with a limited amount of training data. Experimental results show that MOSA-Net can improve LCC scores in mean opinion score (MOS) predictions, compared to MOS-SSL, a strong single-Task model for MOS prediction. We further adopt the latent representations of MOSA-Net to guide the speech enhancement (SE) process and derive a quality-intelligibility (QI)-Aware SE (QIA-SE) approach. Experimental results show that QIA-SE outperforms the baseline SE system with improved PESQ scores in both seen and unseen noise environments over a baseline SE model. © 2014 IEEE.

Herein,a two-node beam element enriched based on the Lagrange and Hermite interpolation function is proposed to solve the governing equation of a functionally graded porous(FGP)curved nanobeam on an elastic foundation in a hygro–thermo–magnetic *** material properties of curved nanobeams change continuously along the thickness via a power-law distribution,and the porosity distributions are described by an uneven porosity *** effects of magnetic fields,temperature,and moisture on the curved nanobeam are assumed to result in axial loads and not affect the mechanical properties of the *** equilibrium equations of the curved nanobeam are derived using Hamilton’s principle based on various beam theories,including the classical theory,first-order shear deformation theory,and higher-order shear deformation theory,and the nonlocal elasticity *** accuracy of the proposed method is verified by comparing the results obtained with those of previous reliable ***,the effects of different parameters on the free vibration behavior of the FGP curved nanobeams are investigated comprehensively.

Most educational laboratory equipment utilized in vibrations and control labs is heavy and bulky, limiting its use within lab spaces. Further, mechanical engineering students typically gain hands-on experience only in labs that are offered separately from fundamental courses, unlike other engineering programs. Thus, the extent of student learning from labs, given their limited time, remains a concern considering students’ learning opportunities. This study presents the design and development of two portable and low-cost lab equipment devices: a compliant mechanism with unbalanced rotating masses and a DC motor with beam control under disturbances. While the former is utilized to demonstrate fundamentals of vibrations, derivation of the mathematical model, simulation, and comparison of theory and experimental data, the latter can be used for demonstration of disturbance control. Virtual labs are developed for both mechanisms in MATLAB Simscape.
