We have been developing MEIMAT (MEiji Microprocessor Architecture Design Tools). The MEIMAT is essentially designed to be able to represent any instruction of various processors by the MEIMAT meta-instruction in two ways of semantic and functional expressions. In this paper, we have verified the RISC-V support to the MEIMAT, and have improved so that MEIMAT further supports RISC-V. First, we have verified whether the RISC-V instructions can be expressed by the MEIMAT semantic expression. It is also verified that the functional expression is automatically generated from the semantic instruction, and the corresponding correct circuit diagrams are generated in the MEIMAT instruction visualization tool. Then, we have newly developed a stage configuration mechanism to implement the RISC-V instructions. Because the RISC-V architecture is implemented by 4 or 5 processing stages in most actual processors. To develop further an easy-to-understand design tool, we have also introduced illustration windows for RISC-V specified hardware modules such as a register file, especially a status register in the instruction visualization tool. Finally, through these verifications and improvements, we have successfully confirmed that the 43 instructions in the RISCV (RV32I) instructions set of the RISC-V architecture can be converted into MEIMAT meta-instructions, and then they can be represented as circuit diagrams with the RISC-V stage configuration in the MEIMAT instruction visualization tool. © 2023 IEEE.

We have been developing MEIMAT, meiji micro-processor (MPU) architecture design tools. Our MEIMAT has a feature to implement arbitrary instructions. However, the MEIMAT does not have a function to simulate those instructions. Therefore, we have newly developed a function of simulation to dynamically execute the designed instructions. The result of this dynamic simulation can be measured by the developed module viewers. It is also demonstrated that a higher performance MPU can be designed by our improved MEIMAT. © 2022 IEEE.

When making a new microprocessor (MPU), the instruction set architecture is considered. It is also necessary to design how to work the instructions in hardware circuits of the MPU. As a solution to these, we previously proposed a method of expressing the instruction in two ways of semantic expression and functional expression. We also developed a tool that can visualize the instruction. In this paper, we have improved this method by extending a usual MPU to a meta-instruction for any MPU. We have also developed a conversion method for the meta-instruction using a relationship between the semantic and the functional expressions. Then we verified how well our meta-instruction can represent the usual instructions. It is confirmed that most of them can be represented by the meta-instruction. Since our developed tool user can design the meta-instructions from either semantic or functional expression and both expressions can be automatically converted to each other, they can design the instruction of a new MPU and can understand hardware circuits for the MPU instruction by the functional expression. © 2022 IEEE.

Air is very beneficial and crucial for every living creature on earth, hence it is very important to protect the air quality in order to avoid diseases. However, due to the increase in population, some human activities have been causing detrimental damage to the air quality. Some people have realized the potential impact of this problem and have done studies on predicting future air pollution. Some implemented machine learning models such as random forest regression, support vector machine, etc, while others have utilized deep learning models in their research.. This study will implement five different models, specifically linear regression, ridge regression, random forest regression, and multilayer perceptron regression. There will be two datasets used in this paper which will be merged and processed. There will be three key evaluation metrics being used in this paper namely root mean squared error, mean absolute error, and r-squared. The results from all of the models have concluded that more optimization and factors are needed in order to boost the final result of this study. © 2024 The Authors.

In this article we consider Bayesian estimation of static parameters for a class of partially observed McKean-Vlasov diffusion processes with discrete-time observations over a fixed time interval. This problem features several obstacles to its solution, which include that the posterior density is numerically intractable in continuous-time, even if the transition probabilities are available and even when one uses a time-discretization, the posterior still cannot be used by adopting well-known computational methods such as Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC). In this paper we provide a solution to this problem by using new MCMC algorithms which can solve the aforementioned issues. This MCMC algorithm is extended to use multilevel Monte Carlo (MLMC) methods. We prove convergence bounds on our parameter estimators and show that the MLMC-based MCMC algorithm reduces the computational cost to achieve a mean square error versus ordinary MCMC by an order of magnitude. The absence of requirement documents or incompatibility of the requirement documents with existing software can be a problem in developing or maintaining software. Without knowing things that become requirements can cause software as a product that fails because it does not meet customer desires. One of the main problems in developing or maintaining software is that developers do not know the entity relational schema of the software. So developers will prefer to rebuild from scratch. This paper discusses database reconstruction from SQL to entity relational diagrams by identifying the primary and foreign keys of SQL sampling. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Nyctophobia is a phobia of the dark and is common among children but also found in adults. While the phobia itself is commonly known, the diversity of its treatment is still minimal. As technology has reached its highest point, numerous inventions and innovations have emerged in the medical sector. This study aimed to examine the usability of Virtual Reality and Keyboard and Mouse as an interface using the Extended Reality Game Usability Questionnaire (XR-GUQ) in Nyctophobia therapy and to analyze the heart rate response, impact, and implications using t-test Paired/Wilcoxon Signed Rank. Thirty-four Bina Nusantara University students from various backgrounds completed the test using interfaces and a smartwatch. They were divided into two groups, high- and low fear, using the modified Acrophobia Questionnaire (AQ), which resulted in a significant difference. The XR-GUQ result was insignificant in all variables, which indicates similar usability scores on both interfaces. The t-test Paired/Wilcoxon Signed Rank test revealed a significant difference between the high- and low-fear groups when using the Virtual Reality interface compared to the Keyboard and Mouse interface. This significant difference was found within each group regardless of the interface used. This research shows similar scores in terms of usability but a significant difference in heart rate response with the help of a serious game to give a new sensation of phobia therapy. © 2024 The Authors.

This research introduces a deep learning framework that combines convolutional neural networks with autoencoders to improve the diagnostic accuracy of knee osteoarthritis. The study utilized a publicly available dataset from the Mendeley Data repository, where knee joint images were preprocessed using Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization to enhance contrast and ensure consistent image sizing. Initially, an autoencoder was employed in an unsupervised manner to learn compressed representations of the data. These representations were then used to train a CNN to classify knee images into 'healthy' and 'osteoarthritic' categories. The model was trained using an 80:20 split for training and testing data, incorporating early stopping and data augmentation techniques to prevent overfitting and enhance generalization. Performance metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, and the area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic curve (ROCAUC) were used to evaluate the model, resulting in a high test accuracy of 98.95%. The high precision and recall rates further confirmed the model's robustness in diagnosing KOA. To enhance interpretability, Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM) was applied to identify critical regions in the images that influenced the model's decisions. Additionally, t-Distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding (t-SNE) was used to visualize the high-dimensional encoded features in a two-dimensional space, providing deeper insights into how the model differentiates between classes. The promising results of this deep learning approach suggest its potential for broader applications in medical imaging diagnostics. By providing healthcare professionals with a tool that enhances diagnostic accuracy and operational efficiency, this framework lays the foundation for developing scalable, AI-driven diagnostic systems for various complex medical conditions. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. As the world has struggled against a virus, technology enabled our survival in many dimensions. In many cases adoptions of technologies which would have lasted years happened in weeks if not days. For example, remote health care adoption was accelerated immensely to deal with the challenged health system. We are about to see similar technological innovations ramp up the hard hit economies through many different sectors. As always said, challenges create opportunities. Our field of Engineering and technology Management is growing. IEEE technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS) just finished the first virtual conference: TEMSCON 2020. As a part of it we held an editors’ panel. Holding the conference on line enabled many editors of the leading journals in the field attend the event.

Online STEM teaching is challenging in many ways such as instructor student interaction, clarity in expectations or effectiveness in content delivery. As an effort to better understand and find possible solutions to these issues, the author applied for Quality Matters (QM) certification for a database systems course to improve online course quality. In the process of trying to obtain QM certification, the author was not only able to improve the look and feel of the online course but more importantly, also improved online course content as a result of applying QM rubrics and standards. The objectives in the course also support objectives created in the department for ABET accreditation. This paper describes how QM certification helped the instructor to setup an easy to use blackboard site, clear objectives, grading rubrics and assessment methods. Specific module improvements presented in this paper includes teaching software tools, video tutorials that support course objectives and grading rubrics. Comparative study results are presented showing significant learning outcome improvements. The paper aims to offer a new angle for educators to look for ways to improve STEM online teaching. © American Society for Engineering Education, 2018.
