Performance Improvement of Clustering Affinity Propagation Method using Principal Component Analysis

Affinity Propagation Method it is necessary to modify the algorithm by using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). PCA method is used to reduce the attributes or characteristics that are less influential on the data so that the most influential attributes are obtained to then be carried out the clustering process with Affinity Propagation. The comparison results of the PCA + AP grouping model have better performance than the conventional AP grouping model. This is justified because the number of iterations and clusters produced by the PCA + AP clustering model does not change and converges when there are 8 optimal cluster clusters. While the performance of conventional clustering models produces an optimal number of clusters from 14 clusters with a significant number of iterations. So it can be concluded that the PCA + AP grouping model is suitable for the Air Quality dataset because it produces an optimal number of clusters and iterations of 8 clusters. The comparison results of the PCA + AP grouping model have better performance than the conventional AP grouping model. This is justified because the number of iterations and clusters produced by the PCA + AP clustering model does not change and converges when the optimal number of clusters is 5 clusters. While the performance of conventional clustering models produces a suboptimal number of 10 clusters with a significant number of iterations. So it can be concluded that the PCA + AP grouping model is suitable for the Water Quality Status dataset because it produces an optimal number of clusters and 5 cluster repetitions.

Application architecture and information technology systems in the company should be able to support the company's policy that leads to their alignment with the business objectives. The alignment of the implementation of information technology systems to the needs and goals of the organization will be able to be answered by taking into account the integration in the development, so that the gap of these two things can be minimized. As a company engaged in IT consulting, project management system is one form of application systems that support core business objective of the company: to produce high-quality software. Nevertheless, the project management system should be able to work together with other supporting information systems, so that the flow of information within the company can run effectively. To achieve these objectives, required the analysis and design of an integrated system, which can be achieved through a service-oriented architecture based system. which includes the stages of requirements and analysis, design and development, and the last is the IT operations. A therapy game for elementary students with ADHD

Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder usually have problem to express themselves. Using game as a therapy, they could reduce the problem. A recent study has revealed video games might be an alternative therapy for children with ADHD. This research is to analyze the data that was collected from a prototype game that has been developed and created. The game is created using Construct2. To collect data from the game, back-end web application was created using PHP and MySQL. Several data that have been used in this research paper are score, incorrect house, and incorrect fruit. Ten children with ADHD are involved in this testing, all children are elementary students and never receive any treatment for their ADHD. Before and after the testing, they have been tested by fMRI. The testing consists of 4 weeks of training sessions of about 20-30 minutes almost every day except Sunday or public holiday. Every session contains at least three tutorial or training tasks and four game tasks in a fixed order. In conclusion, the result showed the scores were better when the children with ADHD play with visual instruction rather than with audio instruction.

Background: Although evidence indicates that extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is effective in treating calcifying shoulder tendinitis, incomplete resorption and dissatisfactory results are still reported in many cases. Data mining techniques have been applied in health care in the past decade to predict outcomes of disease and treatment. Purpose: To identify the ideal data mining technique for the prediction of ESWT-induced shoulder calcification resorption and the most accurate algorithm for use in the clinical setting. Study Design: Case-control study. Methods: Patients with painful calcified shoulder tendinitis treated by ESWT were enrolled. Seven clinical factors related to shoulder calcification were adopted as the input attributes: sex, age, side affected, symptom duration, pretreatment Constant-Murley score, and calcification size and type. The 5 data mining techniques assessed were multilayer perceptron (neural network), naïve Bayes, sequential minimal optimization, logistic regression, and the J48 decision tree classifier. Results: A total of 248 patients with calcified shoulder tendinitis were enrolled in this study. Shorter symptom duration yielded the highest gain ratio (0.374), followed by smaller calcification size (0.336) and calcification type (0.253). With the J48 decision tree method, the accuracy of 3 input attributes was 89.5% by 10-fold cross-validation, indicating satisfactory accuracy. A treatment algorithm using the J48 decision tree indicated that a symptom duration of ≤10 months was the most positive indicator of calcification resorption, followed by a calcification size of ≤10.82 mm. Conclusion: The J48 decision tree method demonstrated the highest precision and accuracy in the prediction of shoulder calcification resorption by ESWT. A symptom duration of ≤10 months or calcification size of ≤10.82 mm represented the clinical scenarios most likely to show resorption after ESWT. © The Author(s) 2024.

In senior high schools, especially in the first class were required to place a department that is in accordance with the value produced. The application predicts student majors based on the value of students using artificial neural network algorithms using rapid miner to be able to produce more precise and faster accuracy results. The results obtained from the analysis carried out obtained an accuracy value of 71.86%.ANN has a network architecture that is a single layer net. Networks that have more than one layer are called multilayer net and competitive layer networks (competitive layer net). The shape of a multilayer net 1 or more has between the input layer and the output layer, which weighs between 2 adjacent layers. ANN architecture using 3 layers is 7 input layers, 6 hidden layers, and 2 output layers. 20 neurons are the number of neuron outputs to artificial neural networks

The performance of superconducting qubits is often limited by dissipation and two-level systems (TLS) losses. The dominant sources of these losses are believed to originate from amorphous materials and defects at interfaces and surfaces, likely as a result of fabrication processes or ambient exposure. Here, we explore a novel wet chemical surface treatment at the Josephson junction-substrate and the substrate-air interfaces by replacing a buffered oxide etch (BOE) cleaning process with one that uses hydrofluoric acid followed by aqueous ammonium fluoride. We show that the ammonium fluoride etch process results in a statistically significant improvement in median T1 by ∼ 22% (p = 0.002), and a reduction in the number of strongly-coupled TLS in the tunable frequency range. Microwave resonator measurements on samples treated with the ammonium fluoride etch prior to niobium deposition also show ∼ 33% lower TLS-induced loss tangent compared to the BOE treated samples. As the chemical treatment primarily modifies the Josephson junction-substrate interface and substrate-air interface, we perform targeted chemical and structural characterizations to examine materials’ differences at these interfaces and identify multiple microscopic changes that could contribute to decreased TLS. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Naïve CD8 T cells have the potential to differentiate into a spectrum of functional states during an immune response. How these developmental decisions are made and what mechanisms exist to suppress differentiation toward alternative fates remains unclear. We employed in vivo CRISPR-Cas9-based perturbation sequencing to assess the role of ~40 transcription factors (TFs) and epigenetic modulators in T cell fate decisions. Unexpectedly, we found that knockout of the TF Klf2 resulted in aberrant differentiation to exhausted-like CD8 T cells during acute infection. KLF2 was required to suppress the exhaustion-promoting TF TOX and to enable the TF TBET to drive effector differentiation. KLF2 was also necessary to maintain a polyfunctional tumor-specific progenitor state. Thus, KLF2 provides effector CD8 T cell lineage fidelity and suppresses the exhaustion program.

The fractional differential equation Lβu = f posed on a compact metric graph is considered, where β > 0 and L = κ2 − ∇(a∇) is a second-order elliptic operator equipped with certain vertex conditions and sufficiently smooth and positive coefficients κ, a. We demonstrate the existence of a unique solution for a general class of vertex conditions and derive the regularity of the solution in the specific case of Kirchhoff vertex conditions. These results are extended to the stochastic setting when f is replaced by Gaussian white noise. For the deterministic and stochastic settings under generalized Kirchhoff vertex conditions, we propose a numerical solution based on a finite element approximation combined with a rational approximation of the fractional power L−β. For the resulting approximation, the strong error is analyzed in the deterministic case, and the strong mean squared error as well as the L2(Γ×Γ)error of the covariance function of the solution are analyzed in the stochastic setting. With the growing ubiquity of data in network form, clustering in the context of a network, represented as a graph, has become increasingly important. Clustering is a very useful data exploratory machine learning tool that allows us to make better sense of heterogeneous data by grouping data with similar attributes based on some criteria. This paper investigates the application of a novel graph theoretic clustering method, Node-Based Resilience clustering (NBR-Clust), to address the heterogeneity of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and identify meaningful subgroups. The hypothesis is that analysis of these subgroups would reveal relevant biomarkers that would provide a better understanding of ASD phenotypic heterogeneity useful for further ASD studies. We address appropriate graph constructions suited for representing the ASD phenotype data. The sample population is drawn from a very large rigorous dataset: Simons Simplex Collection (SSC). Analysis of the results performed using graph quality measures, internal cluster validation measures, and clinical analysis outcome demonstrate the potential usefulness of resilience measure clustering for biomedical datasets. We also conduct feature extraction analysis to characterize relevant biomarkers that delineate the resulting subgroups. The optimal results obtained favored predominantly a 5-cluster configuration. © 2018, The Author(s).
