The ability of students to think creatively in finding solutions to a problem is important in learning physics. However, teaching materials that used in school have not integrated learning model that can enhance students' creative thinking abilities. The solution to improve students' creative thinking skills is to develop worksheet using the Creative Problem-based Learning (CPBL) model in physics learning on Senior High School. To develop the worksheet, a preliminary study was conducted. This study used a descriptive method with the subjects of physics teacher in Senior High School at Padang. The instruments used are in the questionnaires and interview guidelines. Analyzing of the data is using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the performance analysis and the level of difficulty in learning were in the less category, and the student's creative thinking abilities in physics learning were in the very less category. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd. Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a semiconductor material with many applications, such as surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), photocatalysts, water treatment, and photoelectrochemicals. Controlling the properties of anatase TiO2 is typically challenging during TiO2 synthesis. Generally, achieving this control necessitates intricate conditions and processes. The solvothermal method is expected to be easier to control the formation of TiO2 with well-defined morphology and good crystallinity, hence, the band gap can be tuned well. However, there has been a lack of research on the effect of solvents in the solvothermal method of TiO2 synthesis on the optical band gap. Herewith, we report an easy-controlled solvothermal method by varying the type and composition of the solvent to modify the band gap of anatase TiO2. Interestingly, ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) analysis reveals an anatase TiO2 optical band gap between 1.66 to 3.60 eV, indicating that TiO2 obtained can be operated in the UV to visible light region. The solvents utilized for the titanium (IV) isopropoxide (TTIP) precursor in TiO2 synthesis are isopropanol (IPA), methanol (META), and ethanol (ETA). X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy show anatase TiO2 single crystalline phases synthesized by IPA and ETA solvents and the combination of polycrystalline and amorphous morphology TiO2 synthesized by META solvent. Anatase single crystalline phases are achieved for the solvent mixture with a composition ratio of IPA:ETA solvents of 1:2, 1:1, and 2:1. Our result shows that the optical band gap of single crystalline phase TiO2 can be engineered in a wide range via solvothermal method for green and sustainable material. © 2024, The Authors. Methylcellulose-AgNPs-oat hydrogel as a wound dressing for burn wound

Based on the RISKESDAS in 2018 the prevalence of burns reached 1,3% of the total population of Indonesia and basen on WHO there were 195,000 cases of deaths due to burns every year. One clinical treatment for burns is to use hydrogels as wound dressing. Hydrogel wound dressing functions to absorb wound exudates, by keeping the wound moist. This study was conducted to determine the effect of adding oat extrac to the hydrogel methylcellulose-AgNPs. Hydrogel methylcellulose-AgNPs are mixed with oat extract, with an oat extract concentration of 0 wt%, 0.5 wt%, 1 wt%, 1.5 wt%, and 2 wt%. The characterization carried out included XRD crystallinity test and SEM morphology test for the characterization of AgNPs, and it was found that 10.2% of AgNPs were formed and evenly distributed AgNPs. In addition, characterization of hydrogel wound dressing was carried out which included antibacterial test, cytotoxicity test, swelling test, and antioxidant test. From the results of the analysis it was found that the best variable methylcellulose-AgNPs-oat hydrogel was a sample with an oat concentration of 2 wt%, which had a clear zone diameter of 10.35 mm and was sensitive to bacteria, had a% viability of 2.206%, a swelling value of 71, 7%, and has an antioxidant value of 95%. It shows that the addition of oats can increase the cell viability because oats are antioxidants, so they can counteract the free radicals produced by AgNPs, but the addition of oats increases sensitivity to bacteria because oats also function as antibacterial. Samples with oats of 2 wt% have the best characterization even though they have not met the standard wound dressing.

Activated carbon is an interesting and third-highest-studied material due to its wide range of applications and environmental benefits. Activated carbon is also a promising material processed from sago waste in order to improve its economic value. The Sago waste utilized was obtained from the local community in Maribu Village, Jayapura, Papua, Indonesia and the fabrication process includes dehydration, carbonization, and chemical activation of KOH with 20% concentration. In this study, activated carbon was characterized with a scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometer, as well as Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy to analyze the crystalline structure, morphology, and functional groups. The end product of the activated carbon was utilized to adsorb Hg(II), Cd(II), as well as Pb(II) heavy metal ions. The adsorption capacity was then examined with Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy using an analytical method. This study’s result showed that the activated carbon has mesoporous characteristics with fine structure and morphology. Therefore, the material was suitable for use as heavy metal adsorbent, with high absorption efficiency of over 80%.

Visible light-based human–machine interactive media is capable of transmitting electrical readouts to machines and providing intuitive feedback to users ***,many inorganic mechanoluminescent(ML)materials-based interactive media,typically ZnS-loaded phosphors(ZLPs),have been successfully ***,organic ML materials-based solutions were rarely exploited despite their huge merits of strong structural modification,abundant luminescence property,low cost,easy preparation,and so ***,we propose a novel interactive tactile display(ITD)based on organic ML materials(Cz-A6-dye)and triboelectric nanogenerator,with ultra-brightness(130%enhancement)and ultra-low threshold pressure(57%reduction)as compared to *** proposed ITD achieves the conversion of weak mechanical stimuli into visible light and electrical signals simultaneously,without extra power ***,the relationship between the luminous performance of organic ML materials and mechanical force is quantified,benefiting from the uniform ML layer *** by convolutional neural networks,the high-accuracy recognition(97.1%)for handwriting and identity of users is realized at the same ***,the ITD has great potential for intelligent wearable electronics and classified military applications.

Biocompatibility evaluation of electrospun Poly-L lactic Acid-chitosan immobilized with heparin as scaffold for vascular tissue repair

Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide, disability, high morbidity, and mortality. One of the leading causes of infarct stroke is carotid stenosis. The postoperative narrowing of the carotid artery diameter is a common complication after primary arterial closure in carotid endarterectomy surgery. A biomaterial design that combines synthetic and natural polymers is a promising strategy for patching arterial closure. In this paper, the electrospinning process was employed and Poly-L Lactic Acid (PLLA) was used as a base material. Chitosan and heparin were added to increase the biocompatibility of the biomaterial. The electrospun PLLA-chitosan immobilized with heparin (C sample) had better characteristics than the pure electrospun PLLA. The fiber diameter decreased to a micrometer scale and the pore size fell and became narrower, resulting in a smoother surface. Fiber diameter results for each sample were 1312.66 nm, 486.29 nm and 387.87 nm. Thereby potentially reducing the activation of blood coagulation and inflammation. The ultimate tensile strength test result for each sample were 2.28 MPa, 3.61 MPa and 3.25 MPa, for elongation results were 12.05%, 17.39%, and 18.14%, aligned with those of the human carotid artery and indicating potential use in patch angioplasty applications. This scaffold nanofiber was declared non-haemolytic for the C sample was 1.13% and non-cytotoxic. Percent viability for each sample was 89.35%, 83.81% and 78.92%. The in vivo host tissue response was shown to decrease pro-inflammatory cytokine expressions. This research shows that the proposed PLLA-chitosan-heparin biomaterial has strong physical properties and can modify the inflammatory response. However, it requires additional biofunctional alterations to optimize its tissue engineering capabilities. © 2023 Vietnam National University, Hanoi

This paper considers parameters and sampling time identification of a three interacting tanks system. A novel tailor-made model is introduced to deal with the real plant in the laboratory. Experimental data are then exploited to perform parameter identification via particle swarm optimisation (PSO) method. In addition to the system parameters, we propose to simultaneously optimize the sampling selection in the optimisation process. Even though several well known sampling time selection are established, a more precise selection is required. It is shown in this paper that a meta-heuristic optimisation method (PSO) can be an efficient procedure for this problem. Moreover, three different error measures for performing optimisation are also discussed.

This study aims to present an approach for analyzing the performance of granular cosmetic adhesion by a numerical simulation using the uFlex particle. To ensure the viability of a numerical simulation, the effect of the process parameters on the dropping granular performance such as curve type, surface moisture level, and curve angle was evaluated. Results suggest that the humidity and curvature angle have significant effects on the density of cosmetic particles on the surface, while the other parameter have relatively small effects. Moreover, the effect of each parameter on the granular adhesion at the surface has been explained by utilizing the particle analysis after the collision. The simulation result shows the adhesion of granular particles with a curved surface leads to better performance under moist surfaces with a convex shape at the angle of 0 degrees. However, on all curvatures, worse adhesion performance under dry surfaces with convex shape. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Natural disaster nowadays often occur in Indonesia due to climate change, especially those related to atmospheric dynamics anomalies. The statutory event of atmospheric turbulence statistically is quite significant in its improvement. This is an important issue to conduct research both in the analysis of atmospheric dynamics and early detection solutions for these events. The Windshear phenomenon is an atmospheric turbulence disaster that occurs below an altitude of 3000 feet, often known as low level windshear (LLWS), which is very dangerous for planes taking take-off or landing. Its effect on the aircraft will result in increased airflow on the wings, so this increased airflow will result in a sudden increase in aircraft speed. If the pilot is not aware of the indication of the windshear, he will instinctively throttle back to reduce/compensate for the aircraft's speed. However, once the plane passes through the wind shear zone, the wind suddenly turns into a downdraft. The design of windshear early detection devices have been developed to complement research on the dynamics of the atmosphere. The results obtained are anomalous changes in temperature and atmospheric pressure at this time, and the windshear sensor can detect it well. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Chitosan-Unripe banana peel powder (UBPP) as a candidate for antibacterial wound dressing

Wound infections have spread seriously worldwide, especially in Indonesia. Based on the Basic Health Survey conducted by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, shows that the prevalence of injuries tends to be high in Indonesia. Therefore, proper wound care is needed to prevent the wound from infection or other unwanted things. Various studies have been conducted to optimize the wound healing process. It is expected that materials that meet the standards for wound dressings will be produced using natural materials such as chitosan and banana peel. The purpose of this study is to confirm the change of unripe banana peel powder (UBPP) in the chitosan/UBPP dressing film. The changes in the concentration used were 0, 9, 10, and 11% wt. Membrane results were characterized by FTIR, SEM, tensile strength, cytotoxicity, swelling, and antibacterial tests. Based on tests in the functional group of FTIR, at a concentration of 10% wt UBPP showed an interaction between banana peel powder and chitosan at a wavelength of 3174.83 cm−1. The results of the SEM form of the 10% wt chitosan/UBPP sample showed a good interfacial appearance. Based on the tensile strength test, it can be seen that the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) value increases with the addition of the concentration of unripe banana peel powder (UBPP) and it can be seen that the UTS value has met the tensile strength standard. Cytotoxicity studies have shownthat all four samples are non-toxic, with more than 60% of live cells in the four samples. The addition of unripe banana peel powder reduces the swelling properties of water from the wound dressing. Antibacterial test results Synergistic results were shown for the highest antibacterial activity at a concentration of UBPP 11% wt.
