This paper presents the partial discharge (PD) testing on the plug-in gas-insulated switchgear cable termination taken out of service. The shield electrodes were designed to geometrically electric field control in the area of the insulation screen edge of the cable part. The PD test of the cable termination was performed. In addition, a computed radiography technique with X-ray was also performed to evaluate the mechanical integrity of the supporting spring of the cable termination. The fatigue of the supporting spring was evidenced. Moreover, the cable termination was disassembled and re-assembled to perform the PD test again. The PD characteristics, including PD magnitude, PD inception voltage (PDIV), and phase-resolved PD (PRPD) patterns, were reported. The PD test results revealed that the PDIV was lower than the operating voltage. Besides, the PRPD patterns exhibited internal discharge inside the cable termination. From the PD test results and computed radiographic, it was assumed that they might be caused by discharge in the interface between the stress cone and epoxy insulator.

As the World is facing environmental degradation issues due to large scale emissions of Green House Gases (GHG), a shift from conventional way of living to sustainable standards is needed. Therefore, the world's automobile industry is transforming from hydrocarbon based fuels to environment-friendly technologies. Electric Vehicles (EV s) are a way forward to tackle these issues. Pakistan is now facing a new dilemma as the electricity generation capacity exceeds the demand, unlike before, and an alarming situation of poor air quality index. Transport sector being one of its key contributors. The transition from fossil fuel vehicles (FFV s) to EV s is, therefore, inevitable and a potential way to decarbonize its transport sector, to overcome these abysmal socio-economic conditions. However, effective transition from FFV to EVs could only be realized with EV charging station supplied with electricity from hybrid renewable energy (RE) sources. J amshoro, a district located in Sindh, in this context, is viable location with hybrid RE resources. This paper while providing an overview and prospects of EV s in Pakistan also highlights the hybrid RE resources of district J amshoro towards establishing an EV charging station. This study finding suggests that it is obvious and variable to undertake measures to encourage EV market in Pakistan and establish RE based charging stations across the country as per potential of various locations.

This paper proposes a Hardware-in-the-Loop sim-ulation (HiLs) tested via square Helmholtz coils as a relative magnetic field generator. In technical terms, the HiLs is an indispensable tool for engineering design during rapid proto-typing of attitude determination and control algorithms for the turning parameters that control the attitude of the satellite, since most of the satellite's mission relies on its attitude, making this system one of the most essential to the satellite's operation. More-over, performing controlled experiments with the parameters for developing adaptive control algorithms improves the overall efficiency of the satellite's kinematic system. The conceptual design of a proposed system architecture can be composed of the electrical currents of 2.4-meter square Helmholtz coils produced by a low-level microcontroller equipped with a DC-motor driver by a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal through real-time connection to an orbit propagator using a high-level computer. This research focuses on the attitude dynamic of satellites through the interaction between the Earth's magnetic field (EMF) and the magnetotorque in the satellite. To apply this phenomenon, the intensity and the direction of the magnetic field must be identified through Biot-Savart's law. Along with the EMF, the reference position is calculated using the standard general perturbations satellite orbit model (SGP4), and the intensity is modeled based on coefficients from the 13 th edition of the International Geo-magnetic Reference Field (IGRF). Therefore, this paper presents a detailed development of a HiLs testbed for distributed attitude determination and control systems (hardware and software co-design, protocol, and control theory). Furthermore, it discusses a classic cooperative control case for the output of magnetic field intensity and direction, which was undertaken to explain the integrated simulation process and validate the effectiveness of the co-simulation tested to be

A DMAIC (an effective tool) approach has been presented in this paper for reducing defects in soldering in an endeavor to approach six sigma quality level in a mobile phone manufacturing company. DMAIC helps expose and kill the root causes of defects in the process and thereby helps achieve higher customer satisfaction by means of improved quality. The case study was conducted in an electronics manufacturing industry engaged in an assembly of mobile phones. Post successful implementation of Six sigma - DMAIC in the assembly processes, ppm defectives dipped from 3800 to 200, which is a massive 94.74 percent reduction in ppm defectives.

In this paper, we present an experimental testbed of a Visible Light Communication (VLC) - based localization framework developed for the 5G Internet of Radio-Light (IoRL) European project. The established testbed is capable of providing decimeter-level positioning accuracy to support high level location-based services (LBS) as well as the data transmission service for the future IoRL system. The emulation results on the testbed confirm that the proposed system achieves high location accuracy with most positioning errors less than 0.15 m and only a few more than 0.25 m corresponding to the corner area.
