Anaerobic fermentation for hydrogen production is influenced by various environmental factors that can limit microbial activity. However, machine learning (ML) shows significant potential in explaining the complexity of biological processes. This study focuses on the application of ML in predicting hydrogen production rates (HPR) during anaerobic fermentation of biomass energy. Grey relation analysis was employed to investigate the correlation between operational parameters and HPR. Five ML algorithms, namely decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and K-nearest neighbor (KNN), were utilized in conjunction with operating conditions and digestate characteristics as features, with HPR as the target variable. The evaluation of the models was conducted using mean squared error (MSE) and R squared (R2). Notably, butyrate, oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), and volatile suspended solids (VSS) were identified as key factors influencing hydrogen production during sucrose anaerobic fermentation. Among the ML algorithms tested, XGBoost achieved the highest accuracy, with an R2 value of 0.91 and an MSE of 0.0052. © 2024 Hydrogen Energy Publications LLC

In recent years, due to the proliferation of information and communication technology, as well as AI technology, industrial control systems, which were once in a closed network environment, have also integrated related technologies and gradually connected to external networks. Although this can enhance the efficiency of industrial production, it greatly increases the information security threats to industrial control systems. Among them, the information security issues of critical infrastructures are a key issue. If these critical infrastructures are attacked by cyber hackers, it could pose threats that jeopardize the safety of the general population. In light of this, this study focuses on the critical infrastructure of the power grid, proposing a semi-supervised intrusion detection system (IDS) technology by using the one-class classification. It analyzes data from the electricity distribution system to assess whether the system has been attacked. This research employs a power grid dataset to train the proposed model and execute the experiments. Fuzzy logic can be used to represent obscurity based on terms such as high, old, hot, cold, and so on. Fuzzy logic can extend the range of truth values to all real numbers in intervals between 0 and 1. Numbers in this interval represent the possibility that the statement given is "true"or "wrong". The use of fuzzy logic can be used in everyday life, such as in the fields of medicine, engineering, agriculture, transportation, environmental science and also in economic and business applications. As in this study, it was used to calculate the ideal amount of 'tips' for restaurant waiters based on the service provided by restaurant waiters. The method used in this study is to use Mamdani fuzzy logic with the process of defuzzyfication using the Centroid of area (COA). The results of this study are that it can be determined the value crisp of giving tips to restaurant waiters is 45 thousand rupiah provided that the service provided for service = 7 (Excellent) and food service = 8 (Delicious).. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Reliable Data Transmission through Private CBRS Networks

We consider the use of a domain proxy assisted private citizen broadband radio service (CBRS) network and propose a Maximum Transmission Continuity (MTC) scheme to transmit Internet of Things (IoT) data reliably. MTC dynamically allocates available CBRS channels to sustain the continuity of data transmission without violating the channel access requirements. MTC allocates the granted CBRS channels according to the priority of each user, the instant channel access status, interference among users, and the fairness. The simulation results demonstrate the improvement in managing reliable IoT data transmission in the private CBRS network. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Software-defined networking(SDN)is a new paradigm that promises to change by breaking vertical integration,decoupling network control logic from the underlying routers and switches,promoting(logical)network control centralization,and introducing network ***,the controller is similarly vulnerable to a“single point of failure”,an attacker can execute a distributed denial of service(DDoS)attack that invalidates the controller and compromises the network security in *** address the problem of DDoS traffic detection in SDN,a novel detection approach based on information entropy and deep neural network(DNN)is *** approach contains a DNN-based DDoS traffic detection module and an information-based entropy initial inspection *** initial inspection module detects the suspicious network traffic by computing the information entropy value of the data packet’s source and destination Internet Protocol(IP)addresses,and then identifies it using the DDoS detection module based on *** assaults were found when suspected irregular traffic was *** reveal that the algorithm recognizes DDoS activity at a rate of more than 99%,with a much better accuracy *** false alarm rate(FAR)is much lower than that of the information entropy-based detection ***,the proposed framework can shorten the detection time and improve the resource utilization efficiency.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)provide a reliable and energyefficient solution for data collection from the Narrowband Internet of Things(NB-IoT)***,the UAV’s deployment optimization,including locations of the UAV’s stop points,is a necessity to minimize the energy consumption of the UAV and the NB-IoT devices and also to conduct the data collection *** this regard,this paper proposes GainingSharing Knowledge(GSK)algorithm for optimizing the UAV’s *** GSK,the number of UAV’s stop points in the three-dimensional space is encapsulated into a single individual with a fixed length representing an entire *** superiority of using GSK in the tackled problem is verified by simulation in seven *** provides significant results in all seven scenarios compared with other four optimization algorithms used before with the same ***,the NB-IoT is proposed as the wireless communication technology between the UAV and IoT devices.

In agricultural water research, the adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology has emerged as a pivotal approach for large-scale data collection. Water availability in the context of water quality is very important, both for domestic and industrial purposes. For domestic purposes, drinking water and bathing water are separated. Meanwhile, for the palm oil industry, boiler filler is differentiated from additional process water (dilution water). Water quality parameters can be assessed from turbidity and Total Dissolve Solid (TDS). Measurements using measuring instruments separately and repeatedly require significant energy, time, and costs. This research was conducted with the primary objective of presenting a novel method for categorizing water quality with the approach of IoT sensor technology. The research methodology entailed the utilization of an integrated IoT water sensors system in conjunction with manual water categorization. The methods consist of (1) system design, (2) design and installation of sensor and IoT-based microcontrollers, and (3) accuracy and precision testing compared with laboratory measurements. The precision of the integrated IoT water sensors was assessed through a dedicated sensor precision test, resulting in an accuracy rate of 94.4% for the turbidity sensor and 97.5% for the TDS sensor. Notably, this approach successfully discriminated drinking water with valid categorization, while other water types, including groundwater, water with tea, and water with coffee, yielded null categorization results. © 2023 IEEE.

Malware had been a problem for quite some times since it spreads easily and can cause various problems. Currently, malware is also one of the big threats for internet users. With a huge number of internet users today, techniques that can automatically detect malware before it infects the system is required. This study aims to develop malware detection using machine learning approach with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) as feature reduction. PCA (Principal Component Analysis) is expected to be able to reduce the number of features which then could also reduce the learning time but do not reduce its accuracy significantly. There were four machine learning classifiers used in this study, i.e. K-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Tree, Naïve bayes, and Random Forest. The n-components used in this study were 20 and 34 and the ratio of test and train in the dataset was 35% for test and 65% for training. The results have shown that the best performance come from the detection using random forest with 34 n-component and 100 n-estimator with the average accuracy was 0.991688.

Ontology embeddings map classes, relations, and individuals in ontologies into Rn, and within Rn similarity between entities can be computed or new axioms inferred. For ontologies in the Description Logic EL++, several embedding methods have been developed that explicitly generate models of an ontology. However, these methods suffer from some limitations;they do not distinguish between statements that are unprovable and provably false, and therefore they may use entailed statements as negatives. Furthermore, they do not utilize the deductive closure of an ontology to identify statements that are inferred but not asserted. We evaluated a set of embedding methods for EL++ ontologies, incorporating several modifications that aim to make use of the ontology deductive closure. In particular, we designed novel negative losses that account both for the deductive closure and different types of negatives and formulated evaluation methods for knowledge base completion. We demonstrate that our embedding methods improve over the baseline ontology embedding in the task of knowledge base or ontology completion. © 2024, CC BY.

IoT technologies can facilitate machine-to-machine as well as human-to-machine interactions. Use of an automotive human-machine interface can help in exchanging information between vehicles and passengers or drivers. Organizations in automobile sector are using these technologies for providing their customers with seamless customer-experience, which has helped not only in enhancing profitability of the organization;however also in enhancing customer base. An advanced speech-recognition technology is used in the cars for automation of different functions that ensures extraordinary experience for a driver. This requires adoption of an advanced industrial user-interface that connects the human with the machine actively. Present study has analyzed the ways IoT has played a significant role in making human-to-machine interaction possible in automobile industry. In literature-review, different concepts and theories support the impact of IoT in improving human-machine interactions in automobile industry. This chapter has further analyzed the challenges related to the use of this technology. In methodology section of current study, the ways data has been collected in the study has been analyzed. In findings-section, objectives and variables of the study have been considered for designing relevant themes for providing proper insight into the effectiveness of IoT technologies in improving human -machine interactions in automobile industry. The findings section reveals that IoT usage in this industry can enhance customer-experience by improving human-machine interactions especially when using IoT-enabled cars. It has provided proper suggestions regarding the best ways of utilizing IoT in this sector while ensuring reduction of possible risks. © 2022 IEEE.
