In recent years, mesh networking has emerged as a key technology for the last mile Internet access and found to be an important area of research. The current draft standard of IEEE 802.11s has defined routing for Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) in layer-2 and is termed as Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol (HWMP). However, security in routing or forwarding functionality is not specified in the standard. The protocol does not provide authentication and integrity of routing messages which makes it vulnerable to many attacks. As a consequence, the routing protocol in its current form is vulnerable to various types of routing attacks. In this paper, we propose modified HWMP routing protocol for WMN which uses cryptographic extensions to protect unprotected routing information elements. We will show that the proposed protocol successfully prevents all the identified attacks.

We organize issues into ones related to the environment, capturing, augmentation, display, and individual user differences. We also illuminate issues associated with more recent platforms such as handhelds or projector-camera systems. The article considers different uses of photography in Mbouda, a small town in western Cameroon. The photographs taken by Jacques Tousselle have been archived under the auspices of a project funded by the British Library Endangered Archive Programme. Having a complete set of surviving negatives and prints enables us to gain a good idea of the range of images commissioned. We are using face recognition software to try and identify multiple images of individuals throughout the archive. Some additional work has been undertaken on the uses made of the prints by the clients. Examples are provided of different styles of display including one case in which captions have been added to prints on display on a living room wall, so the house and its photographs are a local archive. Image registration is of great significance to medicine and remote sensing, so a lot of techniques have been developed within the context of one or the other discipline. This paper proposes an approach for medical image registration using Modified Gabor Wavelet Transform (MGWT) for Modified Adaptive Polar Transform (MAPT). This algorithm can be used to register images of the same or different modalities. This transform analyzes periodic signal components and presents the advantage of being independent of the window length. The performance of the Modified Gabor Wavelet Transform is compared with previous methods like Log Polar Transform and Adaptive Polar Transform. The results show that MGWT outperforms all evaluated model-independent methods with respect to identification accuracy. These results show that the basis of errors produced by the previous methods is the fixed working scale. The new method not only avoids this basis of errors but also makes a tool available for detailed study.

Based on a texture descriptor which intrinsically defines the geometry of textures using semi-local image information and tools from differential geometry, a fast active contour segmentation model for color texture image is proposed. In this model, we use the popular Bhattacharyya distance between the probability density function (pdf) to design the data fitting term which distinguishes the background and textures of interest. Then, a fast algorithm based on the Split-Bregman method is introduced to extract meaningful objects. Finally, some examples on some challenging images are illustrated to verify the possibility of the proposed model.

We consider a generalization of Voronoi diagrams, recently introduced by Barequet et al., in which the distance is measured from a pair of sites to a point. An easy way to define such distance was proposed together with the concept: it can be the sum-of, the product-of, or (the absolute value of) the difference-between Euclidean distances from either site to the respective point. We explore further the last definition, and analyze the complexity of the nearest- and the furthest-neighbor 2-site Voronoi diagrams for points in the plane with Manhattan or Chebyshev underlying metrics, providing extensions to general Minkowsky metrics and, for the nearest-neighbor case, to higher dimensions. In addition, we point out that the observation made earlier in the literature that 2-point site Voronoi diagrams under the sum-of and the product-of Euclidean distances are identical and almost identical to the second order Voronoi diagrams, respectively, holds in a much more general statement.
