Failure bitmaps of manufactured memory arrays may contain the information of some systematic defects and have hence been used to monitor the process and to improve the memory yield. It is important to have an accurate flow to classify the memory failure bitmap signatures. The memory bitmap signature classification can be either dictionary based or machine learning based. This paper introduces a hybrid flow that can combine dictionary based and machine learning based methods. The proposed method can enhance the accuracy of signature classification, and more importantly, it has the capability of learning new memory bitmap signatures unseen before.

This paper presents a possibility that we can teach what emotions a robot should express. For this, we design an artificial emotion decision system learned by feedbacks of users. The proposed system consists of three parts: a personality space with probability model, an emotion decision process, and an emotion learning process. 1) The personality space is designed based on the Five-Factor Model. In the personality space, we set up probability distributions of emotions. 2) The emotion decision process determines the probability values of emotions using the probability distributions of emotions in the personality space. 3) The emotion learning process updates the probability distributions by the feedbacks that are the teaching information from users;then, different probability values of emotions are determined. By applying to a humanoid robot system, we have verified the validity of the proposed system by being learned from two persons who have different personalities.

Finding mean of matrices becomes increasingly important in modern signal processing problems that involve matrix-valued images. In this paper, we define the mean for a set of symmetric positive definite (SPD) matrices based on information-theoretic divergences as the unique minimizer of the averaged divergences, and compare it with the means computed using the Rieman-nian and Log-Euclidean metrics. For the class of divergences induced by the convexity gap of a matrix functional, we present a fast iterative concave-convex optimization scheme with guaranteed convergence to efficiently approximate those divergence-based means.

We present a sketch-based rotation editing mations. Given a set of keyframe orientations of a rigid system for enriching rotational motion in keyframe ani- object, the user first edits its angular velocity trajectory by sketching curves, and then the system computes the altered rotational motion by solving a variational curve fitting problem. The solved rotational motion not only satisfies the orientation constraints at the keyframes, but also fits well the user-specified angular velocity trajectory. Our system is simple and easy to use. We demonstrate its usefulness by adding interesting and realistic rotational details to several keyframe animations.

This article provides insights into consumer behavior, and the results have important implications for designers, managers, marketers, and system providers of 3G value-added services to explore a conceptual model for analyzing customers’ perceptions of using 3G value-added services. An empirical investigation was carried out to test the hypotheses. The samples include 826 professional participants. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to test the relationships of the model. After reviewing the previous research papers, a conceptual model of customer adoption is developed and nine important factors are proposed, namely, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived security, perceived price, use experience, perceived enjoyment, need for uniqueness, social influence, context and compatibility. Then a big sample of questionnaire investigation in Chinese 3G value-added service market is conducted. The empirical findings are as follows: (a) security and social influence are two of the most important factors in 3G market; (b) 3G value-added services must be enjoyable and useful; (c) using context should be friendly and compatible. The results not only help to develop a sophisticated understanding of 3G adoption theories for researchers but also offer useful knowledge to those involved in promoting 3G value-added services to potential purchasers.

e-Governance initiatives are similar across the world, but in India it will be more complex than in the developed countries due to the multi-tire administrative structure, diversity of culture, and different process management methods in various government departments. Globally most of the Governments are taking efforts for their interoperable e-Government system to provide one stop service to its stakeholders. The solution is e-government interoperability among the administrative structure of a country. One of the ways to get the interoperability in e-Governance systems is to uphold an Enterprise Architecture paradigm across the country. Many of the global tigers have successfully used enterprise architecture frameworks for their e-Govt interoperability. Government of India (GOI) has taken several initiatives to leverage e-Governance in the country with high importance given to citizen-centric service delivery and step forward with various triumphs in the e-Govt interoperability arena. This paper analyzed the need and possibility of Enterprise Architecture concept in the Indian context to achieve the e-Govt interoperability for integration of e-Governance services and we proposed a framework for this dilemma. Visual Analytics is successfully employed for an integrated data analysis by means of combining visual and analytical methods. The starting point for current Visual Analytics tools and workows is usually the readily available data set. Rarely though, Visual Analytics goes beyond the data set and also incorporates the data generating processes that have led to the data in the first place into the analysis. And indeed, in many use case scenarios, this is hardly possible, as these processes cannot be captured as data to be analyzed themselves. Yet for the applications, in which this is feasible, new opportunities and challenges open up. In this paper, we illustrate these opportunities and challenges by our efforts to bring together Visual Analytics and stochastic simulation for cell biological applications. The integration of both is possible, as the data generating process runs in silico and can thus be captured and analyzed alongside the mere simulation result. For this, we present solutions and tools, which permit Visual Analytics on all stages of this particular data generating process - on the stages of the model, the experiment, the simulation runs, and a combination of all three.
