To prevent leakage of personal information and privacy, there is an AR technology in which secret information from handy device is overlaid on paper on which nothing about personal information is printed. The invention takes bothers away from people who have to care about printed papers when they dump them. However, to be overlaid, the secret information drawn from handy device such as smart phone must be kept in the phone or be taken from a server via the phone. Ultimately the phone has to be locked by password to prevent secret information from being leaked when the phone is lost. If the length of the password is short, the password may be broken easily by attackers, and if the length is long enough in terms of security, inputting of the password always bothers the owner of the phone. Therefore, we suggest a poisoning method that prevents attackers from finding correct information although 4 digits password is applied for locking the phone. In the method, dummy words cannot be winnowed out and they fit in the space for correct one. © 2012 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel framework for efficiently propagating the stroke-based user edits to the regions with similar colors and locations in high resolution images and videos. Our framework is based on the key observation that the edit propagation intrinsically can also be achieved by utilizing recently proposed edge-preserving filters. Therefore, instead of adopting the traditional global optimization which may involve a time-consuming solution, our algorithm propagates edits with the aid of the edge-preserve filters. Such a propagation scheme has low computational complexity and supports multiple kinds of strokes for more flexible user interactions. Further, our method can be easily and efficiently implemented in GPU. The experimental results demonstrate the efficiency and user-friendliness of our approach. © 2012 Springer science+Business Media, LLC & science Press. China.

Many common voice disorders are chronic or recurring conditions that result from abusive and/or faulty patterns of vocal behavior referred to as vocal hyperfunction. Thus, an ongoing goal is the development of long-term ambulatory monitoring for clinical assessment, prevention and modification of hyperfunctional patterns of vocal behavior. This paper reports our initial efforts toward real-time behavioral biofeedback using the smartphone-based Voice Health Monitor that records the highbandwidth acceleration from the neck skin above the sternal notch. By incorporating real-time estimation of fundamental frequency and sound pressure level, the monitor can provide various types of biofeedback to the user through a vibrotactile alert. The performance of the monitor is compared with that of the commercially available Ambulatory Phonation Monitor (APM) using a bioacoustic transducer tester that generates repeatable vibratory stimuli recorded from ahuman subject. Ambulatory features computed include phonation time, fundamental frequency, sound pressure level, and compliance to a specified threshold level. The results support the implementation of biofeedback in the smartphonebased system and illustrate that the new platform's technology performs more reliably than the APM. Future work calls for the exploration of more sophisticated algorithms to measure vocal behavior and provide clinically meaningful biofeedback. © 2013 Firenze University Press.

In this paper, the metal-semiconductor-metal (MSM) Schottky AlN photodetectors (PDs) on Si substrates show a dark current as low as ~1 nA at a bias up to 200 V. Excellent thermal stability and radiation hardness of solar-blind AlN MSM PDs are achieved. The working temperature is up to 300 °C and the radiation tolerance is up to 10 13 cm -2 of 2 MeV proton fluences for AlN MSM PDs. The results demonstrate the high promise of AlN as an active material for solar-blind DUV photodetection in extremely harsh environments.

DC faults may cause severe disruptions in continuity of service to vital loads in a shipboard integrated power system, hence detection, isolation, and protection against such faults must be incorporated in both medium-voltage DC (MVDC) and low-voltage DC (LVDC) systems. Here we consider the effectiveness of existing z-source breakers and propose several new designs more appropriate for fault detection in MVDC and LVDC systems. In particular, we perform an optimization study that aims to minimize dissipation and weight and we identify the key parameters for use in MVDC and LVDC systems. Preliminary verification and validation studies are also included.

A variety of network deployments in disaster recovery, fire fighting and military scenarios create networks that do not form a connected network all the time. In such scenarios, paths between a source and destination may be created over time when nodes encounter each other due to node mobility. Many routing algorithms that can route messages in such delay-tolerant networking (DTN) settings have been proposed. Currently, these protocols do not differentiate between the messages that are being routed through the network treating all messages equally. But, there are DTN scenarios, in particular in military situations, where it is critical that messages are differentiated based on their importance to the task being supported. In this paper, we propose extensions to two popular DTN routing protocols, Epidemic and PROPHET, to implement such message prioritization. We implemented the proposed extensions in ONE (Opportunistic Network Emulator) and studied the performance of these extensions. Results from our simulation analysis demonstrate that it is possible to implement message prioritization in non-deterministic delay tolerant networks and provide us with insights into configuring message prioritization in DTN. In particular, the importance of selecting optimal queue lengths at each node to mitigate congestion in such networks. © 2012 IEEE.
