The Learning Management System (LMS) is a component of the Smart Campus and is implemented with e-learning. E-learning can be effective if it gives satisfaction to the user and improves academic performance. Therefore, it is important to evaluate online learning users to support learning outcomes. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship model of individual performance with support for user satisfaction and flexibility in an e-learning environment. This study was carried out using a survey to 615 e-learning users. Users are among the universities students in the city of Bandung (Indonesia). Data were collected quantitatively through questionnaires distributed online. Data processing is done with SmartPLS, where there are two model tests, namely the PLS Algorithm and Bootstrapping. Results of this study model test found that user satisfaction can be increased by information quality from e-learning. Online learning has perceived flexibility that is assessed by users and can increase user satisfaction and individual performance. It was found that user satisfaction was able to support the individual performance achievements of students as e-learning users. The results from this study provide valuable insights into the role of user satisfaction as a mediator in controlling individual student performance, highlighting the significance of integrating Smart Campus solutions.

AC-DC converters almost always require common-mode (CM) filters to restrict conducting their electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions to the power grid and ensure compliance with EMI certification requirements. These CM filters, which are based on the well-known LC lowpass filter, are typically bulky and expensive. Hence, a method for passive $\mathbf{C M}$ current cancellation using a nonlinear model is proposed herein. This method is entirely composed of passive components and offers advantages in terms of cost and system reliability. Compared to conventional passive LC filters, the number of magnetic components remains unchanged. This study proposes the derivation of a nonlinear model to estimate the filter performance using measured data from an actual CM choke; however, the proposed method does not require the mathematical model of a CM choke.

This study presents a hybrid model, STL-ARIMA-ES-LSTM, developed to improve the accuracy of Gross Primary Productivity (GPP) forecasts in the Amazon region. The model integrates seasonal and trend decomposition using Loess (STL) with statistical methods (ARIMA and Exponential Smoothing-ES) and a machine learning technique (Long Short-Term Memory - LSTM). Applied to GPP data from the PE-QFR site, the hybrid model achieved significantly better error metrics, with RMSE of 1.69 gC/m2/day, MAE of 1.35 gC/m2/day, and MAPE of 0.20%, compared to the standalone LSTM (RMSE of 2.16 gC/m2/day, MAE of 1.78 gC/m2/day, and MAPE of 0.27%). Furthermore, the hybrid model showed stronger agreement with the observed data, with correlation coefficient r =0.62 and R2 =0.39 , whereas the LSTM alone yielded r =0.26 and R2 = –0.002. The STL decomposition allowed effective separation of trend, seasonality, and residual components, enabling tailored modeling of each, which contributed to the improved predictive performance. These results demonstrate the advantage of hybrid approaches in capturing the nonlinear and seasonal patterns of GPP, supporting enhanced environmental monitoring and more informed climate change mitigation strategies in the Amazon. © 2013 IEEE.

This research is ongoing research into the student learning process which aims to develop artificial intelligence-based technology to calculate essay exam scores automatically, based on the textual proximity of students' answers to the answer key. This research uses an approach based on natural language processing (NLP) and text analysis. Feature extraction was carried out using the BERT model and similarity comparison using the Cosine distance method. Model evaluation was carried out using sensitivity and specificity tests. The model evaluation results show a sensitivity of 98.21%, which means this assessment model is able to detect positive cases well. © 2023 IEEE.

Deafness is a condition that results in the loss of hearing function, hindering the reception of information such as oral communication that relies on auditory senses. Consequently, individuals with hearing impairment experience communication barriers and may have limited or no ability to respond. One solution is the use of sign language. In Indonesia, there are two known sign languages: Sibi and Bisindo. Both serve the same function but differ in their style of movement and expression. Bisindo is considered more flexible as it conveys meaning based on the Indonesian language. However, the universal understanding of this language solution is still limited among many people. Therefore, a program is needed to facilitate translation between deaf individuals who use sign language and their counterparts who do not communicate through sign language. CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) is a deep learning algorithm used for training visual input data recognition by computer systems. There are various CNN-based architectures, and one of them is AlexNet. Based on the author's testing, the AlexNet architecture proves to be suitable for real-time sign language translation. The evaluation of the system involved 7,800 datasets and 520 testing instances, with an average accuracy of 468 correct translations. When averaged, the system achieved a 90% accuracy rate, representing a 100% increase in accuracy compared to previous approaches.

Educational inequalities in disadvantaged areas have long been a global concern. While Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) have shown great potential in addressing this issue, the unique challenges in disadvantaged areas often hinder the practical effectiveness of such technologies. This paper examines live-streaming-based dual-teacher classes (LSDC) through a qualitative study in disadvantaged regions of China. Our findings indicate that, although LSDC offers students in these regions access to high-quality educational resources, its practical implementation is fraught with challenges. Specifically, we foreground the pivotal role of local teachers in mitigating these challenges. Through a series of situated efforts, local teachers contextualize high-quality lectures to the local classroom environment, ensuring the expected educational outcomes. Based on our findings, we argue that greater recognition and support for the situational practices of local teachers is essential for fostering a more equitable, sustainable, and scalable technology-driven educational model in disadvantaged areas. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Pipeline networks are crucial for process industries transportation and business operation. These vital elements, however, are highly exposed to material degradation due to corrosion that seriously impedes operational profitability, reliability, and safety. Industries usually monitor pipeline corrosion rate by gauging pipe wall thickness. Predicting pipe wall thickness helps industries to identify locations with high corrosion rate at an early stage and take necessary actions. The aim of this research is to predict pipe wall thickness at different locations using different machine learning algorithms including Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), k-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), fully connected Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). The data processed and analyzed in this study included six different process variables as well as pipe wall thickness at three different locations in a downstream oil and gas industry. The study findings demonstrated that LSTM with test Root Mean Squared Errors (RMSEs) of 0.019 mm, 0.015 mm, and 0.017 mm for the three selected locations, outperformed the other methods applied and successfully identified the pipe wall thickness pattern. © 2021 IEEE.

Wireless Body Area Networks (WBANs) are integral components of e-healthcare systems, responsible for monitoring patients' physiological states through intelligent implantable or wearable sensor nodes. These nodes collect medical data, which is then transmitted to remote healthcare facilities for thorough evaluation. Securing medical data within WBANs is paramount due to its central role in preserving patient privacy and confidentiality. Notably, Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals have recently gained prominence as pivotal elements within diverse security frameworks. Incorporating ECG signals strategically enhances the security and reliability of WBANs and broader e-healthcare systems, instilling greater trustworthiness. This survey article provides an in-depth exploration of contemporary ECG-based security schemes, adding to the scholarly discourse. The imperative to categorize these security paradigms revolves around their use of ECG signals. This categorization identifies three key domains: the first involves schemes that utilize ECG signals for cryptographic operations, encompassing key generation, agreement, management, and authentication. The second category employs steganography-based techniques, using ECG signals to conceal patients' sensitive medical data. The third category focuses on enhancing ECG signal security during data transmission. Each category is meticulously elaborated, detailing architectural foundations, notable contributions, and intrinsic security services. Furthermore, each section presents a comprehensive overview of the attributes characterizing ECG-based security frameworks. This includes insights into employed datasets, simulation environments, evaluation metrics, and inherent advantages and limitations. Expanding on this, a thorough analysis of distinctive attributes underpinning these security frameworks concludes by shedding light on potential directions for future research. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.

Students’ computational thinking and programming skills may grow due to collaborative programming. But as the researchers have noted, students frequently do not use metacognition to manage their cognitive activities while collaborating, which negatively affects learning. This study created a metacognition-based collaborative programming (MCP) system to improve students’ performance in collaborative programming. A seven-week study examined how the approach affected students’ performance in programming courses. The 88 middle school students were split into two groups: the experimental group received the metacognition-based collaborative programming approach, and the control group received the conventional computer-supported collaborative programming approach. The results indicated that the metacognitive-based collaborative programming approach enhanced students’ academic scores in programming courses and their computational thinking tendencies. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

We present a high-accuracy 3D facial reconstruction system with the following features: real-time 3D facial reconstruction using exposure synchronization multi-camera, feature alignment to quantify facial differences, a software system based on a naked eye 3D display, and medical records for a 3D face database. The proposed system is novel and practical, and the algorithm and the hardware/software architecture improve the current non-quantitative communication status in medical aesthetics. The system achieves preoperative expectations, real-time recording and feedback during surgery, and postoperative tracking analysis, thus making doctor-patient communication more efficient. The facial data database records personal and quantitative beauty data and its changes, providing accurate medical and aesthetic treatment analysis for individuals. In addition, the collected data of different genders, ages, injection sites, and dosages contribute to the development of more accurate medical materials. With artificial intelligence and cloud architecture, we provide reliable data for medical aesthetics customers, helping them understand their medical aesthetic needs. Doctors also provide stable medical care quality to consumers through cloud data, and medical aesthetic consultants do not need to exaggerate medical effects excessively. They can inform customers of specific differences before and after surgery through precise data and provide visual communication and customer expansion to improve consultation conversion rates.
