This article analyzes three options for the Army Medical Department to improve its delivery of primary care to beneficiaries. The options are: increase the capabilities of its own hospitals' primary care clinics, increase the capabilities of its own free-standing health clinics, and establish PRIMUS free-standing primary care clinics which are under contract with private contractors. Although it is clear that the PRIMUS option is most favorable, the analysis recommends a careful and incremental increase in the number of PRIMUS clinics because of serious implications.

Dry-season sources of riverine sediment from the tropical mixed urban-agricultural watershed of the Mun River Basin in northeastern Thailand

Northeastern(NE) Thailand is well recognized as the land for rice cropping and consequently, it is potentially contaminated with chemicals from soil fertilization, pest/weed control, and urban *** Mun River basin in NE Thailand principally is comprised of rice paddies and sedimentation in the river has been pronounced, but the studies on sediment source identification are limited. The current study aims to identify sediment sources in the Mun River basin and discuss possible impacts on ecosystems attributed to exposure to polluted sediment. The assessment relies upon physicochemical properties and heavy metal contents(iron(Fe), manganese(Mn), copper(Cu), chromium(Cr), nickel(Ni),and Zinc(Zn)) in the fine-grained sediment(<63 μm) taken from the Mun River basin and the Chi River in the dry season of 2020-2021. The findings revealed that the heavy metals in the sediment had not accumulated to levels of concern. Most sediment was from natural sources, including Fe-and Mn-rich sediment, Cr-dominant sediment, and Ni-and Cu-rich sediment. Fe-and Zn-rich sediment was, however, found in the urban watershed of Lam Ta Klong, and it could originate from mixed urban sources. Ferich sediment was predominant in the Mun River basin, which and could be a significant sink and source of toxic elements from agricultural and urban discharges. It is suggested that the toxic compounds in the sediment should be consistently monitored, whereas ecological and health risk assessment should be focused on the mobile forms.

The objectives of the research article were: To making the online Historical map of the Pak Phraek road community, Kanchanaburi. The samples and Key Informants included;villagers, philosopher of the Pak Phraek road community, historical scholars, and the government agencies. This research used the Geo-informatics concept, Participatory Geographic information System concept (PGIS), and the walking map concept were the main concept for this studies. Estimating and tracing actual crop water demands during the growing season are necessarily essential as it can be the basic and useful information for achievement of irrigation water management and reservoir operation practices. The crop water demand (ETcrop) is commonly determined by multiplying the crop coefficient (Kc) and reference crop evapotranspiration (ETo) calculating from meteorological data at the nearby stations. In this study, the planting area and growth stage of crops in the Tortongdang, Wangbua, Wangyang and Nongkhwan Operation and Maintenance Projects, which are located in the Lower Ping River Basin, were tracked and crop coefficient was evaluated using weather based irrigation scheduling (IrriSAT) application for estimation of crop water requirement. IrriSAT provides the satellite images processing of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) of planting area of crop and uses empirical relationship to find Kc. Kc values of season and off-season crops planting in four irrigation area during 2000-2019 were traced by IrriSAT and the results were compared with average Kc-RID values which were calculated as a function of Kc from field observation for the different types of crop and accumulated area of crops monitored by the remote sensing. The results showed the similar patterns of average Kc over the growth stages of crops. However, the Kc values calculated by IrriSAT for four irrigation area were slightly deviated from Kc-RID values in some growing periods. Therefore, calibrating Kc values calculated by IrriSAT was then conducted in this study to estimate actual crop water use and benchmark with the filed observation data. Scientific novelty drives the efforts to invent new vaccines and solutions during the pandemic. First-time collaboration and international collaboration are two pivotal channels to expand teams' search activities for a broader scope of resources required to address the global challenge, which might facilitate the generation of novel ideas. Our analysis of 98,981 coronavirus papers suggests that scientific novelty measured by the BioBERT model that is pre-trained on 29 million PubMed articles, and first-time collaboration increased after the outbreak of COVID-19, and international collaboration witnessed a sudden decrease. During COVID-19, papers with more first-time collaboration were found to be more novel and international collaboration did not hamper novelty as it had done in the normal periods. The findings suggest the necessity of reaching out for distant resources and the importance of maintaining a collaborative scientific community beyond nationalism during a pandemic. Over the past 2 to 3 decades,Chinese forests are estimated to act as a large carbon sink,yet the magnitude and spatial patterns of this sink differ considerably among *** 3 microwave(L-and X-band vegetation optical depth[VOD])and 3 optical(normalized difference vegetation index,leaf area index,and tree cover)remote-sensing vegetation products,this study compared the estimated live woody aboveground biomass carbon(AGC)dynamics over China between 2013 and *** results showed that tree cover has the highest spatial consistency with 3 published AGC maps(mean correlation value R=0.84),followed by L-VOD(R=0.83),which outperform the other *** AGC estimation model was proposed to combine all indices to estimate the annual AGC dynamics in China during 2013 to *** performance of the AGC estimation model was good(root mean square error=0.05 Pg C and R^(2)=0.90 with a mean relative uncertainty of 9.8% at pixel scale[0.25°]).Results of the AGC estimation model showed that carbon uptake by the forests in China was about+0.17 Pg C year^(-1) from 2013 to *** the regional level,provinces in southwest China including Guizhou(+22.35 Tg C year^(-1)),Sichuan(+14.49 Tg C year^(-1)),and Hunan(+11.42 Tg C year^(-1))provinces had the highest carbon sink rates during 2013 to *** of the carbon-sink regions have been afforested recently,implying that afforestation and ecological engineering projects have been effective means for carbon sequestration in these regions.

A zoologist with particular interest in the cellular basis of seasonal color changes in mammals he taught at the University of Pennsylvania Brown University and Wheaton College in Massachusetts before becoming dean of Wheaton in 1964 and developing planning and resource allocation procedures there which attracted the support and interest of the then Esso Education Foundation. His article on “Instruction” appears in the Handbook of College and University Administration.

Background: Precision medicine has become a mainstay of cancer care in recent years. The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program has been an authoritative source of cancer statistics and data since 1973. However, tumor genomic information has not been adequately captured in the cancer surveillance data, which impedes population-based research on molecular subtypes. To address this, the SEER program has developed and implemented a centralized process to link SEER registries' tumor cases with genomic test results that are provided by molecular laboratories to the registries. Methods: Data linkages were carried out following operating procedures for centralized linkages established by the SEER program. The linkages used Match∗Pro, a probabilistic linkage software, and were facilitated by the registries' trusted third party (an honest broker). The SEER registries provide to NCI limited datasets that undergo preliminary evaluation prior to their release to the research community. Results: Recently conducted genomic linkages included OncotypeDX Breast Recurrence Score, OncotypeDX Breast Ductal Carcinoma in Situ, OncotypeDX Genomic Prostate Score, Decipher Prostate Genomic Classifier, DecisionDX Uveal Melanoma, DecisionDX Preferentially Expressed Antigen in Melanoma, DecisionDX Melanoma, and germline tests results in Georgia and California SEER registries. Conclusions: The linkages of cancer cases from SEER registries with genomic test results obtained from molecular laboratories offer an effective approach for data collection in cancer surveillance. By providing de-identified data to the research community, the NCI's SEER program enables scientists to investigate numerous research inquiries. © 2024 The Author(s).
