The primary sector of our Indian economy is agriculture. Today’s world’s most important and vital industries are agriculture and irrigation. Information and communication technology must be used in our agriculture sectors in order to support farmers and agriculturalists in improving their practices across the entire crop-growing and post-harvest processes. It is still challenging to define processed food, even in light of mounting research that suggests consuming more ultra-processed food has negative health effects. This research proposes novel technique in smart agriculture model based on cloud machine learning in cloud machine learning and healthcare system. By leveraging IoT and cloud-based data to create data-driven product decisions, cloud computing in agriculture can assist farmers with smart agriculture practices. Here, the input has been collected as food quality based on smart agriculture using a cloud model as well as processed for noise removal and normalisation. Then, based on this data, the healthcare security system has been analysed using reinforcement adversarial stacked encoder with Markov fuzzy algorithm. The experimental analysis has been carried out for various food quality datasets in terms of training accuracy, random precision, normalised correlation ratio, F-1 score, and AUC. The proposed technique achieved training accuracy of 96%, F-1 score of 94%, random precision of 97%, normalised correlation ratio of 93%, and AUC of 92%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Comparative Evaluation of Deep Learning Models in Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis

Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is an ever-evolving neurodegenerative confusion that influences the neurons of the mind in a manner that hinders the patients’ ability to solve problems and remember issues and that requires timely and proper identification to enable appropriate management and treatment. Based on MRI medical images, deep learning models have become one of the most effective approaches for analyzing the signs of the early stages of AD. This research, therefore, carries out a comparative analysis of five deep learning models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) like AlexNet, VGGNet, and ResNet, as well as Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks and 3D Convolutional Neural Networks (3D-CNNs) in the finding of Alzheimer’s Sickness from medical imaging data. Each model’s arrangement parameters, for example, layer configurations, learning rate, batch size, optimizer, number of epochs, loss function, applying techniques for regularization, activation functions, and the input dimensions, using pre-trained weights, were carefully initialized to yield a proper comparison between the models. Diagnostic performances were evaluated utilizing precision, responsiveness(recall), specificity, and region under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC). ResNet outperformed other profound learning models in diagnosing Alzheimer’s Disease from MRI scans with a precision of 0.91 and AUC-ROC of 0.95. At the same time, VGGNet, AlexNet, LSTM, and 3D-CNNs demonstrated varying strengths and limitations in balancing accuracy, computational efficiency, and feature extraction.

The technology and field of study known as Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) focuses on recognising and deciphering human facial expressions to ascertain emotions. It incorporates aspects of psychology, machine learning, and computer vision. Considering its ability to analyse facial expressions and spot signs of stress or emotional distress, FER plays a vital role in the detection of stress. Microexpressions are fleeting, uncontrollably expressed facial expressions that convey true feelings. These ephemeral expressions, which are frequently linked to stress, can be captured by FER systems. With its capacity to manage intricate patterns and variances in face expressions, FER utilising deep learning has grown in popularity. A novel FER system was designed to overcome issues that plague current FER systems, such as imbalanced datasets and robustness to noisy inputs. Large datasets are handled effectively by FER employing Deep CNN because of its architecture, which is built for high-dimensional input like images. Leveraging FER using Deep CNN achieves notable performance improvements, attaining an accuracy of 95.65 % and F1 score of 94.02%. Deep learning-based FER marks a substantial advancement in our ability to recognize and decipher facial expressions that convey emotions. FER technology has the ability to revolutionize several fields by improving intuition and sensitivity to human emotions through further development and thoughtful assessment of ethical ramifications. FER systems will advance in sophistication as science and technology develop, offering more profound understanding of human emotional states and promoting improved human-machine interactions.

Relative or decision reducts belong with mechanisms dedicated to feature selection, and they are embedded in rough set approach to data processing. Algorithms for reduct construction typically aim at dimensionality reduction aspect, searching for smallest reducts, which are considered as the most advantageous from the point of view of knowledge representation. However, classifiers build on reduced data models, based on reducts, can significantly vary in performance. Therefore, to ensure quality of predictions, other characteristics of reducts, apart from their cardinalities, need to be taken into account. The paper presents research in which estimation of reduct quality through their characteristics was reflected in calculation of the proposed weighting factors leading to attribute rankings. These rankings were next employed in the process of filtering decision rules, inferred by classic rough set approach. Constructed rule-based classifiers were applied in the stylometric domain to solve a task of authorship attribution. © 2022 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. The rapid expansion of industrialization and urbanization has resulted in a notable increase in garbage generation, so effective waste management systems become ever more important. Automated solutions are especially important as conventional garbage sorting techniques are labour-intensive and prone to human error. This work investigates the application of convolutional neural network architecture DenseNet121 to categorize waste into six groups: cardboard, glass, metal, paper, plastic, and rubbish. We seek to maximize classification accuracy by using DenseNet121's dense connection and thereby minimize model parameters. We trained DenseNet121 for the task using a dataset taken from Kaggle and obtained an accuracy of 88%. The outcomes show the possibilities of the model in automating waste classification, so supporting sustainable cities, resource economy, environmental preservation, responsible manufacturing and consumption habits, and enhanced recycling procedures. We then address the design, training approach, and performance criteria, stressing the advantages and difficulties of including such systems in major waste management projects. © 2024 IEEE.

Stylometric analysis of texts relies on learning characteristic traits of writing styles for authors. Once these patterns are discovered, they can be compared to the ones present in other text samples, to recognise their authorship. This recognition can be compromised if input datasets are prepared without taking into consideration possible stratification of the input space, leading to specific grouping of datapoints, or sub-classes within distinguished classes. The paper shows research dedicated to construction of various structures of input datasets, and combinations of such structures between train and test sets. In the research the influence of different stratification forms on the performance of selected popular classification systems was observed. To minimise the number of influencing factors, a task of authorship attribution was performed as binary classification with balanced classes. Stylometric descriptors exploited belonged to lexical and syntactic group, giving frequencies of occurrence for chosen style-markers. It resulted in real-valued attributes and these values were explored without applying discretisation, in order to avoid the possible bias of this procedure on observations. © 2022 The Authors. Traffic safety on highways is supported by a variety of technical measures, including countless camera systems that are often only monitored by human operators. However, due to the sheer amount of data, safety monitoring and accident prevention are limited by human resources. In this paper, we present an efficient system capable of extracting accurate vehicle trajectories from the vast amount of video data generated by modern highway infrastructures. Our proposed system conveniently leverages bird's eye view transformations estimated from aerial data or street marker geometry to generate geo-localized trajectories. Utilizing existing infrastructure, we demonstrate that the central data for video-based highway traffic monitoring can be reliably extracted. Remarkably, this can be achieved solely relying on uncalibrated cameras and noisy video streams.

Mobile edge computing (MEC) is a newly emerging concept that provides significant local computing power and reduces end-to-end latency. In MEC environments, caching frequently accessed services on edge servers effectively reduces latency and improves system responsiveness. An ongoing research topic in such a cachable MEC context is to design novel algorithms for yielding high-quality caching decision that guarantee high user-perceived quality-of-service (QoS) and high system responsiveness of delivery of cached content with the difference of caching capacities of edge servers and diversified content popularity appropriately addressed. In this article, we propose a multi-armed bandits learning-based method busing a Thompson sampling for generating caching decisions. We introduce a genetic multi-armed bandits algorithm (GMAB), which synthesizes the genetic algorithm (GA) and multi-armed bandits (MAB), for optimizing caching effectiveness with timing and space constraints. Fuzzy data processing enables data enrichment and increases data interpretation in industrial environments. In the cloud-based IoT data ingestion pipelines, fuzzy data processing can be implemented in several locations, closer to the IoT events gateways, stream processors, or the persistence layer before the data is visualized. Since Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV)-enabled manufacturing can produce vast amounts of data, the decision on the placement of the fuzzy data processing can be important for secondary processes performed on the enriched data, like the predictive maintenance inferencing. In this paper, we analyze two locations of fuzzy data processing in the cloud-based environment built for monitoring AGVs in smart factories - by formulating fuzzy queries against data streams on stream processing units and data at rest in a database. The querying scenarios cover fuzzy filtering with simple and complex criteria, fuzzy filtering through assignment to a linguistic variable, and joining data streams by representing joining attributes as fuzzy numbers. The experimental results show that querying the data stream can be more efficient and profitable in the scalable environment of many AGVs. However, the enrichment provided for the data at rest is also beneficial when gathering data for building future predictive maintenance models. © 2024 IEEE.

Twitter is the one of the biggest social media sites, where users may share their thoughts, ideas, and opinions as well as discuss current events and live tweets. In the subject of opinion mining, creating reliable and effective algorithms for sarcasm detection on Twitter is an intriguing task. Sarcasm is the use of positive language to convey depressing emotions while speaking in opposition to one’s own intentions. Sarcasm is frequently employed on social networking and micro blogging platforms, where users can offend others and find it difficult to express their true feelings. The deep learning technique utilised in the current algorithms to identify these sarcastic tweets has the limitation of not being able to predict continuous variables. A novel deep learning algorithm is proposed to identify both positive and negative terms as well as sarcasm in comments. Deep neural networks are used to classify the comments into positive and negative word categories. Customers’ opinions are mined using sentiment analysis to find and extract information from the text. Sarcastically stated statements from social networking sites can be quickly categorised and recognised by using VADER (Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner).
